I must say that reading all these…

I must say that reading all these mainly negative reviews disturbs me.
I have been with you for 12 years and have not had any negative experience that I would consider abnormal.
The only problem I have is the length of time it takes to execute the trade when I'm trading. I would actually be okay with that time if there was a email sent out informally so to speak after the trade was made. In that way I wouldn't have to wait the extra 24 to 48 hours find out if my trade was made how much I got it for etc I would much rather not have to have that on my mind.

Definitely not recommended

Never bothered writing a review but share many of the same issues mentioned by others. Took out 2 policies with Britex in the 90s. I didn't read the paperwork properly for the second policy that somehow had a term of 25-30years. Britex went out of business and FPI weren't interested when I complained.
Their IoM customer service has been consistently dreadful for the last 20 years. The people are all very nice but their systems are broken, the simplest request will take 2-4weeks. The advice is usually non-existent or slow. And the fees are outrageous when looked at compared to modern providers. They know that it is is impossible to escape without a major tax implication.
I would strongly recommend that you avoid.

I am on an overall basis happy with the fund choices. However the brokers and intermediaries in UAE are bad. Stay clear of them. Manage your own funds.

Never going to invest again in FPI

Started and Been invested in FPI from 2008.

Unfortunately I was tricked by a broker named Mr. Brian ( Srilankan) who worked for Continental Financial Services in Dubai who then fled from Dubai.

And then without my consent i got informed that my policy has been moved and being handled by some other brokers known as Trillium Brokerage.

I never had a very good interaction with them and therefore stopped payment of my policy. I had invested USD 19500 and over the years it has come down to USD 14000.

I just want it to expire so i can collect the amount and invest it some place else where i get proper response and good returns.

I am weary of investing again in FPI due to this bad experience.

I have been with FP for >10 years but unable to terminate due to lock-in period which I regretted.

I have never received financial updates on your products and charges are much higher than privileged banking customers.

Considering my self managed funds, I don’t feel that any value being your customers.

Do not use electonic comms - until it goes wrong.

A mailed letter to me went astray due to COVID. Luckily, I found out about the problem and an electronic replacement scanned copy was sent to my email (there is also a "Secure Mailbox" available on the portal). However, they insist they will mail future letters for me to my advisor, in Indonesia, which has a highly-insecure postal service. Why not avail either of the available electronic mechanisms already in use, but only when things go wrong ? Why do the advisors email me to say they cannot use email to communicate ? Curious.

Poor communications and unreasonable

Have no issues with performance which was OK but not spectacular (maybe, I have low expectations). I received annual valuations and have had the policy for almost 40 years.

Their proof of identity process is very poor and not aligned with other financial institutions. Unclear exactly what they want (e.g. would have helped if they said they would not accept a policeman's service number and must get his/her name) and some are crazy (they need a Director of a bank (where do you find one of these?) and would not accept the local bank's compliance officer). This process took months and involved a period of 14 days quarantine for me where I could not advance matters).

Communications curt and unhelpful .... treating me like an idiot!!

OK is my opinion!

Have used it many years but not so much any longer in my old age. In my opinion it has worked OK, but on the other hand you have to wach it yourself, there is no automatic service as far as I know!

I was maliciously trapped in a 23 years policy making me able to retire at 75 years of age... who does that? I demonstrated that the number of years was added to the form after I signed it, I even asked to move MY MONEY to a different and more flexible policy, but they would not even accept to discuss over the phone with me. Communications only in writing with delays and inefficiencies. I cannot recover my money, which they treat as if they were theirs.
Worst investment experience in my life.

Avoid

I stopped paying into my FP plan years ago and took my money out. I received such poor advice from FP that I took out a case with the financial ombudsman. FP still hold some of my money and will not release it to me. Awful company. Avoid.
