Since 2022, Fit3D has required all customers to pay a monthly service fee—similar to a phone plan, there is both hardware and a service layer involved. I bought a $10,000 scanner from them…

I bought a $10,000 scanner from them and never got it to do a single successful scan. Not even for set up, let alone a paying client.

My team and I have spent months and months since 2022 trying to work with customer support. When we can finally get ahold of them a do the same diagnostic test that we always do, they will send us a replacement part. Which has always had the same faulty issue, and takes months to get since nothing is ever in stock.

This been one of the biggest financial mistakes. Words can’t describe how much stress this faulty product has caused for our small business.

Do not use this service!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I reactivated my account with Fit3D expecting to resume using the scanner without issue. Unfortunately, it has been nothing but ongoing problems.

After significant troubleshooting and back-and-forth communication, they were able to get the scanner to work one time. Since then, it has stopped working again and repeatedly tells me that my account is not valid. Each time I contact support, I’m told that something has been adjusted “on the backend” and that it should now work — but it never does. I continue receiving the exact same error code.

On 2/15, I requested to cancel my account due to these unresolved issues. I was told the request was “escalated” to someone else, but I never received any follow-up. Despite requesting cancellation, I have now been charged for another month.

It is extremely frustrating that there is no way to reach a real person. All communication appears to be handled by AI or automated responses, with no accountability or resolution.

I strongly advise others not to sign up for this service unless they are prepared to deal with ongoing technical issues, lack of support, and billing problems.

Lots of Important numbers

I did a reboot food program through my pilates center and the Fit 3D is part of it. The information provided by that was helpful to ensure I was losing fat and not muscle. Also it was motivation to be able to compare from scan to scan. I have maintained my weight loss and periodically use the Fit3D just to be sure all the important numbers are still good. My doctor and pharmacist have seen the report which gives them additional information for my care.

Avoid - Planned Obsolescence of Scanners

Use caution when buying products from Fit3D, especially expensive scanners. I own a Pro Scanner (originally 10k+) that is now a paperweight because the windows tablet it came with stopped working.

The tablet is non proprietary, a simple windows tablet. The scanner itself still works. Fit3D refused to provide the software that would allow me to run the program on a different tablet after weeks of pleading to their customer service, bricking my scanner. All they would do is try to sell me their new scanner.

I will never purchase anything from Fit3D again and I encourage you to avoid them as well.

First 3D scan.......

I have never had a 3D scan before and was amazed at what it showed. A lot to work on for sure. It was aa good experience and am pleased I had it done

I needed to update my email address and this was updated in a matter of minutes by Customer Services. Excellent service.

I enjoy having access to a Fit3D

I enjoy having access to a Fit3D. The body composition report provided is excellent to have when working with a nutrionist, fitness or medical professional. The customer services is excellent as well. I recently had to contact the company to update my email and they were very prompt in replying to me and the issue was resolved quickly. All in all, my experience with Fit3D and their product has been positive.

If you’re a business forget it

If you’re a business, this could be the worst investment you could possibly make. Just look on eBay and see how many are being sold. Way more than any other equipment from any other company. They are a relatively small company and they didn’t sell that many and now probably about 80% of the owners are trying to get rid of their machines. I bought my unit in 2018 and was told that I was getting the absolute best and latest model and they upgraded to a much better one about a month after I made my purchase. Then on top of that they reassured me many times that I would never have to pay a software fee and they also were very responsive and picked up my phone calls if I had a concern. Right after I paid them in full, the phone calls stopped being answered, and it suddenly became tickets only with emails that were slow to be answered and often gave confusing instructions. Company lies and tells you that they will include scanning software with purchase of the equipment and they do a full 180 and tell you that you have to pay $100 a month for it. Additionally if they go out of business, you’ve pretty much got a large $7000 paperweight. Save yourself the headache and either go with a different company or buy a used one for cheap. There are many on eBay because owners who bought them brand new are disgusted and want to get rid of them now. I suspect that many of these reviews are fake or just from single end use customers who are not actual owners. Those reviews are worthless because they don’t represent the opinions of actual customers who paid for the whole machine so what if it’s a decent experience but if it’s for a business, it’s a total nightmare.

To clarify a few points:
When you purchased your scanner in 2018, we did not charge a subscription fee. That model changed in 2023 as we introduced ongoing software improvements and new features.

We do release upgraded models over time, like many tech companies, but there was never any intent to mislead you.

Our support process has always been email-based to ensure fast routing and accurate documentation. If you have any open tickets, we’re happy to follow up directly — our current average first-response time is 2–3 hours during business hours.

As for eBay listings, there are many reasons scanners may be resold — especially given the challenges gym owners have faced during and after COVID. You’ll also find equipment from competitors listed for similar reasons. That said, many of our clients have used our sales scripts to reduce churn and grow memberships — helping keep their businesses strong.

Lastly, we want to be very clear: we do not post fake reviews. If we did, there would be a lot more of them. The positive reviews you see come from real customers who’ve had success using our platform.
