I wrote the Germany site asking for recommendations from their catalogue and their answer was pretty fast saying something like "look on our web"... Really...? Ill buy It from Thomann, better customer service and more sensible shipping costs.

As I purchased a Gibson USA SG, I went straight away on a hunt for hardware replacement parts.
For those who don't already know, Gibson USA's original bridge, tailpiece, studs and so forth, are really worth replacing: you'll have a noticeable, if not dramatic, increase in sustain and the opening of new harmonics. This is something noticeable even to a beginner's ears, not just a small improvement.
I already knew Faber Guitar Germany (yes, they're based and ship from there and are a separate entity, from Faber USA, same company though) as a quality producer of hardware upgrades, from different Gibson forums I follow, and went on their website. There I found better prices than available via resellers, but stopped short of buying the whole suite (locking bridge, locking tailpiece studs, bridge studs and wheels, tailpiece) because there were absolutely no reviews online about the website and didn't want the risk on approx £150.
So I bought everything from a reseller on eBay except for the tailpiece, which I bought from their website, with the idea of testing it.
Pleased to say that all went well: I am based in London, ordered the item on 27th Jan and received the piece on 5th Feb, shipped with recorded delivery.
After swapping and using the Faber hardware on my guitar, I can also comment that the description of the performance of the items on the website, may sound boastful but is accurate. I am delighted with the leap in sound performance of my Gibson and love the colour and aged feel of the hardware (I went for aged gold).
