…Personalized experience, Kerry-Ann is top-notch
My wife and I visited Scotland from August 19-26, 2024.
Kerry-Ann Cockburn, Peter Mitchell, and Fairways Scotland were terrific in all phases of planning, tours, hotel, transportation, and ensuring that our "lifetime list" trip was a memorable experience.
Upon our arrival at Edinburgh airport, Kerry-Ann was there to greet us. Kerry-Ann is friendly, helpful, and professional. The driver Robbie took us to the Fairmont Hotel in St. Andrews, our "home" for the week. Robbie is a delight, a St. Andrews resident who provided helpful information on our drive to the hotel.
The Fairmont Hotel is fabulous, with restaurants, a bar, exercise facilities (including an indoor swimming pool that I used), and golf onsite.
The concierge, front desk, restaurant, grounds maintenance, and housekeeping staffs were all outstanding, going out of their way to accommodate our requests, making our stay there very pleasant.
Kittocks Pub and La Cucina (onsite restaurants } offered great food, excellent service, great beer selection. With our package with Fairways Scotland, we received a substantial credit for lunch and dinner.
A complimentary full breakfast buffet, with cooked to order items and a full selection of hot and cold food, tea, etc. This was on a daily basis. The service was terrific!
Kerry-Ann listened to our requests and booked a personalized experience. This included the following:
1. Tour of the Royal and Ancient Golf Museum, St. Andrews. Wonderful look through the history of the game.
2. St. Andrews Walking Tour. Fascinating combination of history and culture.
3. AIG Women's Open Practice Round and Final Round.
4. Golf-a round at the Torrance Course, Fairmount Hotel, St. Andrews. Playing golf overlooking the North Sea was a terrific experience.
5. Edinburgh Sightseeing Tour. Our guide was funny,
informative, and entertaining.
6. Transportation-from hotel St. Andrews, Edinburgh, airport transfers.
7. Guides-Kerry-Ann arranged for local tour guides for all our day trips. The guides were informative, entertaining, and provided local knowledge.
Kerry-Ann also met us at the Old Course, St. Andrews, by the 1st tee, to catch up on our week.
This was my 2nd time in St. Andrews, having spent 2 weeks at a bed and breakfast in 1975. My wife was enjoying her first time in this wonderful town.
We mentioned to Kerry-Ann how much we enjoyed the towns, people, food, and landscape of Scotland.
Kerry-Ann is to be commended for her excellent communication with us from the start of planning to follow up during our week in Scotland.
Having spoken with people traveling with large groups, they felt that the personal attention wasn't the same.
My wife and I enjoyed being able to get a more personalized perspective of Scotland. We attribute this in large part to Kerry-Ann's attention to detail,
combined with her friendly manner, plus listening to our needs.
