Lol... they are a joke.

They lure you with a promise of a job on platforms like LinkedIn. If you just give them ANY contact (applying for example, cause maybe you are looking for a job) they send you mails and chatbots on linkedin to push you into their net even more. Once you arrive on their platform, there is no job, you can just give them money to have a profile on their teaching community. YOU (a person in need for a job) must give them money even before finding a single student. If you do the profile but don't subscribe (cause the subscribe clause obv is in the end) they start sending you fake students (AI BOTS) that pretend they are into lessons but ehy... you need to subscribe first.
Just copypaste such messages in any program that can identify AI written script and the trick is shown.
This is bordeline scam.

Hello Carlo,

First of all, thank you for contacting us.

We regret to inform you that the job offer is an invitation to register as a teacher on the portal by posting an advertisement for the subject you teach so that students can find you and contact you. You can post up to three advertisements free of charge, provided they are for different subjects.

We apologise for any confusion this may have caused.

We confirm that we have taken note of this misunderstanding and have referred it to the relevant department so that they can take it into account and prevent the same situation from recurring in the future with other users.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.

Kind regards

Complete scam to get lots of £9 signups. Avoid!

Very poor. The tutors they advertise do not respond. Trouble is, you need to £9 to discover this. The entire thing is a scam to get lots of £9 signups from people. Avoid at all costs.

Hello David,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We apologise for any inconvenience or confusion caused by the previous subscription system.

We would like to inform you that we have now removed this monthly subscription: contacting teachers is now completely free of charge and does not require any payment.

With regard to automatic renewal, this information was indicated in the terms and conditions, which must be accepted at the time of purchase. However, we understand that the experience could be unclear, so we have made these changes to offer a more transparent and accessible service for everyone.

We appreciate your comments, which help us to continue improving.

Kind regards,

Scammy, Spammy, Hammy

They advertise positions on job boards, through they are a jobs board themselves, and there is no set job that you are applying for. They make the process look like a job application, though it's not. At the end they ask you to pay £29.90 for increased visibility on their site. Timewasting. Scammy. No integrity.

Some may do well, but it's not for me.

I never received any enquiries, so I decided to cancel my account. They kept asking to verify, i.e. to pay, which led to my conclusion they only would put us forward if we were paying subscribers. That's not possible in my current situation.

Unfair Auto-Renewal With No Reminder – Avoid This Platform

I signed up for FindTutors’ Verified Teacher subscription in June 2024 and stopped using the platform just a few months later. I assumed my account would not be renewed, especially since I received no reminder, no email, and no warning before being automatically charged again in June 2025!

When I contacted customer service to explain the situation, they refused to refund me and only offered account credit, despite me not having used the service in over 9 months. Their cancellation process is confusing, and there’s a clear lack of transparency around renewals.

Be cautious as this feels like a deliberate setup to catch people out with auto-renewals. I’ve reported the issue to Citizens Advice and Trading Standards as I believe it goes against UK consumer protection laws.

A Practical and Accessible Platform for Growing Your Tutoring Career

FindTutors is a helpful platform for connecting students with tutors across a wide range of subjects and skill levels. The site is easy to navigate, and creating a tutor profile or searching for available tutors is straightforward. I appreciate the subject filters, flexible location options (online or in-person), and the ability to see tutor ratings and reviews before making a choice. One standout feature is how it allows direct communication between tutors and students, making scheduling and lesson planning smoother. However, some tutors may find the platform a bit competitive, and visibility might require regular updates or premium options. Overall, Findtutors is a reliable and efficient platform for those looking to learn or teach effectively, especially in academic subjects.

Poor platform for tutors

This is basically an online version of one of those local publications that constantly ask you to pay for advertising. I have been contacted 3 times by potential “students” but all with the same wording and none ever replied to my email response to their “enquiry”.
They constantly tell me to upgrade my ad, but can’t tell me anything about their website stats

AVOID - SCAM!!!

Speaking as a tutor who previously had a profile, this is an absolute scam. I constantly received bot-like enquiries for irrelevant subjects. I also once highlighted my profile which did nothing and cost £30. Months after, without warning, the platform tried several times and strange integers to charge the amount! I checked to see if I was subscribed to any payment plan and was not. There was also no way to change my payment method which I found very suspicious. AVOID IF A TEACHER OR A STUDENT - there are much better platforms that aren't trying to just take your money.

Scam

Scam. I don't believe the students or posters are genuine. I stopped using this site for a while as the poster I responded to was con-artist.

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. they charge you monthly under a different name to hide the payment. they charge you whether you contact any tutors or not. i have been charged £171 over the past 9 months and emailed one tutor and had no reply. there is no confirmation email to say what you have signed up for and no ongoing emails regarding payments or anything. when you contact them to query they are 'unusually busy' so dont respond.

A lot of scammers in their ads

They don't scan who posts their Ads. Apart from 2 exceptions, there were only scammers from the Philippines. Most of the ads that were suggested by FindTutors were from people/companies whose sole contact was a WhatApp number... from the Philippines. I just deleted my account, after a few months as it has been an useless for me and I don't feel that my information was totally safe.
