Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 1,173 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers report that the social media platform is often flooded with disturbing and inappropriate content, and that reporting such content is ineffective. Users frequently experience account suspensions and deletions without clear reasons or avenues for appeal, often after years of active use, leading to loss of memories and important community connections. The customer service is widely criticized for being non-existent, unhelpful, and impossible to reach, with automated systems offering no real solutions. Additionally, the website and user experience are often described as sluggish, full of ads and scammers, and prone to technical issues like constant identity verification requests and login problems. However, some customers also noted that the platform can be good for social engagement and connecting with friends, and appreciate features like groups, marketplace, and events for daily life.

Meta Verified Support Failed to Resolve a Critical Account Issue

I subscribed to Meta Verified expecting enhanced customer support, yet my experience has been deeply disappointing. After losing access to my Instagram account due to a suspected compromise, I contacted Meta through Facebook and Meta Verified support channels.

Despite multiple escalations and providing evidence of ownership—including documentation and screen recordings—I was repeatedly redirected to the same non-functioning recovery links. My support cases were closed without resolution, leaving me locked out of my account and personal data.

I have since filed complaints with regulatory authorities and sent formal correspondence to Meta, as no effective assistance was provided through official support channels.

Paying for premium support should not result in scripted responses and unresolved issues. Meta must improve its customer service, escalation procedures, and account recovery systems.

⭐ 1 Star – An unacceptable experience for a company of this size and influence.

If I could give ZERO I would

If I could give ZERO I would. Advertising on here is extremely difficult and complicated, I am amazed there are so many ads on this media.

Ive spent in excess of 4 hours and gone round in citrcles, my driving license which is widly accepted as ID in any government establishment, getting on domestic flights, isn't good enough for Facebook! Its truly oppressive.

Not deleting the profile of my dead mother.

My mother passed away about two years ago. I was able to have her profile placed into a memorial state, but a few months ago I decided that I would prefer to have it permanently deleted. It feels like everyone has moved on, and I’m not comfortable with her profile, photos, and personal information remaining online indefinitely.

I have submitted two deletion requests so far. In both cases, I provided all the required documentation, including her death certificate and proof that I am her son. I also referenced the earlier request that led to her profile being memorialized.

Unfortunately, I have not received any response, and the profile is still active. My first request was submitted about three months ago. I have also been unable to reach support through any available channels.

I would really appreciate assistance in resolving this matter.

My account of over two decades was shut…

My account of over two decades was shut down without notice, without an explanation as to the cause, and without the means to talk to a person or appeal. I use Facebook to communicate with my HOA and neighbors who are only on the platform, to support third-party non-profit organizations, to find out about our local food banks, to get local news, and to buy and sell things on marketplace. I had recently upvoted and supported articles (which Facebook feeds us all based on our engagement with their algorithm) that are political. I have never violated their terms of service.

Facebook has seized info on my biometrics (face structure), IP address, devices and cookies, and other identifying information so that I am unable to ever make an account again, even though I need it for access to information in my community.

This is like the social credit score in China. I cannot connect with friends and business partners on the platform, and I can never upload a picture of my Face if I ever get access via another account.

I have been blocked from a major platform that now infiltrates all aspects of our communities and I have no way to retrieve the information I need, appeal this process, or "unblock" myself. Yet when I was active I saw people on the platform spreading all sorts of prejudiced and uninformed content.

Although I am happy to never contribute another dollar in advertising revenue to FB again but like I said, the other aspects that I need to use - like our neighborhood forum, the marketplace, and our food bank announcements - are now unavailable to me.

To say I am disappointed with these large tech companies including Facebook is an understatement. They have learned how to weaponize AI against ordinary people, and I have no way to appeal this process or get in touch with a human. At some point these platforms become so big you need access to at least some part of them to function in society.

Facebook AI is eliminating democratic…

Facebook AI is eliminating democratic members by disabling their accounts. Facebook knows my IP and has my ID and is disabling any account I try to create, because I have deleted accounts with democratic points of view. Facebook is an authoritarian organization that is crushing any civil discourse and ensure only disinformation reaches the US public. They want the USA to be North Korea OBVIOUSLY!!

