RUN AWAY

RUN AWAY!
We picked up our car at the enterprise Nante's airport location. The clerk sold us unnecessary extra insurance under false information! After looking into it, we contacted them the next day to cancel the coverage. No answer, sent 3 unanswered emails. We returned the car in Saint-Malo. They were supposed to help us by keeping the contract open until the issue was resolved and contacting me. Radio silence!!! The amount was charged to my card!!!!!!
Zero service and a complete scam!!! Find another company!!

Avoid Enterprise Bergerac Airport

Avoid Enterprise Bergerac Airport. Save yourself the trouble.

This happened back in May. I never got around to writing a review at the time, but four months later I still find the way we were treated so utterly ridiculous that it deserves one.

The original mistake was ours: we arrived without the required credit card. Fair enough.

We explicitly told Enterprise we would return later that week with the correct card. On Wednesday we called to confirm that both the card and the car would be fine. We were assured they would.

So a friend brought my Mastercard all the way from the Netherlands, and on Friday we drove 1.5 hours back to Bergerac.

The car had been given away.

Enter the manager. A man who apparently believes that running a car rental office consists of repeatedly announcing: "I have no cars."

Yes, I had noticed. Thank you for that valuable insight.

No apology. No responsibility for his colleagues' assurances. No attempt to find a solution. He even denied that we had said we would return later that week. Feel free to check your CCTV.

He then claimed there were no cars available all weekend, while we could see Enterprise offering rentals for the next day online.

When my girlfriend understandably got frustrated, he resorted to insulting her. And when we desperately tried to salvage our travel plans, he simply walked out. Laughing.

So we drove 1.5 hours back to our accommodation near Sarlat, and on Sunday another 1.5 hours to Bergerac to return the replacement car we had been forced to rent elsewhere. From there we had to take a €300 taxi to Brive to catch our pre-booked train.

Two completely unnecessary trips to Bergerac, hours of wasted holiday, extra fuel and a €300 taxi bill. All because Enterprise assured us the car would be there when it wasn't.

Not a single euro of compensation. We eventually got the original rental refunded, but nothing for the additional costs their assurances had caused.

The cherry on top? On both visits we watched other customers dealing with rejected cards and vehicles that didn't match their reservations. Apparently we weren't the only ones enjoying the Enterprise experience.

Mistakes happen. What matters is how you handle them. This manager showed a truly remarkable ability to turn a frustrating situation into a complete customer-service disaster.

Do yourself a favour: spend a little more and rent somewhere else. Even if everything goes wrong, at least you'll be dealing with someone who gives a damn.

Terrible experience with Enterprise -

Terrible experience with Enterprise Saint-Malo.

We prepaid €97 for a Renault Trafic but were advised to cancel and rebook after the named driver lost his licence while travelling. After we rebooked over the phone (as directed), Enterprise explicitly assured us that the original €97 would be refunded.

They then rented our Trafic to another family and charged us €214 for a replacement Citroën Berlingo — yet still kept the original €97.

So Enterprise took payment from us for a vehicle we never used, rented that same vehicle to someone else, and charged us again for the replacement. Despite promising a refund, they have since ignored our emails entirely.

No refund, no response, no resolution. Extremely poor customer service from a major rental company. I would not use Enterprise again.

Appalling Enterprise leave family with babies stranded.

Appalling.
I signed up to additional cover on a hire car for a holiday in France, but at no point either on Booking.com or speaking to staff at the pickup location was it explained that this would not include tyre damage. We had an incident in the car causing tyre damage towards the end of the stay, which has left us £500 out of pocket.
That is one thing, but the real damage came when reporting this incident. I was asked whether, given the hire car would be unavailable to me and I was not seeking to collect a replacement vehicle given the late stage of our trip, I would like to have a taxi arranged for our Saturday morning journey to Biarritz Airport. I was informed this would be free. I agreed with Enterprise on the phone to take up this offer and arranged for the taxi to collect me and my family in 06.30 on Saturday morning ahead of a flight time of 09.30.

