AT YOUR OWN RISK

Forsters LLP nearly destroyed my family member’s life. Their negligence and indifference pushed him to the edge of suicide. I am putting this on record because the way they treated him was not only disgraceful it was a breach of their duty of care.

He was denied his full client file despite repeated requests, made to Emily Exton who completely ignored every email and ultimately blocked him on the server. He was left without representation when staff walked away with no handover, ignored for weeks, misled about the return of his deposit, and charged fees just days before the pandemic without any proper warning of the risks. This wasn’t an error this was abandonment.

The result? He lost his deposit through no fault of his own, his health collapsed, and my family nearly lost him.

And when he tried to hold them accountable in court, Julia Tobbell, representing Forsters, tried to intimidate him rather than accept responsibility. That shows exactly how this firm operates: bully the vulnerable instead of protecting them.

Under the Solicitors Regulation Authority rules and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, my family member had every right to expect fair service, transparency, and proper care. He did not get that. Fees taken under those circumstances should be refunded that is the law, not an optional gesture.

Forsters may hide behind contracts, but that does not change the fact their conduct caused financial loss, emotional devastation, and put a vulnerable client’s life at risk. At the very least, his money should be repaid, and companies like this should not be able to unlawfully disregard rights.

This is not just a review it is a warning. Vulnerable clients deserve protection, not destruction. Forsters would never dream of treating the wealthy like this, but they seem to believe they can abuse minorities and the less powerful.

The transcript from court will be sent to Trustpilot to support this review if Forsters deny it as they continue to do.

Useless in disputes, lack knowledge of standard negotiation tactics

AVOID! This is to do with the disputes team. Incredibly overpriced for extremely bad service. My bill was outrageous, but I assumed because they are supposed to be top solicitors. I found this was not the case, the solicitors on my case did nothing for me and gave the opposition huge concessions. Note the oppositions solicitor was less reputable (local, outside London) solicitor with a much lower rate!!! I would have been better off without them. They are also extremely slow with responses which added to delays. Every time I complained and brought up the fact things were not going well, I was dismissed and given 3 pages of jargon waffle. To make matters worse, they PROMOTED the solicitor on my case who did a terrible job, including sending the opposition a DRAFT of a settlement agreement with my comments on it. I was told it was "no big deal" and "these things happen". They have no understanding how negotiation works and how key information is. Save yourself a lot of money and find a different firm.
