Glasgow Angling Centre Reviews 

Ordered some replacement laces for my waders and was sent the wrong set and was advised to return them which I promptly did. After chasing was told they had not received the returned goods and would not replace the original order and that I should complain to Royal Mail. I must say the experience was frustrating and shoddy - even told that I only shopped with the store sporadically as if that was good enough reason not to value my custom. Will not shop with them again.

Great customer service. My new rod broke first cast. I sent a photo to Glasgow Angling, they dispatched a replacement section. It arrived next day, at my home in southern England. All free of charge - excellent!
This is the best mail order site for fishing gear.

Antiquated website, many items not in stock. They will send you part of an order and not give clear delivery times for out of stock items. Trying to chase customer services is a nightmare. I’m still waiting on items ordered in February!!!!!!!

All in all a very unpleasant experience, use another company that looks after and appreciates their customers

I order a reel late afternoon on Thursday, they sent me and email and text message telling me it had been shipped mid day Friday, arrived Saturday morning. Can't pick fault at all. Will definitely be using again.

I recently ordered something from their website. When the item arrived one of the clips had broken off. I contacted them about it and The item was replaced quick time. They apologised to me for the inconvenience and sent a replacement right away. Really good service.
I would also like to say that i have phoned this shop a couple of times and asked a few questions about things i wasnt sure about. I have not been fishing long so the questions i had were pretty dumb questions for an experienced angler😂. The guy who i spoke to on the phone was brilliant. He took his time and fully explained everything to me. He didnt have to do this and i am very thankful that he did. This kind of thing goes a long way. We need more people like this around.

Ordered the Sunday 29/8 of the Bank Holiday weekend. Arrived on Tuesday 31/8. I would say that is amazing service, as I live in Devon!

Used Glasgow angling mega store a heap of times in the past. Though I will not be using them again ever, firstly the last time I checked moray wasn't part of the highlands and it's not an island either I was charged £10 postage I reluctantly payed it. They use ups as a courier and everytime I use a company that has them as a courier. I can never find where it's been delivered to as the pick up point is always different. It has taken over a week to be delivered and it's arrived somewhere in town. I bought other lures on Tuesday from Portsmouth and the arrive yesterday and the postage was £1.50. So if you want to get robbed go to Glasgow....angling... still don't know where the pick up point is for my lures as the ticket that was stuffed in the side of my door unreadable.

Strike one..they overcharged me for some soft lures, priced them all the same, but they were different sizes. Strike two.. I ordered a rod, when it came, it was broken, took it back and they quizzed me like I had done it! Strike three, 26/6/21, ordered some gear £60+. They tried to charge me postage to Highlands and Islands! I live in Cumbria. No apology, not even "oops sorry". Not typical of Glasgow I know, but I wont be buying anything else from them.

Honestly can't rate this company highly enough.

I recently purchased a Penn lure combo and on the 3rd wind in the roo tip section snapped. This happened at 3pm on a Sunday - I phoned the Glasgow branch and absolutely no quibble what so ever said it must be a faulty blank and shipped out another rod section which arrived at my door 2 days later.

Customer service great, knowledgeable lads and I have since purchased an Abu7000 reel which again arrived within 2 days of ordering.

My go to shop for all things fishing!

I placed an order on 17th May, I have now had a mail one week later to say it has just been despatched. In this day of Mail Order customers expect deliveries to be shipped same day or next day. Realistically I will receive my package on 26th or 27th May - 10 days after placing the order for something that is in stock and can be put in a Jiffy Bag!

Appalling customer service. Ordered a fly line winder and half way through winding the fly line off my reel the winder fell off its clamp due to faulty manufacturing. Customer service suggestion to avoid getting the inevitable twist in the line ' wind it off the line winder by hand and then untwist it on the lawn.' Why did I buy a line winder in the first place!
A faulty product is understandable but good customer services might have said 'apologies how can we help put it right.'

Placed an order on 16may for on stock items, called on 19may to check how long my order will take to arrive, I was told to expect it around the 24may, that's 8 days to receive my order. When I asked the reason for such a long delivery, I was told they are very busy with over 700 orders per day, well done to you, but may I suggest that you increase your staff numbers to accommodate your demand, placed 3 other orders with different on 16may, most arrived on 18may and the last order on 19may, Glasgow angling centre order arriving on 24may. Step up guys. Look after your customers so we can continue looking after you. Called again 20 may, order still sitting at the store awaiting collection, spoke to such a rude Scottish male, it was like he was in a rush and didn't want to assist at all, the answer I got was, "you got to wait mate, you (might) get it next week." What a joke!

My recommendation is, do not buy from these Fishing Mega Stupid Store, buy from eBay or any other tackle shop and enjoy receiving your tackle in 1-2 days max, most tackle shops post very quickly, what a bad experience, all they want to make is profits and let customers wait forever using the cheapest and slowest possible delivery service, in fact they don't even get the item posted within 1-3 days, 5 days later still sitting there in the store.

Never ever again I will place an order from these SLOW DELIVERY STORE!

Very poor service. Ordered 2 rods & according to the delivery page, it was due for dispatch in 4 days. When it didnt arrive I called and the phone message said 7 days. When it still didnt arrive and I managed to speak to someone, I was curtly informed that they had no idea why it hadn't gone out. The employee was surly and no apology was made. The rods did arrive after 17 days, well packaged and with two catalogues I immediately binned. The bad reviews are right. Great website, terrible service.

Great selection compared to most shops, but sadly they are either incompetent of thieves.

They forgot to include and item in an order, claimed would send it to me and even after 3 more orders, never did so. More fool me for having continued to shop with them for another 6 weeks, as now the same with another order, this time 2 items missing.

I'm not even going to try to get it sorted on the second order, as all they do is make promises, keep fobbing you off then eventually ignoring your mails altogether.

Seriously don't get why they have put so much work into a great site, solid selection and prices, simply to screw things up with terrible service. I strongly suggest you avoid, as they are great when things go right, but anything goes wrong, you are the one that will pay for their mistake.

Done a lot business with Glasgow Angling. Working in the Construction Industry, I know how frustrating it is just trying to get basic items, but though some products are out of stock, this company cannot be held responsible for the very difficult trading conditions we ALL find ourselves in. Just a pity I can only give 5 stars! Would be a lot more if it was possible.
