Check Your Leasing Company and Never Use Free 2M
This company will never agree with a customer and make it so hard to come to any resolution. Only the General Manager at the dealership could make it known that Free 2 Move's treatment was incredibly harsh and most likely not contractual. The tale is too protracted to express here. Eventually I achieved justice but the stress was too much.
Please avoid this company
Please avoid this company. I am currently in dispute re charges they are trying to impose for the rear panel of my vehicle. The vehicle has other charges which I am happy to pay. However I was told the rear panel had been replaced at some point and the paint didn't match ???? not on my watch for the whole 3 years I had this vehicle its never had that panel removed or repaired. They clearly released this would be so hard to prove so now they are saying its the removal of the decals (sign writing) you can still see where they where stuck on. These where installed professionally and I removed them so I would not be charged £100. Do not remove your decals they will charge you saying they are not removed correctly or they can still see where they where on the vehicle. It absolutely shocking 2 different stories for the same part of the vehicle. I am currently going through the dispute process I would strongly advise not to use this company.
DIsgusting company to deal with
One of the worst rental companies to deal with, I used the car for 5 months and return the staff who came to collect told me there is a minor scratch on the rim I agreed and after collection of 3 week later i receive a Invoice for Rim charge as well as multiple scratches which i was not aware of, if the details even the photos which was taken while collection does not show any scratch and suddently after 3 week new phots taken before the repair, additonally they charge me for another subscrition wrongly on my card which until now i am after them for refund. Even When I took the car on rental at first they asked for deposit and other payment which was done 1 week before the car arrival i received a fine notice of course i was not having the car so they removed the fine.
But I will tell you dont get lured by their competitive rate they will treat you my sheep call you by showing you nice green garden and then once you come in you are the dinner, hope you get my point.
All fine until we returned the car, then DISASTER and attempted fraud
We leased a car for five months in the UK. Negotiations, contract signing and all went OK with no real problems. The car was delivered close to on time, but was not clean. We had no issues at all for the five months, and the car worked very well. It was picked up on time at our hotel on the day of departure. We reported a hit and run with minimal damage,in the hotel parking lot, and asked to file an insurance claim as we had paid a lot to insure the car with them, with a five hundred pound deductible. The man who picked up the car said it would be no problem. Then the real trouble started. They sent us an invoice for TWO THOUSAND POUNDS for "damage repair." I repeatedly, by email, phone, and text, asked them about the insurance claim and to take the deductible from our deposit. They kept on sending me an invoice and threatening collections and legal consequences if we did not pay. It took SIX months to finally get this matter resolved with them. I had all the paperwork, all my ducks in a row, and could prove we asked for an insurance claim and that they had no chance of obtaining any more funds from us. This was attempted fraud on their part, trying to collect funds that we did not owe and trying to frighten us by threatening legal action. We will never lease a car from them again.
Shocking service
Shocking. Trying to charge me £750 to return a car. General wear and tare issues. I'd drive the car for 3 and a half years!
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. We leased a car for a 5 week period. It was absolutely filthy on pick up and I am still chasing for a refund 2 months after returning the vehicle. Zero customer service.
Absolutely awful and dishonest company
Absolutely awful and dishonest company. App doesn't work and they're highly corrupt - expect duplicate billing and witholding of deposite. AVOID.
The most corrupt and dishonest company…
The most corrupt and dishonest company I've ever come across
UNFAIRLY contacted debt collection agents
Terrible company after returning vehicle. Charged me £150 for a reported missing rear shelf which WAS present. They said don’t worry £150 charge cancelled, don’t worry about it. I then continue to get payment reminders from PSA finance (who deal with the finance) and call Free2Move again. They say ignore the letters, charge will be cancelled. This happened REPEATEDLY. Few months down the line I get a final notice saying debt collection agents have been contacted pay within 7 days. WHAT ON EARTH. I have a perfect track record of credit virtually being destroyed by inefficiency, poor communication and terrible management. I ended up paying the £150 to keep my credit check in order and to avoid agents showing up to collect. I’ll be chasing the refund, albeit have zero hope. Avoid this company at all costs. I will telling my friends, family, social media. Such a shame as lease period was otherwise fine.
