Tech support advise ‘buy another one’

I have an ERA plug in alarm. This worked fine and I really would give it 5 stars, however, it stopped working so I contacted ERA support and their answer was “If the Plug-In Siren is not working, you are able to replace the Plug In Siren and you can purchase one by calling us on 0345 257 2500.” How can you possibly call this technical support, absolutely ridiculous!!

Rubbish

Can honesty say these are one of the worst companies. Their products (DoorCam) don’t work and/or far too complicated to get working. I have moved to Tapo and the difference is like night and day. Absolute rubbish…

After speaking with customer service, the device still doesn’t work. My original complaint is upheld…. Rubbish don’t bother

Replacement spring? No problem….

My front door night latch broke after several years use. Took it apart and found internal spring had broken. Spoke to Lisa at Era on Monday afternoon, she knew exactly what I needed and sent me a replacement spring plus a spare incase it happens again in future. Refused my offer to pay, sent it first class and I received it Tuesday morning. Fantastic service, this is why we should buy British made products. Thank you Lisa.

Good for spares

Pleased to be able to get a spare part for my door lock. Telephone support was very helpful. Only irritation was that post was 2nd Class. When you need security spares, you need them quick!

A cancelled order or undelivered order will cost you a £50 secondary handling fee...

Bad. I signed up online as I needed to replace some screw covers on my window.

Had to buy 20 pieces to get 1 which is fine as they were only 6p each.

The postage options given for a small bag or plastic covers was not anything sensible. Only offered option was £10 by dhl

Obviously I had not option but to take this option.

On the day if the delivery I found out the items I had ordered are not right and I contacted them to return the items.

I requested to cancel or if I could return and i was told if I return them, I will be charged a Secondary handling fee of £50. I explained this went against my consumer rights as a customer. I asked if they had a no quibble 14 day return policy.

The lady who was polite explained that they would refund the items and I could keep them but they cant refund the shipping fee.
So I was offered £3. I was asked for my info including my phone number. I asked again about this secondary handling fee. Apparently if I refused the order or for example if the order goes undelivered and is returned to them then I would be charged £50 secondary handling fee on top.

That is not playing by the rules.

I have opened a dispute with my bank.

Stay away is my personal thoughts.

Top rate customer service

I contacted ERA as I had lost a screw that held my front door lock in place. They immediately responded asking for details and my address. Within 48 hours I had two replacement screws provided without charge.

I hadn't bought the lock in question, that was the previous homeowner, but ERA provided customer service of the highest order.
