If I could give 0 stars I would - avoid!
If I could give 0 stars I would! I engaged fox to move some items abroad for me. The original quote was for them to pack the boxes but I said I would do so and the quote was updated. I was offered an insurance policy which I paid for to protect my goods in travel. On arrival around £600 of damage had occurred. When I told fox I was told they weren’t covered by my policy as I had packed the items myself. At no time did they tell me the policy would be worthless otherwise I would never have taken it out! Nobody ever said it would not cover the items I packed myself - had they done so I would have sourced my own actual valid policy. Their handling of my complaint was just as shocking. Emails ignored and clearly hoping I would just go away. I was offered a very small amount of compensation, less than 1/3 of the cost to rectify/replace and on top of this I feel I was totally ripped off by paying an insurance policy they knew would never cover me. Sadly the staff could not care less, Mike White in particular just didn’t reply to my email unless I chased multiple times.
Avoid unless you want to be totally ripped off.

As you noted, you chose to pack your goods yourself. Under these circumstances, we are unable to accept responsibility for the contents or condition of items packed by the owner. The protection arranged was therefore limited to specific risks such as fire, flood, or theft involving forcible entry, rather than damage arising from packing.
Full details of the Extended Liability Protection were provided to you prior to booking, including the terms of cover, and these were accepted along with the completion of the required inventory and documentation.
While we were not liable for the damage reported, we acknowledged your disappointment and made a goodwill contribution towards your claim as a gesture of customer care.
We do recognise that some of our responses were not as timely as they should have been, and this has been addressed internally with the team to improve our communication going forward.
We are sorry that on this occasion we were unable to meet your expectations and wish you all the best moving forward.

Barry and Mike were quality
Barry and Mike were quality, they worked there arses off and were so careful with our stuff. Very considerate with trying to keep the house clean, laid matte and film down. Overall couldn’t be happier.

Careless final unload/transfer
The crew were pleasant and the loading went well but not so good the other end. The final 1/4 mile access road to the new property was not negotiable by the large removal lorry so Fox employed the services of a local associate with a Luton van to transfer and ferry the contents in several trips for the last part. (This had been known about from the outset of initial quotation and was charged accordingly). Evidently this was not done with sufficient care, and warnings about speed bumps were apparently ignored, resulting in a number of unnecessary breakages. A vintage suitcase was also found to be smashed and half of a carpet shampooer machine turned out to be completely missing!

Regarding the delivery, the tranship arrangement was always quoted on an if required basis and was only confirmed once access at destination was assessed. Unfortunately, due to the limited approach to the property, a local transfer service had to be arranged to complete delivery safely. While every effort is made to ensure care during such transfers, double-handling and difficult access can increase the risk of minor damage. We are very sorry that some of your items were affected and share your disappointment that this occurred.
Please be assured that the vehicle was fully checked after completion, and no items were left behind.
We appreciate your comments and will continue to work closely with our teams and partners to minimise the likelihood of similar issues in the future.
Fox (Moving and Storage) Ltd comes very highly recommended by us.
We are very happy with Fox (Moving and Storage) Ltd. We have, for several reason, had to leave much of our furniture in storage since we moved back to the UK from France in 2023. We downsized so could not take all our possessions into our new home in one go. We are gradually doing the new property up and hope to take out the rest of our stuff very soon. We have four pallets with them and have removed one so far.
Fox works in a very professional way. We think they are competitively priced. We know they are taking good care of our stuff so we don't have to worry about it. We are happy to pay for professional storage rather than, say, renting a garage somewhere and having to worry about someone breaking into it.
We get regular invoices which we pay via bank transfer but I think there is also an option to set up a direct debit. We have not chosen to do that because we hope to remove our possessions soon and the existing payment method suits us.
Fox are very approachable on the phone. We usually talk to Katherine Rider. She is always helpful, friendly, efficient and polite.
We have no hesitation in recommending Fox (Moving and Storage) Ltd to anyone looking for safe storage of their prized and precious possessions.