Don't use Free2Move.
Very disappointed with Free2Move at the end of our contract. Very poor (non existent) communication except when they were after money and a very dubious end of contract vehicle inspection report. Basically after more and more money. Avoid if you can.
First Lease Car
This was my first lease car, from an online leasing company but underwritten by Free2Move Lease. I was dreading handing the car back as I had heard so many horror stories. The car was immaculate, but was picked up for damage to one alloy (which I was fully expecting). 1 month later I receive the final letter waiving the £65 fee and thanking me for my custom. I have been happy with the overall process and will now happily consider leasing again in the future.
Horrid company how are they even allowed to trade?
Leased a Berlingo van new in 2019, I was one of the first to have the new model and had nothing but issues. Electrics, gearboxes you name it have failed, been off the road for months. After battles for two years they agreed to replace my van however the new one I ordered came in correct missing optional extras. I refused it and any further product and now all of a sudden they never agreed to reject my old one. During Covid they offered help to people, what they didn’t say this meant extending your lease for three months. Therefore I’m now stuck for even longer with the broken van. They ignore your emails, they don’t communicate with each other or you. Vile people. Awful products. Con artists.
A great option for Expats who need a short term, affordable mobility solution
I just a really good experience with free2move. After arriving in the UK from Germany, it became quickly apparent that getting a car was going to be difficult - normal leasing companies didn't want to touch me due to not having a credit and residency history in the UK (regardless of having a confirm car allowance in my salary package), and the one other company I tried had very limited stock options which were mainly all very expensive premium models. Free2Move was able to offer me a long term rental (1 year) at a significantly lower price than anywhere else, with the added benefit of comprehensive insurance and a consierge delivery service included. The whole process was seamless and digital. The team was responsive and gave me feedback also personalizing my experience with them. If you are an expat who has just arrived in the UK and are looking for a short to mid term solution for a car, I can recommend free3move UK. Special thanks to Esra, Ali and Lisa who all contributed to getting me a car delivered to my door within 3 days of my application. Outstanding job, well done!
*AVOID* My wife and I leased a car via what we…
My wife and I leased a car via what we thought was a reputable car rental company. Turns out it was Free2Move Lease UK, who are heartless and have shown us no empathy whatsoever despite us having to emigrate (due to my American wife's parents ill health) and therefore turn the car in early. The car is in immaculate condition, has barely been driven and as a penalty for handing the car back 6 months early we are being charged nearly £2500. Please do your research, and avoid this company who do not care about you or your circumstances and will drain you of every penny possible.
Awful in every way
Hands down the worst customer service have ever experienced. Different information from different people, hours spent trying to get through to them, a complete lack of understanding and compassion. Continuous errors with their maintenance service, happy to take your money and then not deliver on service. Avoid at all costs and DO NOT lease a Peugeot as this is the company they use
Worst customer service ever!
I too wanted to dispute service charges but it's virtually impossible to contact this company. I gave up with trying to phone them as, despite apparently being first in queue, my call wasn't answered. Emailing them is so frustrating. When you eventually receive a reply, if you then reply to that email it just bounces back! Each time you have to start a new email.
I gave up trying to dispute the charges and decided just to pay it. You'd think that would be straight forward wouldn't you? No! No bank details on the invoice and the make a payment section on website not working. So another set of emails trying to get payee details.
This company simply does not want to engage with it's customers. It won't be getting my custom again.
Avoid in a word
Avoid in a word. They are arrogant, condescending, intransigent, highly contractual and not at all customer centric. They will not hear a customers point of view - during a dispute about a £200 servicing charge I felt was not justly applied I was told that 'a learning point from my experience' of dealing with them is to ensure that I do get all the paperwork in order before returning my vehicle!! The 'learning point' for me is never use free2move again and to tell the world not to use them either.
