Solid chunky cabling unlike cheaper lighting systems. Cable cap supplied to blank off unterminated end to maintain weather-tightness is a good feature. Nice level of illumination (I have the warm white lights). So far so good re weatherproofing (and they’ve been well tested over the last couple of weeks). The extra sealing of the leds and the chunkyness of the cabling gives much more confidence in their longevity compared to cheaper systems.

Even after replacing the wire the squirrels had eaten, one four-year-old 10m length of Connect Pro fairy lights refused to illuminate for more than 24 hours, so I bought a new 10m length. Having been stuck up a tree for 4 years, after repairing squirrel damage, the other two 10m lengths are still going strong. I assume there's soya in the insulation. It's a tough product to rate. On the one hand, as time has proven, they're durable, but on the other hand, they're very expensive. I've awarded three stars because of their cost and where they're made. They must be one the few products made in China that lasts longer than five minutes, but as they're made in China, someone is making a killing and I am not happy about my money funding their lavish lifestyle. If they were made in the UK, I'd be more than happy to spend the asking price or pay even more. I need to buy 30 meters of Festoon lights and based on my experiences with their fairy lights, they will get my business, however, at just shy of £300 (December 2023), they will have to wait for my order. As is often the case, the best products are rarely discounted and I am yet to see the Connect Pro Festoon range come up in any sale. Do I recommend: If you want a durable product, can live with them being manufactured in China and have the cash. Yes. Will I buy again: I just have. Yes.
