Inappropriate Business Practices-and I'm not even a customer!
This company allowed someone to open a fraudlent account under my name and ssn that I only found out about when Web Bank showed up as the one and only negative mark on my credit report. I contacted them requesting the basic information they claimed was "my" account, like the items purchased and the address they delivered to, but they wouldn't do it. Why? Get this...it's was because I couldn't verify the account belonged to me using my own information! But I started receiving collection letters, so I tried again, by mail, to get the receipts and other basic information about this debt they claimed belonged to me. Instead of simply sharing "my own information" with me, they responded with a generic "insufficient evidence" letter back, saying I still owed them almost $400 and to pay up. All this was after they already ruined my credit scores, so all I could do now was fight to have it removed. In order to do this, though, since the debt was LEGITIMATLY NOT MINE, I had nothing to prove it wasn't me. Without them showing me the account details, like how the initial, and only, payment towards this account was made (when the items were originally ordered, I assume) or the delivery address or phone number given to them, I had nothing to compare my info to. They refused to do anything but flood me with letters. Then, once they knew the account was opened fraudulently, they still went ahead and sold the debt to some other, unaware, third-party debt collector, which meant I had to start this whole process over again. And I did, but now, all this new company could do was tell me I had to get that information from the original creditor because they didn't have the details. Of course.
There is no doubt in my mind that these companies understand that by splitting up a purchase and/or customer's account into the hands of multiple companies, they can easily pass someone they don't want to deal with back and forth until they finally give up, leaving the businesses to come out on top, every time.
In no reasonable world should it be ok to accuse someone of stealing from you/owing you money while you exact consequences against them, very long lasting ones, without AT LEAST producing what evidence is available to the accused. Even our Justice system says someone should be innocent until proven otherwise. So what does that say about how this company does business?

I've had a good experience so far with receiving the couple of products I ordered. There was one item I got that was incorrect but they got me the correct item before Christmas.
Fingerhut - sending used products - clear fraud
I purchased two (2) pair of shoes from Fingerhut. They sent me two (2) pair of shoes that were obviously worn/used and most likely returned by another customer. They asked me to send the shoes back to them. They have the shoes I returned and claim they did not send those shoes to me. Their response: They didn’t send the used shoes to me.
They continue to bill me for the shoes and have now reported to all three (3) credit bureaus that my payments are behind, negatively impacting my credit rating. In reading over the many negative review concerning Fingerhut, I am contacting a couple of attorney firms to have this legally settled. I am thinking that all the folks that have been harassed and lied to by Fingerhut could take part of a class action settlement lawsuit against them.
Please contact me if you’re interested. Based on all the negative responses online, I am sure a case against them is justified and would be a win for those defrauded.

I bought a racecar for my nephew for his birthday i was so excited for him to get it to find out it did not work. The car was suppose to blowvout smoke and they expect me to sendvit back i have to pay shipping im so upset!!
worst company ever
worst company ever! i tried their freshstart program, what a joke, credit builder my a...paid my bill on time and still got charged in my checking's, over drafted, called them, told them it was already paid, and they tried taking it again the next day causing another overdraft, when the bill had been paid 3 days prior with my alternative payment method which i set up way back on oct 10th, so now I'm suing them under the consumer protection laws for "unauthorized electronic funds transfer" their permission to use my checking's had been revoked 3 days earlier and my bill was already paid and will do nothing about their mistake due to their employee laziness. so I'm suing them and they will pay for the damage they did to my credit and the 2 overdraft fees i have to cover, all for nothing but Fingerhut laziness, they wont even credit my account the $55.92 they cost me, like any good company would and should do, good thing there is more then one way to make a corrupt company pay. why we have consumer protection laws!
Bad experience
Bad experience, hard to get out of your record I had an account with them 10 years ago, I didn’t own anything but I stopped using it and they closed it, this still show in my credit why?? Even the company I hire to clean my credit hasn’t been able to delete this from my record
Worthless
Been with these guys for a little over a year and almost done paying off what I’ve purchased with them… Apart from overpriced items their interest rates are sickening and their are always raising your credit limits to try and trap you into more debt with them but I’m at $92 with them even tho prior to the interest I was at like $81 once I’m done paying off what I owe I will no longer use them ever again and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use them…
If I could give it a zero I would
If I could give it a zero I would. I have had fingerhut since 2017 and never missed a payment til this month. A mistake was made which didn't have anything to do with me and my finances were affected. I called them and told them. I had been paying for insurance I thought that would cover my account. I found out that insurance didn't cover my account. So what was I paying it for. I want my money back for the insurance. Then I will pay them. They are a rip off anyway.
fingerhut does not treat there customer…
fingerhut does not treat there customer well. they don't help out with payments. All they want is there money. they don't care at all. I will never shop with them again. They don't care what kind of position your in. This is the worst place I ever shopped at.
