A further circle of Dante’s Inferno

Where to start.
Today’s flight disembarked at A69, and due to the age-old German fear of A/C and proper ventilation, that part of the terminal boasted air quality comparable to a roadside toilet on a French motorway, which was particularly enjoyable in combination with the perennially non-functional travelators and a walk of approximately a mile to the end of the concourse.
However, as non-functioning equipment is just about par for the course anywhere in Germany these days, there’s no need to dwell on this minor point.
Food choices at the LH Sen lounge were uninspired and partly stale, but at least the staff are consistent in always being friendly in a Cold-War-Soviet-border-guard sort of way.
The trek to the B concourse is about as clearly signposted as the way to the exit in an M.C. Escher painting and you are taken up and down various stairs and down long corridors to another of FRA’s highlights, a security checkpoint manned by personnel clearly hailing from every conceivable lead nation of quality service, all united in sharing the friendly and outgoing personality and welcoming demeanour of Genghis Khan.
The security process itself is somewhat reminiscent again of Cold War IGB crossings and just about everything has to be removed from bags, belts and watches removed, etc., a true testament to much vaunted German efficiency.
All told, transiting at FRA even for business class and airline high-status passengers is about as enjoyable as having a colonoscopy performed by a gastroenterologist in an advanced state of dilirium tremens while simultaneously having two molars removed by a one-eyed dentist with blurry vision.
Avoid at all costs.

One of worst laid out and inefficient…

One of worst laid out and inefficient airports I been through in 40 years of international travel. Had to use it as a transit airport. Walked miles, no travel actors, most elevators switched off and going through security was painful. Most wasteful use of people. No one could go through a scanner until the previous person had picked up their bag. Frisked one leg then turned me around and frisked the same leg 😒😒😒

This airport is dirty and there is no…

This airport is dirty and there is no sense of efficiency! The toilets are disgusting. The shops were nearly non existent. The airport lounge we went to was small, dirty and not worth us paying business class fees! I would not fly into Frankfurt again if I can help it! An airport should be a destination! Come on Frankfurt I think you can do way better!

Horrible horrible experience

Horrible horrible experience! Do not use this airport if at all possible! My passport was accidentally left in security and when discovered a short time after that, the airport officials would not let me go back to security where I knew my passport was. I am 67 years old and for two hours I was sent on a wild goose chase, knees hurting, missed my flight, another family members vacation plans were ruined! It was a nightmare! Eventually security found the passport and brought it to The time border control. They continue to force us to go from checkpoint to checkpoint and airline to airline to resolve everything. Hours of exhaustion walking miles and miles through the airport, pain and a totally emotionally infuriating experience as they refused welt me return to security.. I was polite throughout, but they were horrible. Do not use this airport! I will be contacting the IS Embassy!!!

This airport is a joke

This airport is a joke, never seen such an inefficient place like this. Be ready to queue at least 30/45 mins if you have a flight in the evening since security checks gates close around 7pm so only 1/2 are available for people (including business class line). The choice of restaurants and cafes after the security checks is ridiculous, be ready to walk 10 minutes at least to discover that the only food available is a würstel. And be ready to die from hunger if you fly at night since everything closes around 9pm until the next morning. Water is between 6-9€. Not to mention that staff is the rudest I’ve ever encountered in my whole life

No Services for Travelers in Terminal B

Dear Frankfurt Airport,
Wish I could rate you a ZERO. The signage is so poorly marked that moving through the airport feels like being in a maze searching for B gates. While in Transit from Scotland to Italy, I encountered nothing but hellishly long queues, with chokepoints and blockages at passport control and security. Oh, and at security for the B gates the female agent patted me down quite roughly, and my husband’s bag was detained and pulled apart for suspicious package of Walker’s shortbread.

After getting through B gate security, we found our gate… but we also found there are no lounges, nor is there a single restaurant inside the secure area of what calls itself an International Terminal. I’ve been in 3d world airports that offer wonderful services.

