Correction to Previous Review of Frisco Guns
Correction to previous review: FriscoGuns.com "Taxes and Fees" was 10% of my order total, not 5%. Still outrageous to charge Sales Tax to customers when no Sales Tax is due (due to his being a new business and under the Sales Tax threshold).
Wanted everyone to know about the manipulation going on.
Price Manipulation, BS Fees, Exorbitant Shipping
TLDR: Read the title for my gripes.
Only on the Checkout page do you discover the "Taxes and Fees" charge, which is about 5% of your order. This guy (Mordekhai "Mark" Harroch, FFL # 5-75-085-01-3M-18235) has apparently been doing business on GunBroker.com for so long that he thinks advertising a low price, then adding a BS fee and exorbitant shipping is the best way to do business.
Because of his added fees, he is able to manipulate the price comparison web sites like gun.deals to show his site first.
He is so new, and has done so little business, that he does not need to charge state tax yet. Yet he shows a "Taxes and Fees" amount on the last page of the checkout process that is not mentioned anywhere on his web site. This fee is profit for him. His web site does not break out how much tax you are paying; I believe that is just more money going into his pocket.
His one-size-fits-all shipping fee of $16.95 (which I assume goes higher if you order something heavy, like, oh, ammo) is nothing short of outrageous. That is even more than the retail price I pay to ship most of my returns (to other stores)!
