I am writing to express my profound…

I am writing to express my profound disappointment and shock regarding my recent experience at your Salisbury branch. As a loyal, long-term customer who has always chosen Enterprise for my vehicle hire needs, I have never encountered such poor service until now.
Upon arriving to collect my vehicle, I discovered it was damaged. When I pointed this out to the member of staff, I was met with complete indifference. I was told that this was the only vehicle available and that if I did not want it, there were no other options, essentially forcing me to accept a damaged car. Because I was so far from home, I felt I had no choice but to take it for the three days I required it.
As a business owner myself, I pride myself on how I treat my customers; I would never provide a substandard service or product to those who support my business. To be treated with such disregard is something I find deeply unprofessional and, frankly, unforgettable. I expected a much higher standard of care and courtesy from Enterprise, and I am saddened that this experience has significantly damaged my perception of your company.

Great service, would use again.

Needed a big van for a house move. Easy ordering process online and picked it up locally. Very competitive price and the staff at the Merthyr branch were very helpful during the hand over. Great service and would definitely use again.

The guy at high wycombe Bridge street offered us a different car. We had booked the car for £79. It was bumped up £215.00.None of the competitors recommended Enterprise. We don't normally book with Enterprise. He wasn't in the next day. This is one day for hiring the car. All the other places tell you how much you pay. Enterprise doesn't. Beware they make you sign stuff once you've agreed.

DO NOT USE! Took my money, left me stranded, and refused the car!

I am absolutely disgusted with the service I received. I booked and paid for a car today, but when I arrived to collect it, they declined my booking for no valid reason. Because of this, I was completely left in a pickle and couldn’t pick up my family from the airport as planned. Taking someone's money and then stranding them at the desk is entirely unacceptable. Save yourself the stress and book elsewhere!

A goodwill gesture that ended up costing more

Looking at the reviews on here proves that this car company and its staff are rude, arrogant and totally in competent. Will never ever try to use them again.

Enterprise offered me a 25% goodwill discount for a future rental. When I tried to use it, every quote I received was higher than what I paid before, even with the discount applied. A goodwill gesture that results in a higher price is not goodwill.

I was given contradictory explanations throughout. I was told pricing couldn’t be overridden, then told broker prices could be matched. I was told prices were the same across locations, yet also told those locations couldn’t be booked or matched. None of it made sense, and none of it helped resolve the issue.

The whole process felt like upselling disguised as customer care. Very disappointing experience, lack of customer care and all about salemanship. Awful company.

Ordered a large van (to relocate my daughter) a month beforehand
Went to pick it up at 9:30 only to be told that they didn’t have one as none had been brought back on time! Got offered a small van which of course was no good.
The guy in there couldn’t have cared less - he said there may be one at 2pm but we couldn’t risk that as we were doing a 5 hour drive!
Had to cancel and go elsewhere which cost me another £94 as they only had a Luton. I emailed a complaint 5 days ago asking for the £94 but, surprise surprise, no email back.
They don’t lose out tho as they fine the late returners so it doesn’t matter to them when their disappointed customers have no choice but to cancel and be refunded. Shoddy business and I would NOT use them ever again!

Awful

Booked a van for the Saturday until the Monday as I was moving house from Caerphilly to Birmingham. I had to get a train down from Birmingham to Caerphilly on the day, the van was booked from 12. Upon completion of the check in, I received a call 30 minutes prior to the time I was meant to be hiring the van, they said that they no longer have the van available. Wasted 40 pound to get down here and was unable to take my stuff to my new house, ridiculous.

Preston and Bamber Bridge excellent

I can only assume experience depends on branch location. I rented a van and a medium sized car from the Preston, Lancashire branch in May of this year and had excellent vehicles and service. I also rented a prestige car yesterday from the Bamber Bridge (Preston) branch and can honestly say the vehicle and staff were brilliant. All booked and paid for easily online. Would definitely recommend and use these branches again

Rented a couple of times from…

Rented a couple of times from Enterprise with mixed results. The first time everything was ok until I received a notice of an admin charge for a parking ticket. They informed me they had given my details to the car park owners. I never received the parking fine. When I queried the fine with Enterprise, the parking charge was paid by me over the car park app which I had proof of. I sent them the proof but they still tried to pursue me for the admin charge.
For the second booking I was asked to arrive 15 mins early as the office closed at midday on the Sunday. I arrived 20 mins early and had checked in online beforehand. I was still made to wait 40 mins before eventually getting upgraded to a slightly better car. On the walk round the Enterprise rep noted that one of the tyre pressure sensors was low, after inspecting the tyre she said the sensor just needed recalibrating and re set the pressure sensors monitor. After driving the car for 5 minutes the low pressure sensor came back on and I had to fill the tyre with air. The next day was the same and it appeared the tyre had an existing slow puncture. I had taken photos of the low pressure warning the day before and informed Enterprise. They accepted that the slow puncture was existing when I dropped the car off.
I have tried to book another car recently but left it later to book, still over 24 hours notice. The price for the same car over the same period has gone up by £100??
I booked for a later date to see if there was a difference and the price had dropped to the original value. So they charge £100 for a later booking? That and their hidden excess waiver charges and roadside charges has put me off using them again, there’s more hidden charges than Ryanair! I’ve now booked with SixT and got my rental much cheaper.

