Worst Service I have ever recieved
Enviro Estates are a property management company who manage properties on behalf of oversees landlords. As a tenant, you cannot communicate with the landlords directly - only Enviro Estates. The problem with this is it's constantly used as an excuse. If anything goes wrong in the property, they reply is always the same - "send a photo / video and we will speak to the landlord". The problem is, you do this and never get a response. When you get back in touch with them, the response again is the same - "we haven't heard back from the landlords, there's nothing we can do about it". What Enviro estates don't seem to understand is that it's not the tenants job to be chasing outstanding issues.
I moved into my flat six months ago and it was covered in animal fur (the neighbours informed us the previous tenants had a huskie). When I say covered in it, I mean this literally - if you ran your fingers through the carpet, you would bring up a tuft. We had several dust bags from the vacuum full of the stuff. It had formed balls, like small tumble weeds, which were under the sofas on the laminate floor. You couldn't sit on the sofas, because you'd be covered in it. Even the fridge had strands inside (as well as been generally filthy).
We asked for the flat to be clean and Linda, an employee at enviro estates told us she had seen the flat be professionally cleaned with an anti-animal fur hoover, which was clearly not correct.
I refused to move my things in until the flat was cleaned as it would be a logistical nightmare to try and move in whilst getting rid of the fur. Enviro estates sent round a general cleaner, who was round for little more than and hour, to clean the rest of the flat (which was generally filthy). However they did nothing about the animal fur and we had to spend weeks trying to get rid of it (we still find it on our clothes, bedding and sofas 6 months later).
When we first moved in we reported that the freezer door was broken. The suggestion which Linda gave us was "secure it with gaffer tape" as a temporary solution, and she would sort it with the landlords. Six months later, and we are still having to gaffer tape the freezer door closed, despite having chased the issue several times.
The fridge is temperamental, and stopped working for several hours (luckily came back to life). We were again asked to "send a video". Why? What can you possibly see from a video? You can't see the temperature?
We also reported several faulty plug sockets when we moved in. We were told that there was a shortage of electricians due to the pandemic, so it could be several months wait. This sounds like rubbish to me (bearing in mind we moved in after lockdown) and if your contracted electrician can't do the job, surely you'd just contract someone else? I work from home and have to plug my laptop and monitor in for most of the day. I'm constantly tripping over extension cables, it's a complete nuisance.
Both me and my housemates beds broke since living here. The metal bar underneath snapped making the beds unusable. My housemate was lucky enough to get his replaced, after ringing them five times to chase the issue. I have not been so lucky and am currently sleeping on a mattress on the floor with my bedframe propped up against the wall for around 8 weeks. I've mentioned this to enviro estates five times and it's constantly ignored.
We had several plumbing issues which were dealt with swiftly. To their credit, enviro estates use a great plumber who is very friendly and good at his job. However, when we reported one issue we were asked to get in touch with the plumber directly. We didn't hear anything back from him until ten days later - it turns out he'd been on holiday. Enviro Estates will do absolutely anything to avoid getting the job done.
I work an 8:30 - 5:30 job with short breaks so contacting enviro estates by phone is very difficult. However they point blank refuse to answer emails so phone is the only way of reaching them. I cannot express how much stress and anxiety the poor service from this agency has caused me. Our flat is £400 per month excluding bills - not particularly cheap for an ex-office space in Old Trafford. I feel as though I have been completely conned.
Please don't be fooled by other positive "invited" reviews. A lot of these reviews have likely been invited by Linda (who is very personable but completely useless) after she has shown people round a property and got the contracts signed. That is where Enviro Estates seem to believe their responsibility as an agency ends. Please don't use this agency, I wouldn't want anyone to go through the hassle that we have - there are plenty of other property agencies in Manchester who I'm sure are much better.
