I'm Not Going To Shop With Etsy Anymore

I received a $10 coupon from Etsy, when I went to use it today I could not find the email. So I contacted Etsy to ask them to send it to me again. They said the coupon expired, although there was no expiration date on the coupon. I've been having problems with Etsy for a while now, sellers selling very poor quality items, difficulty getting in contact with Etsy customer service, overpriced merchandise, and now Etsy not honor the coupons that THEY SENT TO ME. I'm not going to shop on their platform anymore.

Predatory company on the small businesses

It's bad enough Everytime you turn around they're adding more fees and making it harder to make a dollar. I haven't sold on Etsy in YEARS! Yet I get a email that I owe $32 in shipping fees? From 2+ years ago? Make it make sense! USPS adjusting fees in 2026 has nothing to do with my previous sales. Then of course there's NO WAY to contact a living person!

I am NOT paying this! This is predatory and Etsy needs to be audited for their practices!

Charged for 27 days for a "Shop Not Found" – Absolute failure of technical support (Case #24067765)

I opened my shop on March 18th, and for nearly a month, it has been technically broken. When I access my shop link, it says "Shop Not Found." The shop is invisible to the public, yet Etsy continues to charge me onboarding and listing fees.

I have been fighting with support for weeks. I have an open ticket (Case #24067765), but the chat agents literally close the conversation on me when I ask for a supervisor or a refund for the service not rendered. They claim they communicate via email, but I have received ZERO updates in my inbox (checked spam, etc.), even though I do receive their billing emails perfectly.

It is unacceptable to charge a seller for a service that is technically unavailable. This is a database synchronization bug that Etsy refuses to fix.

False advertising and deceptive…

False advertising and deceptive communication by seller on Etsy.
Don’t just go by my opinion, put in order and than try to write a review on Etsy - they manipulate the review system so that you will be prevented from writing a review.
This is an FCC issue to be pursued.

Ordered a product that got "stuck"…

Ordered a product that got "stuck" somewhere on the way. I could'nt make a despute as the time limit had passed. So now i have paid a bunch of money for absolutely nothing. The customer service told me to contact my bank and ofc that didnt help as the bank is not responsible for this shitshow. The etsy policy is an absolut scam and i hope the sellers who acctually care about their products and "brand" moves on to a more serious site.

Systemic incompetence and more than two weeks of administrative silence

I have experienced the most abysmal customer service ever!

Etsy’s customer support is fundamentally broken. My account was flagged in error on March 22nd during a transaction fully authorized via Visa 2-step verification. Since then, I have been trapped in a loop of automated dysfunction.

On March 30th, an agent named Bruce (Request #24107480) instructed me to provide a new email address to facilitate the restoration of my account. I complied immediately, providing a fresh address. It has now been over two weeks without a single response, update, or the restoration of my access, notwithstanding that I continue to chase up through their Help Center and via email.

Their email system is a disaster. I receive a confirmation that a message was received, followed instantly by a "this inbox is not monitored" bounce-back. They have effectively locked me out of my own data, favorites, and order history, and then bolted the door from the inside.

Most recently, I attempted a purchase via a different account. The transaction was authorized by my bank and passed through PayPal, yet Etsy cancelled it instantly without explanation. They are blocking legitimate transactions while refusing to resolve a documented support ticket.

Absolutely abysmal service!

I am a seller for 8 years on Etsy and I'm done

I am a seller and Etsy has outsourced their "customer service" to other countries or to an AI bot with no ability to speak to a human. Their email responses are ridiculous and are generated by AI. They could care less about their sellers or their buyers for that matter.

Looking at other platforms. After 8 years, they are no longer the company I signed up with. Everything is drama, and their software sucks. 1.5 hrs to be told, sorry, we cant help you...

What? I am too fat for a refund?

