I recently had a very disappointing…

I recently had a very disappointing experience with Equifax that I feel compelled to share. While I initially signed up for their services with high hopes, the process of canceling my subscription has been nothing short of a nightmare.

First off, their website is confusing and lacks clear instructions on how to cancel. I spent what felt like hours searching for the right link, only to be directed to a series of dead ends. When I finally found the cancellation option, I was bombarded with endless prompts and offers to stay. It felt more like a sales tactic than an actual service.

To make matters worse, I attempted to call their customer service for assistance. After waiting on hold for an eternity, I was met with a representative who seemed uninformed and unhelpful. I felt like I was speaking to a robot rather than a person who cared about my issue.

In the end, I had to jump through hoops just to get my subscription canceled. This experience has left me frustrated and disappointed, and I can’t recommend Equifax to anyone looking for a straightforward service. If you value your time and sanity, I suggest looking elsewhere. (the agent just hang-up without saying goodbye).

Equifax should be shutdown

A few days ago Equifax had removed an account that was over 7 years old from my credit report. This caused my credit score to go up by 33 points. Today, Equifax put that very same account back on credit report even though they removed it a few days before. This caused my score to drop by 47 points. Once an account reaches the 7 year mark it must be removed. As it stands, their action is a gross violation of the fair credit reporting act. Shame on you Equifax for your false reporting.

Professional & Effective

Yesterday, September 7, I had an excellent experience with an Equifax supervisor “Divya.” She was professional, smart, kind, and effective, we resolved my issues quickly. Thank you.

Avoid at all costs

Terrible customer service. Kept constantly closing my fraud cases even though they weren't resolved which didn't help in a distressing time. It took over 2 months to get my credit report even though I'd passed security and given all the info they needed. After I received my credit report, they then sent over 20 identical letters requesting more information for my credit report which turned out to be a company error but I had to reach out to them to confirm it wasn't further fraud. They then took over 3 months to respond to my complaint about them which they decided to resolve by sending me a copy of my credit report (which I no longer needed) but actually was another letter that was identical the 20 they'd already sent previously. This is a company that is inefficient and provides appalling service, avoid.

The internal lock is hell getting removed. It's Equifax's fault. If your systems were stronger, you would have not gotten hacked. And I would not have to deal with the dreadful customer service team. I cannot say all of them, but the ones that I have worked with has been a nightmare. Please close down. What is the point of existing as a company? Then you outsource the call center to the very people that should not have the job. So backwards. Bring the jobs to America. PLEASE. I want no dealings with Equifax. It's unfortunate that I do not have a choice.

Why do they exist??

Why do they exist??? I simply went to temporarily lift a freeze and it was a nightmare. Went to login and was immediately blocked and made to call. They're plagued with a multitude of customer service issues only to blame it on the customer doing something wrong. From breeches to dumb security questions that had nothing to do with my past/current credit to being locked out because I answered "NO" to them. To being on hold for over 40 minutes just to get thru to a rep. To attempting to send a picture of my DL only to be told the site cannot receive the app. THIS has been going on for years with them. Is their an oversight body one can complain to?

How hard could it be to restore a freeze?

Was trying to restore a freeze that was temporarily lifted. Experian and Transunion make it simple with the click of a button. Not so with Equifax. It's as if they never considered you might want to restore a freeze early. And their phone lines are overwhelmed with consumers trying to get help.

Rigged doesn’t match where info is gathered from.

They claim they get their intro from Experian but my score with experian is way better the equifax report matches none of the 3 major credit places but when I ask they say our records match when I can get on anyplace that has a report and match what it says and they are the only ones that doesn’t match any other place with my report and yet any place I apply that needs credit they look at equifax what a load of crab they only place giving me a bad score and shouldn’t mean anything is the only place that gets referenced when I’m denied it’s rigged and I feel they shouldn’t be a thing anymore

Was on hold for 40 minutes without having ever heard a human voice. Equifax reported a Discover account that wasn't mine to my bank. This account doesn't exist anywhere, but it's attached to my name. I called discover to try to have it removed. Their hands were tied because it didn't exist on their end. The mistake must have been on Equifax, but it's impossible to get through. I had a difficult time logging in because they still went by my old name despite having disputed and updated my married name. They need to close because they only cause harm to people.

For two consecutive days (8/17 and 8/18), I have attempted to freeze my credit report on Equifax. I have completed required information, but every time I submit the data, I receive a "server error" message that says "try again later." Transunion and Experian worked without a hitch. Since Equifax reports my credit score on one of my credit cards, why is it so dysfunctional?

FIRE Equifax CEO, MARK BEGOR

I called Trans and Experian yesterday, Aug.16,2024. (Social Security numbers had been stolen, and sold) it took less than 5 min on the phone to put on a freeze on the two.
BUT, callng Equifax is a joke.. for 2 days taking over 3 hours of my time, I can't reach an agent. For some reason the automated service said I couldn't by phone and so I was put on hold. Stupid music, waited 40 min. Hung up, tried again, same thing, waited ONE hour, tried again 30 min.
Next day, 10 AM, tried again, same thing, waited 45 min. Hung up tried the number 866-640-2273, waited 35 min. Hung up. So, no freeze from Equifax, May not be able to unfreeze from these pathetic incompetent jokers that have control of our life-to a point.
CEO, MARK BEGOR, at EQUIFAX NEEDS TO BE FIRED, HE'S TOTALLY INCOMPETENT & UNCARING. Read the reviews!! Equifax is an example of what's destroying America and American's trust.

I’m just trying to freeze my credit

I’m just trying to freeze my credit. Their website doesn’t work, not on any browser. Their app doesn’t work AT ALL. And I can’t get anyone on the phone. Been on hold for 2 hours. Tried 2 separate numbers, one provided by my bank and the other number provided by their website.

I was easily able to create an account and freeze my credit with Experian and Transunion concurrent to being on hold with Equifax. This company is atrocious.

Equifax is the most incompetent…

Equifax is the most incompetent company. Please don’t waste your time and money. I have had an account for years and was recently locked out. Two hours of trying to reset password, on the phone with two separate agents who could not even enter my basic information correctly after phonetically spelling it for them multiple times. Finally I am told my issue has to be escalated somewhere and I will be contacted somehow sometime by someone. These people are bozos. They couldn’t even activate the survey at the end of the last call.

Electoral Register

It is impossible for this company to note that I am on the Electoral Register. I have sent a copy of my poll card and yet it is not done. On phoning, I am informed that I am not registered! Funny - I voted in July with my poll card! Both Experian and TransUnion have me registered!

Equifax very unhelpful

Equifax has a role in creating trust between consumers and creditors, but they completely fail to do so. It has a very limited data collection system, if you have a very long name it will be impossible to register. Then we are always denied credit because we don't exist.

Equifax, PLEASE INVEST In Your Website!

I recommend Equifax to invest in improvements for the "my.equifax.com" website, as it currently experiences significant responsiveness issues and slower load times when it does respond. I had to call and work with a representative to dispute items on my credit report when I should have been able to do it myself through their website.

They double charged me!

They double charged me for the first 3 months. Now they are still taking payments out of my account and I can't log in. I've tried calling but the do not understand my problem. I've sent them bank statements to verify my problem but they still don't understand. I'm out money and they don't show any concern or any effort to rectify this issue.