Thieves
This is the most disreputable company I've ever done business with. On top of closing my old account without my knowledge or consent they have now informed me they are charging me $99 every 3 months for insurance on my account.I now have to go through a bunch of phone calls and paperwork in an attempt to try to have it removed. Close them down!!!
Fingerhut is absolutely garbage…
Fingerhut is absolutely garbage company. I opened an account. Used $30-$40 monthly. Paid balance off in full except for June 2024. Never late always paid in full. June 2024 had less than $30 balance. Paid in full when due. Payment posted 1 day late. And now credit score dropped 30+ points. This had nothing to do with me and everything to do with day due date fell on. Don't open account. Garbage
Buyer Beware
As a consumer, it is important to know that companies like Fingerhut. The cost of goods is significantly higher than you can buy elsewhere, and their interest rates extremely high at 29.99%. Fingerhut is in bankruptcy for a reason. Shop elsewhere is the best option.
They are willing to work with me to raise my credit score with a 2nd chance type situation.
I am happy that they let me try to build my credit back up once again even soon after i was put into collections with them. I was a bit sad tho that there are things that i hoped to purchase but either they didnt have my size or they ran out of product. It is nice tho that i do acknowledge the fact that they try to change up the items they have for sell.
Don't trust them
Don't trust them, they sell crap products for a high price. I paid $239. For a Hisense tv and it didn't even last two years. They sold me junk and wouldn't do anything when I told them how it failed to work after not even having it two years.
Warning: Fingerhut's Negligence with Customer Information
I'm compelled to warn potential customers about my harrowing experience with Fingerhut. Despite my repeated attempts over several months to rectify a fraudulent account opened in my name, Fingerhut has shown utter disregard for customer privacy and security.
Shockingly, Fingerhut extended credit to an unknown individual using my personal information. This unauthorized account has caused immense stress and frustration, impacting my financial well-being and personal security.
Despite my relentless efforts to resolve this issue through conventional channels like customer service, email correspondence, and even reaching out to the CFO and CEO directly, Fingerhut has remained unresponsive. Their lack of concern for rectifying this blatant case of identity theft is deeply troubling.
It's evident that Fingerhut prioritizes profit over customer protection. Their casual handling of sensitive personal information and their indifference towards rectifying fraudulent activities demonstrate a complete disregard for customer trust and safety.
My advice to anyone considering doing business with Fingerhut: proceed with extreme caution. Entrusting your personal information to a company that shows such negligence and apathy towards customer privacy is simply not worth the risk. Avoid Fingerhut at all costs.
What went wrong Everything
What went wrong? Everything! From the start I was supposed to have deferred payments until April 2024 but they started taking payments out by automatic withdrawal in December 2023 yet they are telling me I missed a payment for the month of march 2024 because the payment I made didn’t cover the increase in monthly payments that I knew nothing about mind you I only opened this account to help my credit score but because of the lack of information and communication my score will probably drop I said that to say this I do not recommend anyone to do business with this company I never will again
This place is horrible
This place is horrible. I have been arguing with them back and forth for a month now. When I got the account, I was using a PO BOX. I didn’t even have a shipping address. They refuse to let me add one, and they put my account on hold, till I show them a bill with my entire name on it. I sent them my ID, my Social (last 4) and my electric bill, which most know it doesn’t include your full name on it. I said “I’m not giving you my first born”. To top it off, they lost my information 3 times, and then expect me to send it AGAIN through an email they hadn’t received it through the 3 previous times. I hate this company, and I do mean hate. This company is not work the stress and aggravation. There are others out there that aren’t so petty. Avoid the third world companies. They aren’t worth it! They deserve ZERO stars. Horrible customer service, even when you go higher up the food chain.