Account Ban no Warning

I’ve had my Facebook account for over 20 years and it was suddenly disabled with no real explanation and no meaningful way to appeal.

This wasn’t just a social media account to me. It had years of personal photos, memories, and connections that I can’t replace. On top of that, I was the only admin for a memorial page for a deceased family member, and now my family has completely lost access to that page.

I also run a small business connected to my account, and losing access has affected my ability to communicate with customers and continue normal operations.

What’s most frustrating is the lack of any real support. Everything is automated. There’s no clear reason given, no actual person to talk to, and no fair chance to fix whatever they claim was wrong.

After 20 years of using this platform, losing everything overnight with no help or accountability is incredibly disappointing. Users deserve transparency and a real appeal process, especially when so much personal and business information is involved.

Marketplace access suspended

I accidentally forgot VPN on when visiting Facebook. I have to use VPN for my work and for forgot to turn it off (humans make mistakes). Then their non-intelligent AI thought I was a bot and immediately suspended my access to Marketplace. It's been 3 months now and there seems to be no way to reverse this.

I have been on Facebook over 10 years and just for 1 small mistake, I get punished like this. Feels so unfair.

Facebook probably hates me.

Disabled my account when I just registered. For no apparent reason. I guess they don't want me on there. It seems like I am not the only one, though.

I only use it for groups, messaging, and staying in touch with friends. But the interface has become too cluttered—finding the right privacy settings or anything else is a real challenge. Why add so many settings and then hide them?

I'm a coder and I have a "Meta for…

I'm a coder and I have a "Meta for Developer" account. I login to such account using my personal Facebook account. I've realized a Meta app that is there in their store. So as you can imagine, differently from a standard FB user I have to periodically review policies, app permissions, etc. at least every year. I've just passed another yearly test 1 month ago or so.
A few days ago, making access to my FB account I was blocked by a message saying I have to scan my face. OK, I don't like it at all, but I have business there so I did it. After that, my account was completely blocked. No explanation, no messages, no nothing. Trying to access simply result in
"Sorry, something went wrong."
So now my personal account cannot be used for no reason. And that wouldn't a big problem per se because I don't post anything and don't use Facebook, but it's a big problem because I need it to make access to the Meta Developer platform to do developer tasks and comply with mandsatory updates of app/policies/permissions.
In other words at the next mandatory app revision, since I'm not able to login, my app will stop working dorever and all my clients will no be happy with that!

Imagine how reliable is this BS platform: will you ever use it for something like making a business AI app?!! Knowing that at any moment can stop working with no reasons/explanations?!!! Meta is a platform to consider only for wating time and nonsense, not for business.

I repeat the message of CindyS: FB has been kicking a number of people off their long standing accounts for no apparent reason. In order to appeal, a person has to log in.

Since I'm not a standard user, but a Meta Developer, if they don't fix the problem I'll try the legal way because I can't simply delete all and stop using this stupid platform, I have clients to respond to and they rely on my software.
The real problem is that I though I could rely on them for business. I shouldn't have take that into consideration in the first place because they are a bunch of idiots.
... UPDATE ...
After 1 month I've solved the problem, creating a new profile, PAYING to buy the "Meta Verified" service, and with that I was able to chat with the support that solved the bug on the other damaged profile (obviously without explanations). It was a hard path but in the end I solved the problem. Now I've added all the pages and app to the Business Suite adding 3 admins, so if one profile get corrupted at least I still have 2 other way to access my business assets.

Shockers

Shockers. Someone reports my page for not disclosing using AI which I have not. They ask me to respond through a link and then the link does not work and then do not respond. Furious. Close the bloody lot for all I care now.

So now I'm convinced this is a phishing message, but Meta you allowed it so you get to keep the one star.

Nowhere near what it used to be

Nowhere near what it used to be. Asked for a couple of bacon sandwiches and were told it was now a lunch menu and couldn't order them. So ordered Ham, Egg and chips, also a fish finger ciabatta. Both extremely badly cooked. Haddock goujons? Well overdone. Eggs didn't look good at all, and the chips were to be fair bloody aweful. Just overpriced muck. Won't be going back even though we pass by two or three times a week.