Enterprise Hamilton

The process was made very easy. The pick-up and drop off service was of great benefit to me. Staff were very efficient and helpful and kept contact with me as and when required. I was very pleased with the service provided in the Hamilton Branch.

Hired with Europcar in Barcelona.

Hired with Europcar in Barcelona.
I wasn’t given a condition report to sign.
Once out of the underground car park I could see the car was covered in dents and scrapes so I photographed and videod the damage and sent it to them on the day.
On return I once again wasn’t given a condition report to sign.
They still tried to charge me for existing damage on return in spite of my evidence.
Absolute charlatans.

Evasive and deceitful!

Evasive and deceitful!

Hired a van on a one way hire from Stirling to Hull.
Had to wait for van to be made ready as wasn’t ready at agreed time. The guy at enterprise during the walk round check said they didn’t take into account any dents smaller than 1” (a 2 pence piece he said) as I pointed some minor damage out.
Van was disgustingly inside -it had just been used by road workers and full of small stone chips and cement dust which got all over our household removal contents even after spending 30 minutes, sweeping, hoovering and mopping.
On de-hiring the van in Hull the receiving lady went round the van with me and agreed no further damage had occurred. And I thought that was that!!

A little over 2 months later I receive an email from Damage Recovery at Enterprise informing me I’m responsible for £1256.79 damage to the door and “rood” (think they must mean roof) plus a £78 admin fee!
I phoned the hiring depot who were kinda unhelpful but gave me Hull depots number and said it was nowt to do with them.
Spoke to Hull depot on 30.06.2026 amd was told an email would be sent to the area manager with me cc’d in and the area manager would call me back - never happened!
I called Hull depot on 01.07.2026 to be told the area manager was in meetings all day and was very busy but they’d try and get him to call me back - no response!
I called Hull depot 02.07.2026 to be told the area manager was aware of the situation but couldn’t be tracked down but someone would call - no response! (Pattern developing here!!)
Phoned Hull depot 03.07.2026 told the area manager had popped out but would be back in an hour and would call me however over 1 1/2 hours later no response!
I now have a claim for damage I didn’t commit hanging over me and the stress of dealing with a company who won’t engage with their customers when something goes wrong.
Do your self a huge favour a steer well clear of this company. So far my dealings with them show them to be evasive and deceitful but am happy to engage with them to resolve this issue.
Just be very aware of the fact they will try and pin damage onto you months and months after you walk out of their depot.

If I could give zero stars I would!

If I could give zero stars I would. I was provided a car by this branch while my own car was being repaired resulting from a non-fault claim. The car provided was a "worse for wear" 2025 Mercedes A Class with just under 40,000 on the clock, with significant body damage, including extensive scratches, badly kerbed wheels and even a missing body panel. I had the car for 11 days and added less than 100 miles. The agent who delivered the car to me was very dismissive of the damage, saying they don’t worry about kerbed wheels. Fortunately, I have taken photos of the car and in particular the wheels, as following the cars return, they are accusing me of tyre damage (and a missing parcel shelf - which was not present when the car was delivered). They are now pursuing me for payment for two replacement tyres, despite my protests. I had not noticed the tyre damage previously, but on closer inspection of my photos, I can see the claimed damage was pre-existing. However, their entire argumant seems to be based on the fact that I signed for the car, and did not bring the damage to their attention! I have told them they will not be getting a penny from me and I will see them in court if necessary. I have photos (which they have seen) and this should be an "open and shut case" yet they persist. This is nothing but a SCAM and I expect they rely on people not putting up a fight. You are warned. Make sure you take photos (preferably video) of the whole car. Note: The diagram that you sign against when you accept the car - they will not share with me now!).

Enterprise Bognor Regis branch have been excellent.

Thank you to the branch manager Jessica and her team at the Bognor Regis branch of Enterprise Car hire. The service we have received has been excellent, they swiftly found a solution to a small issue, kept us fully informed and resulting in a successful hire.
They provided a replacement vehicle for us whilst our own was damaged in an accident and written off by the insurers.
Thank you very much Jessica for your customer focused attention, it is certainly a highly recommended local branch of this international company.

I booked a Luton van several days in advance to secure my booking. Just a few hours before collection, I received an email saying the vehicle had not been returned, so they were unable to provide it.

Because of this last-minute cancellation, I struggled to find another vehicle at such short notice. I emailed them explaining my situation and asking for help, but they didn't even reply.

This is a very disappointing level of customer service from such a large and well-known company. If you don't want the stress and disappointment of having your booking cancelled at the last minute, I would avoid Enterprise and use a more reliable rental company.

Enterprise Kingsbury

Enterprise Kingsbury.
I was given a courtesy car, enough fuel in the tank for 18 miles but they did tell me that in fairness. The staff were fine too.
However, I always take numerous images of the car before driving away because I have been scammed before.
I dropped the car off at my BMW garage as arranged and 2 days later got a damage report about 4 missing little his caps.
Luckily I had the photos taken on the forecourt which I sent them.
Total lack of trust from them as they then required the pictures to be sent with the metadata. I have done this now and expect this to go away but their communication is terse to say the least and certainly not customer centric.
Warning - if you rent a car from them take many many pictures and never delete them.
