Absolutely unacceptable experience

Absolutely unacceptable experience

My son found a snail in his wrap, which is something no customer should ever have to deal with, especially when it’s a ready-to-eat product. This isn’t just unpleasant, it’s a serious failure in basic food safety and quality control.

We received a long, technical response explaining how it “likely came from the lettuce” and outlining their processes. But in reality, none of that changes the outcome - a snail still made it through their system and into food that was sold for immediate consumption.

Being told that they “can’t guarantee zero insects/snails” is not reassuring. Customers expect food to be safe and properly checked before it reaches the shelf, particularly when it’s being eaten without further washing or preparation.

To make matters worse, the goodwill gesture was a €15 one for all voucher, which feels completely inadequate given the nature of the issue, especially as it involved a child.

Overall, very disappointing. The response felt more like deflection than accountability. I would seriously question the standards being applied before buying again.

Freshways Awful Sandwiches

In Beaumont Hospital having a Freshways eco-friendly chicken sandwich. Low fat spread was not very evident. Chicken pieces looked processed rather than fresh. No dressing. It was a dry, tasteless sandwich with approximately 33 ingredients!!! Absolutely awful experience.

I have had a bad experience with this…

I have had a bad experience with this company. It is true that there is almost no chicken in their sandwiches and nothing only fat and breadcrumbs in their stuffing. It is appalling that I never opened the sandwiches before.

It is a shame that Super Valu supports this company and sells these extremely inferior sandwiches to their unsuspecting customers, as well as various petrol stations also selling these.

To back up my experience I phoned their head office in Dublin only to be put through to what the guy said was Customer Service. My tone was at all times quiet and respectful as I explained my experience and that I wanted to send a photo of the packaging to them so they could check out my complaint. The guy asked me to hold and immediately put me through to a voicemail. Shows the contempt they show for customers.

When I checked their website, surprise surprise there is no contact information in the form of an email address for customer service, indeed there are only various contact details for sales agents around Ireland.

I so regret I never opened their sandwiches before under the labels Gym Fuel and Fresh Ways.

I rang them back again but reception just took my number. I have no confidence they will ring me back. This indicates to me that they must be deluged with complaints.

I’m really shocked that I put this bad product anywhere near me.

Because of this the protein content they claim on the back of their sandwiches is completely wrong, worth reporting to the food standards people. Which I will do.

I must be an idiot

I must be an idiot. Everytime I buy one of these chicken and stuffing sandwiches I know there is going to be almost no chicken. Got another one today. It should be called a stuffing sandwich. Their chicken sandwiches are safe for vegatarians.

Never heard of them before

Never heard of them before. Then suddenly start sending me demands for payment for milk delivery. Took over the dairy I use who passed on my address and name without my permission.

Sandwich was awful & bad for your health

Bought one of their sandwiches in Dunnes Stores - terrible tasteless and horrible, how they produce this rubbish is beyond me.
It was also very unhealthy as the sandwich comprised 25% of reference daily intake of FAT and 37% of daily intake of SALT --- YUK

Avoid this brand of food !!
