Manufacturer replacement for KitchenAid refrigerator was relatively easy to install. Anyone with decent household maintenance/repair skills should be able to do it in less than an hour. Only tools required are screwdrivers/nut drivers. Toughest part of installation is connecting wiring harness from ice maker to freezer; the rest is a piece of cake. There are videos available on line showing the process. Bottom line: if you can get the old unit out, you should be able to install the new one.