There was one business selling prepared sandwiches, Quicker’s, and that experience was so dismal it merited a separate review… try to eat a salad with a spoon.

In a nutshell, don’t plan on having creature comforts in Frankfurt’s B terminal, it lacks seating areas. There are no power outlets. There is nothing to ease the journey for a traveler.

Racism and the worst airport experience…

It was the worst airport experience I've ever had, with extremely rude staff. It felt like I was in a futuristic movie "The Hunger Games"—no emotions, no smiles!

Racism! I am Central Asian, grew up in a multinational environment, and have lived in the UAE among many nationalities for over 20 years. In my 40+ years, I have never experienced any discrimination or racism—until now.

We were transiting to Spain for a vacation and going through the hand luggage screening. There was an African associate After we passed through the scanner, my husband couldn’t find his belt and asked the same man about it, but he remained silent. A few seconds later, I politely asked for help finding the belt, and the man rudely snapped at me, saying in a loud tone, “I speak English! I am an American!” When I replied, “That was rude; you could have said it in a better way,” he responded , “I’m being straightforward! There’s nothing to be upset about. Life is easy, take it easy!”

Why couldn’t you take it easy?! You’re working with people—if you’re not happy, find another job! Spain is a contrast to Germany; Spanish people are open, smiley, and polite and our airport experience was one of the best !

Recently returned from a trip to Asia

Recently returned from a trip to Asia. First "welcome" to Frankfurt were a couple of policemen stating "Reisepass / Passports" to the deboarding passengers. What a warm welcome. 👎

Then you have to go through customs twice ?! Never saw this anywhere else. First after "Passport Control" which awaits you next once you passed the police standing in the gangway ! And then after you collected your bags down there.

Strange thing is that you actually cross a part of the departure hall which is freely accessible before you dive down towards the baggage claim. Also never saw this somewhere else. Normally this is strictly divided. Here anybody who wants so could go down to baggage claim.

To mention the baggage claim. It is totally overcrowded. One carousel for 2 flights from which one was delayed but not relocated...

In total a very poor service. But I am afraid normal for the Germany of today...

This airport is a mess

This airport is a mess, and lack monitors and guidance to start off with.
The passport control has extremely rude and impolite staff, won't give you the right info nor greet you.
They'll point and say go there and end it with, bye bye, while not even looking at you.
Some people working the duty free at gates B today are so unfriendly that I wonder why they even work there.
The police at the airport look straight evil if you accidentally step in their way, they won't move, but push you out of the way...
Will avoid this airport at all cost for future travels.

Review: Disappointing Experience at Frankfurt Airport

I recently had a very disappointing experience at Frankfurt Airport. The level of ignorance and poor customer service is shocking for such a major international hub. The staff I encountered were not only unhelpful but also quite rude, making what should have been a smooth transit incredibly frustrating.

What stood out most was the way some staff members seemed to make assumptions about me based on my appearance. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially in an environment that should be welcoming to all travelers. It’s disheartening to see that such attitudes still exist, particularly at a global airport like Frankfurt.

I expected a much higher standard of service and respect, and I hope that management takes steps to address these issues. I won’t be in a hurry to pass through this airport again

So sad I can’t give ZERO stars.

So sad I can’t give ZERO stars.
After Hamburg the worst inefficient Airport I have to transfer to another flight.
We had to fly in the past through Frankfurt.
Every time a new inefficient surprise. Today Pass Control. Around 600 people waiting to get through. No family support.
I recommend: the management need a training by Zurich Airport management.
Zurich for me the most efficient airport in Europe.
Travel safe and have enough time for transfer in Frankfurt. The Bad surprise airport!

Worst European airport experience

The experience of the security check and border control at Frankfurt is the worst I have experienced anywhere. Staff attitude is abysmal and the waiting times are ridiculous. On our most recent visit the x-ray machines in departure area 1B were not working properly and the lazy staff were marching about swearing and complaining to each other while ignoring the waiting passengers. No explanation was provided whatsoever. Management at this airport just do not care about passenger experience
