I bought a couple of these lovely little lamps to light up dark corners of my back yard. They are very versatile: hands-free or switch, a variety of ways of hanging them. They are battery-powered, so all I had to do was insert a few AAs and attach the back-plate to my shed with the screws provided and there I was! Perrfect for my needs. Tip: I partially covered the PIR sensor on one of them with a bit of insulating tape to stop the light being activated by my bushes wafting in the breeze. A no-fuss, no-electrician-needed answer to your outdoor light needs. Would make a neat lantern for your tent, too, if you're going camping.

While this light was exactly what I wanted, it is a massive pity that there is no way to decrease the PIR sensitivity. As a result the light is triggered by any movement, such as cars on the roadway, instead of someone coming up to the front door. Apparently the range is 4 meters, and for my needs it needs to be 2. And with no way to change that (something that really should be considered in the next version of this light) this is currently switched off until I can work out a way to decrease the PIR sensitivity.

I have one of these hanging on a fence post. When the back door opens it illuminates the step down into the yard and part of the yard. I originally ordered two but only needed one. I’ve found the lamp lasts about a year, batteries need replacing every couple of months, depending on use. I just received two more that I have stored ready for when I need them. These, for me, are a safety essential and much more affordable than having a wired outside light installed.
