I paid my bill but they let my domain expire. Avoid at all costs!

I paid my bill but they let my domain expire. This really says it all!

I have been a long standing customer of Extendnet ever since the me2uweb days. One problem is that the company behind them keeps going bust but the main issue is that the customer service is truly terrible and their systems do not work.

My advice is to avoid this company at all costs. I now use GoDaddy who are reliable and their support is great. I am moving all my remaining domains to GoDaddy after this most recent fiasco.

Ignore all support tickets - Avoid

I transferred a domain into Extendnet but it was stuck on pending transfer even though I could set up mail ok.
I raised a few tickets but they were ignored and eventually cosed with no comments from staff.
When it came time for renewal I couldn't renew because of the state. A few more urgent tickets were ignored until it expired. I then had to contact nominet to unlock it and using their website I managed to transfer it away and renew it.

I have finally escaped from hosting by extendnet - what a relief!

I originally had my websites hosted by extendnet's predecessor, which was cheap and adequate, but when extendnet took over a few years ago, things started to go wrong. I have had one or two problems needing help and advice - quite possibly caused by mistakes in uploading or something like that on my part - and I have sent ticket after ticket and been consistently ignored. At one point I had about 8 'urgent' tickets outstanding and ignored. The frustrating thing was that moving to a new host involves action by the current host so it took some effort to achieve the escape. I am now hosted by 123reg and it seems much better - there's at least a phone number to call, which I have done, and an online chat facility, neither of which extendnet have. Avoid them!!
