I’m not one to write reviews normally…

I’m not one to write reviews normally but this cannot be a coincidence. About two months ago I got a five guys and ended up with food poisoning. Last night, my husband got one, first one since I had my FP and now he has got it! I don’t know if things have changed but we will never eat here again.

Creepy crawly walked out of my burger

Went into this store really looking forward to a lovely burger. Order was all fine and quick service however to then discover half way through eating that a black creepy crawly was walking out of my burger absolutely knocked me sick. It stayed walking around the foil to which I took back to the counter. One staff member told me it was a fly that had flown in. I’m pretty sure I would’ve seen it flying around my burger before landing?? It definitely crawled out of the wrapped up burger whether it was from the foil, the meat or the salad I’ve no idea. The “supervisor” then came over and asked what my order was and they’d make a new one. This was ready by the time I’d sat back down after hearing her ask for a fresh patty to go on. Clearly wasn’t fresh if done that quick. I couldn’t even eat it then knowing what had crawled out just seconds before. £33 down the drain and not one apology or any serious action taken. As I left unhappy with my experience I then saw the same woman sat on the floor at the back of the store in her working gear including apron and hair net smoking a cigarette. This creepy crawly could’ve even come off her shoes or clothes? Absolutely would never return. Oh to add to this, the server didn’t even question whether we had any allergies.

Hi Layla, we are really sorry to hear about your recent experience at our Preston store. This certainly does not sound like our standards.

To explain, everything is cooked to order - if something needs to be remade, we will give the customer the next burgers coming off of the grill to avoid any delays. We do not ask customers for allergies when ordering as this is signposted on the till that customers must make us aware.

We would like to investigate further, please reach out to us via the Customer Feedback form: https://fiveguys.co.uk/contact

A tiny dry bread roll that was double…

A tiny dry bread roll that was double stacked very difficult to eat on the go. The burgers had very little taste . Minimal amounts re the toppings leaving it a very disappointing burger. I really didn't like the peanut oil fried chips only eating 3. Nearly 15 pounds way over priced.

Hi Derek, thank you for taking the time to reach out to us.

To confirm, we do not add seasoning to our beef. The patties and ingredients are never frozen, as we don't have freezers in our stores. Since the burgers are made to be juicy, it may interact with the integrity of the bun; however, the bread is a proprietary recipe of Five Guys and we don't use additives to keep the bun unnaturally 'fluffy'.

We offer 15 free toppings and add enough of each on the burger to have flavour in every bite. Our prices also reflect the fact that everything is cooked to order.

We hope this explains more about your visit to Preston.