I’ve read really bad reviews of Etsy as a retail platform but I had never paid much attention - dismissing them as outliers. I had reasoned that a platform so awful wouldn’t have lasted so long. This month Etsy sellers gave me an unforgettable experience. I saw a few things that looked really nice in the photos online so I bought them. The sellers even asked me for my bust measurements so they could recommend the right size. The items arrived and both were way too small. Unlike online retailers such as Amazon which deals with buyers directly, Etsy directs its customers to deal with the seller directly in case of complaints. So I wrote to the sellers. And got this unforgettable response: One seller effectively told me that the problem was that I was too fat which is why I couldn’t do up the buttons on the bust. The other seller implied that my shoulders were too wide. The shirt, which I ordered in a large size at the seller’s recommendation, measured 13.5 inches left shoulder to right shoulder. I couldn’t even get my arm into the sleeve. This seems tailored for prepubescent girls weighing about 100 lbs - not a large size for an adult woman. The seller does offer a refund but I will have to return the item and pay for the shipping to some town in Shandong in northern China - or they could give me $15. The item cost me some $80. I suppose I could have “initiated a case” with Etsy and spend the next six months arguing over whether my shoulders are to blame. I must say that insulting the buyer as too fat and too wide is not a very effective business model for getting repeat sales. What surprises me is that Etsy seems to believe it’s worth the reputational damage to let buyer and seller slug it out first before stepping in almost in the role of a bystander offering to be an impartial referee with no skin in the game.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. I am an Etsy seller and my account was locked BY ETSY because I was trying to update my credit card information and they said they don’t support my bank. I have a customer’s order to fill, they paid and Etsy has the money but I can’t get into my account at all. There is literally NO way to contact customer service. No phone number- nothing. Because they locked my account, I can’t even chat with a robot. I’ve been trying to reach someone to help for days. Truly despicable. If I ever get into my account and retrieve my money I’ll be closing my Etsy store. I’ve been with them for 14.5 years. Ridiculous to not have a customer service option. I’m done.

It was my first time using Etsy & NEVER AGAIN!

It was my first time using Etsy. I needed 10 pieces of white corrugated, plastic, 20" x 20". I Searched the internet for
20 x 20 pieces and Etsy came up and I ordered the plastic. when they arrived they were 5x10 not 20x20. I contacted the seller who told me that this is what I ordered and there's no returns. so you know what? F'! Etsy, forever!

Cant register shop account with USA LLC

I have registered LLC in USA, I tried to open Etsy seller shop during 9 months, and finally they decided permamently close my account without explanation. Very bad support. I verified 3 times, sent national id, passport, company documents, no luck. I am very unsatisfied.

BUYER BEWARE

BUYER BEWARE: This review is specifically written on a particular shop on Etsy: Bohn Beauties. The 10mm ring I received was of poor quality. It was very lightweight/flimsy for a large 10mm stone, the ring cage was off center on the shank, and the prongs were not spaced evenly. For a 10mm setting, the cage was very shallow so that when an ideal cut lab grown diamond was inserted in the setting, light could not reach the bottom of the stone to enhance/maximize the sparkle that was apparent before it was set in cage and caused a dark/dead/dull appearance. When I stated these concerns to the seller, Jeanette Bohn, she merely said she uses this "same mold over and over again", as if that makes it ok. I am returning this product and she is incurring a ridiculously high "restocking" fee of 25%/$30+. I would recommend that buyers look elsewhere.

Stole $29 from me

Stole $29 from me. Im a creative. I create alot if things. Ive often tried to use etsy to sell my stuff and always within 24 hrs they close my account/store/listing. They dont make it easy to find out why. I now have new products and I said lets try Etsy one more time. I then saw that they have some $29 fee, so I thought “I should be good”. Still my listing was deactivated and they now have my $29. Im a single mother who is trying to constantly sell things I create….how do you think that makes me feel. Etsy should be ashamed of themselves. They have these strict ridiculous rules to protect THEM, so much they actually lose out. Look at the ratings. But with me yall won, I promise. You can have my $29. I will not try to be a seller with you all any longer and Ill shove my own 92 purchases from your site up my own a**. Be blessed.
