Went to purchase a new sofa
Went to purchase a new sofa. I speak some French, though not fully-fluent. The sales people I worked with spoke both French and English (not fully fluent, but between their English and my French, we did fine). They answered all my questions, gave me advice on the best options for my needs, showed me several models, listened to what I needed/wanted, and gave all-around great service.
I ended up ordering a customized sofa, which will take 2-3 months to arrive, so it's not quick. Though might have been quicker if I had opted for something on the floor - I'm not sure. They have lots of options for fabrics on all their products, so I'm not sure if everything is built to order or if they have some stuff ready-made.
The showroom was bright and open. When I arrived, the sales people were busy with other customers, but I was still seen to very quickly (within just a couple of minutes) by someone who "didn't technically work sales" but was still very helpful and knowledgeable. He helped me until the actual saleslady was finished with her other customer (a out 15-20 minutes). I was able/allowed to try as many options as I wanted, with the sales guy moving things around so I could access some display models to try. Would definitely return to make a further purchase.
They had a coffee machine, though I don't know if it's available to customers. I wasn't offered, and didn't ask (as I didn't want a coffee at that time anyway). If it is available to customers, either an invitation from staff, or a sign indicating such, would be a good touch. If not, maybe not having it in an accessible area.
They had a minor glitch with their electronic system, taking an extra minute (literally 1 extra minute) for it to load when we were completing the order, but that was it.
I was very pleased with the store, and the service, and can't think of any negative aspects at all.