The taxi never arrived despite assurances on the phone that it was arranged, leading to an anxious and unsettling Saturday morning before returning home to the UK for my wife and our 4-year and 8-month old children. We scrambled to arrange an Uber which proved challenging and took some time and came eventually at considerable cost.

After multiple e-mails with Enterprise to try and resolve this, I have still had no contact or attempt to rectify. They are extremely quick to take money from you but disgustingly unresponsive at attempting to address their own failures. It's a terrible shame as I've used Enterprise in the UK on numerous occasions before. Back to Sixt in France next time.

Dont hire a car from Enterprise ( Alamao ) at Bordeaux Airport

Hired a car from Bordeaux airport in May 26 while it was raining. 47,000km on clock. Small scratch on rear door was invisible as it was wet. Didnt get a copy of contract as promised which Enterprise admit. On return the agent went straight to the scratch. After returning home without my knowledge, he charged me Eur 3000 but dated the day we hired the car. Have eventually got Eur2500 back but still missing the remaining Eur 500. Enterprise do not reply.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs

July 2025 - Rented a car from Enterprise France at Bergerac Airport. At pick up car was not right and we got a smaller car, manual not automatic. Enterprise emailed a letter to say we would be due £200 refund.
Afterwards: Despite numerous attempts to contact Enterprise they didn't issue us with a refund and refused to answer any emails.
Next step - we took it to our credit card company and showed them the evidence. Enterprise agreed to refund and the £200 was put back to our credit card.
March 26 - notice from UK debt collectors to say that Enterprise had asked them to collect the £200 debt back on their behalf. Submitted all the evidence to the contrary and 2 letters from Enterprise saying they would refund the £200 to us. Debt put on hold but now Enterprise wont respond to any communication with the debt collector. It is just sat on hold indefinitely and we can't do anything until Enterprise respond.

BEWARE CAR RENTAL SCAM!

BEWARE: Windshield damage scam and corporate email addresses that bounce - Enterprise Bordeaux Gare Saint-Jean

We rented a Peugeot 3008 (RA# 327Y37) from Enterprise Bordeaux Gare Saint-Jean in April 2026 via economycarrentals.com, with a Full Insurance Package including CDW capped at €1,700.

Three things happened that we believe constitute deliberate bad faith:

1. At collection, our booked electric vehicle was unavailable. The agent demanded €80 extra for a gasoline replacement; their own failure, not ours. Dropped only after we pushed back.

2. At return, Enterprise charged €2,500 to our credit card for an alleged windshield chip; exceeding our contractual CDW excess cap of €1,700 by €800. The windshield was never inspected during the walk-around. Page 4 of Enterprise's own rental agreement, where vehicle photos should appear, is entirely blank. No repair invoice, no independent assessment, no timestamped photos have ever been provided.

3. They charged our card at 15:56 — three minutes before their notification email arrived at 15:59 — in breach of the 48-hour contestation window they stated in writing.

We have filed formal complaints with Enterprise Holdings corporate headquarters. Enterprise USA's corporate email bounces. Their customer service is unreachable. We have been disputing our case for 4 weeks but company didn't budge and refuse to return our money.

Upon investigating we realise that this practice of charging for windshield damage without inspection evidence is a recognised scam documented by ClassAction.org against Enterprise, Alamo and National specifically. Do not rent from this franchise without photographing every millimetre of the vehicle including the windshield before driving away.

Hired a car from Bergerac airport

Hired a car from Bergerac airport, car had damage and was dirty, but it was ok, still a good car.
Luckily I took pictures of the damage before driving away because when I returned they said I caused the damage, even though there is an open dispute, they took over 2000€ from my account. Needless to say I have escalated this and also bought my bank within this argument.
Absolutely terrible, PLEASE PLEASE AVOID!

