Unpaid contractor — avoid if working remotely

I worked as an independent contractor for Quick Business Funder LLC (CEO: Douglas Muir) for lead generation and MCA outreach. I was required to pay a $240 security deposit before starting, which was deducted from my first paycheck — meaning I received nothing for Week 1.

After two weeks of work, my contract was terminated without the 7-day written notice required in our signed agreement. The termination email cited only a “change in business direction” with no mention of cause. When I disputed this, they retroactively claimed termination for cause — directly contradicting their own email.

A company representative (Sophia Grossman) confirmed via email that additional payment would follow, but it never did. I am still owed $255 in unpaid wages and reimbursements.

I have filed complaints with the FTC and the state Attorney General. Contractors should be cautious before signing with this company.

They run hard inquiry on your credit report without customer consent or knowledge. Beware!

Family Business Funding ran a credit check on me without approval and without me applying for anything. They ran the credit check through SARMA, that I contacted. They informed me that Family Business Funding are running credit checks on numerous people all the time.

I reached out to the company asking them to explain and remove the credit check with no reply.

Family Business Fund, an exploitative lending corporation, shamelessly preys on vulnerable businesses in their time of need, exhibiting a complete lack of professionalism while attempting to address the situation. It appears as though they utilize a mediator, a debt collector, who conveniently has an attorney on their payroll, thus enabling them to manipulate both sides of the equation.

This company has a racket in place and false advertisement! Beware!!! They will use third party companies and pray on businesses without two years of taxes that disqualify them for regular SBA backed loans. This is why they are here to make business have the failure rate they do while using the guise of “access to capital”

I took out a loan in which there was to be 90 payments of 157. Today there is now 91 payments which means that you charged me when you shouldnt have anymore. I try to reach out several times across several days to confirm stuff and never get a response.
