Escape Beauty at Barleylands I have…

Escape Beauty at Barleylands I have been going nearly every week for 4 years now, I have Thai Yoga every week with Sarune, this is fantastic it helps keep you very flexible and really strengthens your muscles. Highly recommended Sarune is amazing at her job definitely one of the best therapists I have ever seen, very professional. Keep up the good work all of you at escape, a very professional and friendly place.

Very professional

I took my granddaughter to Escape yesterday for ear piercing. Appointment was on time.They made us feel very comfortable and confident in their abilities. They kept us informed of exactly what they were doing at each stage and gave lots of
verbal and written advice.

Very good. Going to have my ears pierced there too now.

Do not get pierced here!!!

Went here to get a conch and Tragus piercing, both piercings were pierced incorrectly and I was advised by a professional piercer that they would not heal and needed to be removed. They were pierced with bars that were not long enough, and my conch piercing had started to embed in my ear, which caused a lump to form at the piercing site.
My ear was blue from the force of the piercing, and I have never had a piercing experience be so painful (I have 13 piercings including cartilage piercings).
Whilst they were trying to pierce them they could not fit the jewelry into my ear as the needle size they had used was too small compared to the jewelry, and it resulted in two people tugging on my ear which was not pleasant and painful.
Escape were kind enough to remove them for me and I did get a refund after dealing with their poor customer service, however since then my ear has a permanent lump from where the piercing was poorly placed.

I recently went back to get gel nail polish on my hands and toes, the lady who did my nails was lovely and very chatty, however the next day the polish from one of my toe nails had already chipped, and the polish on my finger nails have lasted only 4 days before the polish was cracking and lifting off my nails!
For £61 I would expect them to last at least a week

Overall it has not been a positive experience here and I definitely would not get pierced here, I’d recommend going somewhere with more experience!

WOEFUL - WAX BRUISING & BURNS

Suffered bruising and burns following a recent waxing treatment. I was asked to return to the salon the following day (which I did) and the beautician said it was her fault after initially appearing dismissive. Finally spoke to the manageress some 6 days later (I had to chase her!) who was rude, short, unapologetic and took no ownership or responsibility. She showed zero sympathy. Didn’t even offer a refund or credit. DO NOT GO.

Bad experience

I booked online this morning for an eyelash tint and eyebrow shape which I have had at the salon before. On arrival the appointment was 10 mins late starting and then I was informed that a patch test was needed for the tint as it has now been changed to every six months. When booking online this wasn’t made clear and certainly not a tick box to confirm.
I was then informed that I would still have to pay even though they could not complete the treatment, I asked if I could return and have the treatment but no that was not possible unless I pay again. Their lack of care and understanding was noticeable and I feel for the sake of a 15 min treatment they could accommodated my return. Obviously I will not be returning.
Just be aware when you book!

Would be no stars if possible.
I am a regular customer a have never missed an appointment and not complained when twice Escape has told me I had the timing wrong on my appointment although I was then able to show on my phone they had sent me that time.
I have an appointment tomorrow but am suffering from cough, aches & general flu symptoms.Today I phoned to cancel my appointment & explained why. I was told that despite being ill I would loose my deposit unless I came in. They were obviously not concerned about my passing my infection to their members of staff or other customers.
The fact that I was a good customer made no difference what so ever.
I also have an appointment booked for 2 weeks time. As I had decided I will not be using them again I asked to cancel that appointment but was told I would also loose that deposit.
I will therefore attend that appointment but never use the studio again.

Love this place

I’ve been going to Escape nearly since the beginning. Found it on the off chance in Barleylands and knew nothing about it being there. 10 years later and this is still my go to salon. I have everything from nails, lashes, waxing to facials and massages. They are always developing their treatments which is great as I’m always getting treated to something new whenever I visit which is amazing! Well done Escape and here’s to me visiting for many more years !!

A let down

I was disappointed with this salon. I received an unprofessional service with my emails & a letter ignored, calls in evenings not dealt with, incorrect & contradicting info given & my booking messed up.

What happened was I had emailed with an enquiry but didn’t receive a response. I phoned & spoke to a staff member about booking an Indian Head Massage for a child aged 10 & whether I could also book a few individual treatments from their Little Angels Pamper Party list. I explained it was for the child’s birthday & I wanted her to feel special. I was told I could book individual treatments from the Little Angels Pamper Party list but she had to check regarding the Indian Head Massage. I was later left a voicemail confirming I could book an Indian Head Massage for a child.

I called to making a booking at 7pm in the evening as the salon was supposed to still be open. Nobody answered the phone so I left a voicemail. I wasn't called back until the next day. It was a different member of staff that I originally spoke to. I explained again that my booking was for a 10 year old’s birthday & I wanted to book the Indian Head Massage & 2 treatments from the Little Angels Pamper Party list for us both. I was told I couldn’t book things from the Little Angels Pamper Party list (contradicting what her colleague had said). I said it was a shame as things like the foot spa from the Little Angels Pamper Party list was ideal for us. She suggested a manicure/pedicure instead but I explained nail varnish wasn’t allowed at school & we didn’t want wet nails. A makeup session was then suggested but I didn’t feel this was suitable either due to the child's age & cost. I said I’d book just the Indian Head Massages as I could add extra treatments later if I saw anything else suitable online. I was told I could indeed do that as there was still a lot of availability around that time. Our details were taken & 2 Indian Head Massages booked to be done at the same time on a Saturday at 3.45pm. I was told I would have to pay a deposit & I said I would call back that night as I didn’t have my wallet on me. When I tried calling back before 7pm again nobody answered. I therefore rang again the next day & the original staff member I spoke to said they couldn’t find my booking. She said she would speak to the lady that booked it & call me back. When she called back she said I had to pay a deposit but the appointment would have to be in the morning & we’d have to have the massages done one after the other. She said she didn’t know why 3.45pm was originally offered as there wasn’t 2 trained therapists to do Indian Head Massages at that time. I said how disappointed I was & summarised the above stating it was an unprofessional way to operate. I was told they would let their manager know & I said I was extremely disappointed as I’d now have to arrange something else for the birthday. I didn't hear anything so wrote the manager of the salon but have never received a response.