A bunch of thieves

I rent a car for ten days in france, with the full-coverage. I receive a parking fine 2 days later, which I had actually paid, just did not put it in the dashboard (looks like in france you still have to do that, even when the machine records your plate number). I write to the company explaining the issue, telling that I have all the tickets and that the fine can be rejected easily. No answer till three days later, when the write me the fine has already been paid, with 35€ extra for their administrative account. Maybe if theid had answered me before paying.... But of course not, that is money for them. The fine can still be claimed, but those 35 € will never come back to me.
PD: the parking fine is 25 €

Payment for alleged scratch

Payment for alleged scratch
In connection with a holiday in Bordeaux, we rented a car.
When we pick up the car at the railway station in Bordeaux, the delivery lady made us aware of scratches on the left rear fender.
She took pictures and put them into "their system".
Asked directly, she said we didn't need to take pictures, so we didn't.
Friday 30.8.
We deliver the car at the agreed time at the airport, where the "reception" claims there is a scratch on the rear left screen. We were naturally fully aware of this, as they themselves had drawn attention to it.
The "reception" requires payment for the scratch.
We refused to pay on the basis that the scratch was logged upon receipt at the railway station.
We receive demands for payment, but refuse and they then withdraw DKK 12,000 from our account

Was charged €1500 for a scratch that was done by rocks on the road, it's right at the base of the car where it meets the floor. Staff did not believe us when we said we had no bumps or accident. The scratch is nowhere near that amount of money, it is general wear and tear and should not have counted as a bump by any means.

I've filed a complaint, but no one responded. Do not use this company.

Thieves!…

A car was rented for me from enterprise's Angouleme office on Saturday 30th March by AA European Breakdown. I was assured when asked for a credit card that it would not be charged, only to find they took 79,99€ from me. Despite numerous telephone calls and emails over the last two and a half months they have not responded, as promised, or refunded the money they took without my consent. This is theft.

Untrustworthy Company - avoid

I rented a car from Alamo in Nice with is part of the Enterprise group. The waiting time at the airport was around an hour which isn't great. I was told my rent car was in perfect condition but notice a few small scratches on collection so I photographed accordingly. I then drove the car to my destination and parked off road in a locked parking space. Returning the car to Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Hyeres and had to leave the key in he drop off box as there was no one on the desk. The car was dropped off in perfect condition. Now I find that I have been charged over £200 for some damage and I can say that the car was return in exactly the same condition as picked it up. No proof was sent and no explanation and so far I have not had any response from them except an auto reply. I think this is some kind of rip off and that they have dishonestly taken my money. Avoid this company.

It all seemed to be going so well

It all seemed to be going so well - we got an upgrade because the car we booked wasn't ready, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Then when we got home, I discovered that they had not refunded my deposit in full. I called the rental location, they said they made a mistake and I would be refunded. No refund shows up. I call again, and again, and each time, "yes, you will be getting a refund soon".
So I call central customer service, no answer. Try again and have to explain it all again. They (hopefully accidentally) hang up on me.
Call again, and the lady tells me that I need to email them to explain the problem. At this point, I'm fuming, and explain that it is not my job to chase around to sort out their mistake. She says that it's the way their process works - well change your processes then!
I get put through to a manager who agrees to issue a refund, and promises to email when it is confirmed.
So far, no email, I am still out of pocket and have now spent who knows how much money on phonecalls.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

booked van hire in Lourdes. told on arrival no van for return journey - end of, no interest in helping at all. if you think that your booking confirmation/reservation actually means that you will have a vehicle then think again. To enterprise this doesn't mean they have to have a vehicle for you. Also if you think that booking the vehicle you want on enterprise means that they will actually provide you with that vehicle then think again. In fact you'll be lucky if they have any vehicles at all, as I found out. They then held onto my deposit for TWO WEEKS. watch out for this - enterprise will charge the full deposit amount to your Credit Card. other rental companies don't do this. Enterprise then hold onto your deposit as long as they can because they are crooks.

Merci, Excellente!

Two friends and I had to get from Vannes in France to La Rochelle after a Sailing trip. Enterprise was not only the cheapest but when we asked for the best way to get from the Port to collect the car from their office/depot near the Train Station, the manager said the he would bring the car to us collect us with all of our luggage and sailing gear then drive us all back to complete the paperwork and we were on our way! We were allocated a Citroen C5 Estate at no extra charge and I call that SERVICE! Fuel tank was full and we topped it up again before returning it to the Enterprise location in La Rochelle. Excellent
