I returned a speaker to FBT in January…
I returned a speaker to FBT in January after a subwoofer had blown within warranty. I have a two year warranty and only purchased the speaker in Oct 2025. I had to pay for carriage to return it through DPD, only for FBT to advise me that DPD have delivered the speaker damaged. This is the issue of the courier, but anyway, this added further costs to the repair, for an issue that shouldn't really have happened so soon after purchasing.
I was then advised that they couldn't repair the original issue without repairing the carriage damage, but that they would have to wait for a part until the end of February to then carry out the repair. I have had NO communication from FBT in 5-6 weeks, I chased an update last week and was told that the part had come in but they "didn't think" they would get around to repairing it last week, but would look into it and come back to me with an update. I still haven't heard anything so have chased an update again today only to be told I have to speak to the original shop I purchased it from and ask them to contact FBT for an update.
FBT are charging for labour, even though the issue is under warranty, as well as the carriage costs both ways, putting the costs in excess of £120. I have missed several gigs in the meantime because I've been without the speaker. Their customer service is appalling when you speak to them and as I say, I have been kept waiting now for 5-6 weeks with no update and going well past the estimated time of the end of February for the part to come in so they could carry out the repair. The warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on. I've ended up being without the equipment for 6 weeks, out of pocket by a over a quarter of the original cost and all within 6-7 months of purchasing the item, with a seriously lacking customer service experience. I will NEVER purchase a piece of FBT hardware again, avoid!
