AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Very disappointing experience with tour to the Grand Egyptian Museum.

We booked a 3-hour guided tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum. From the very beginning, the guide’s English was extremely poor, making it very difficult to understand him. His explanations were basic, lacked depth, and added little to no value to the museum visit.

We raised our concerns immediately and ended the tour early because it was a waste of both time and money.

Despite the tour being largely incomplete and clearly not meeting reasonable standards, our complaint to FTS was ignored and our request for a refund was refused. After that refusal, the company simply stopped responding to us altogether. This level of customer service is unacceptable.

Between the unqualified guide, the poor overall experience, and the complete lack of accountability afterward, this booking was a major disappointment. AVOID!

DO NOT BOOK THIS TRIP WITH FTS

DO NOT BOOK THIS TRIP WITH FTS! SCAMS GALORE!

I have waited to write this review after taking this trip with FTS on XMAS day 2023. I was so appalled and upset that I needed time to heal and regulate my emotions before revisiting the ordeal and reliving the trauma in order to write this review.

Horrendous tour and a completely unreliable company!

Booked a tour from Sharm to Cairo for a day excursion. Tickets were never sent to me! Spent the night before googling around for every number I could find for them as the number provided on the booking just rang out.

When I finally got through to someone they messed up and sent me a different family’s tickets and then when they eventually got it right they left my child off the booking and had only booked me to go!

Bear in mind this was 8 hours prior to pickup roughly!

Then we went to the airport and when we got to Cairo nobody was there to pick us up! We kept being given excuses and then we were told the driver went to the wrong airport.

We went to the Museum which was fine but the papyrus museum we experienced people trying to overly pressure us into buying the ‘art’. At this point I was told tour companies are basically forced to stop there by the government… not sure how true this is. I reckon the tour guide is payed a percentage of sales.

We went to the pyramids where our tour guide lied about prices of entry and inflated them x1000%! At this point I kept quiet because he didn’t realise I spoke Arabic and knew exactly what was going on so I planned to play dumb until me and my child were safe at the airport.

We then went to the market where we were told in the schedule that we would have time to roam and shop. That wasn’t the case…. We were told to go into a singular perfume shop where the staff once again overly pressure people to buy perfume by pretending to give them things for free and then playing mind games to get money from them by manning them feel indebted to the staff. The man at the perfume shop was EXTREMELY RACIST and went around the room asking people where they were from so he could make wholly disgraceful jokes regarding each persons background.

Firstly we were told that it was very early and the first stop would be a tour on the Nile. I wasn’t very interested in this but the majority of people on the bus wanted to go so we went along with it. The tour guide told us it was £15 for the trip before we got there. When we turned up it was not what we were led to expect. We were helped onto a small boat and literally took a ride for less than 5 minutes just a little ways up the dirty brown Nile and then a u turn back. It was at this point I realized we were in for a long scam.

It’s probably worth noting once more at this point that I myself am Arab although I don’t look it, I can understand the language fluently but not being Arab passing works in my favor as people will be very comfortable talking between themselves and not knowing I understand everything being said. Needless to say this came in handy on this trip ;-)

Last stop on this tour was a dirty buffet restaurant where the food was included. The food (inedible mostly)! There’s not much more to say about the restaurant tbh.

When we got close to the airport and he started asking people for tips and trying to guilt them into giving him money, I exposed the man in front of everyone on the bus and showed them info on the internet regarding prices we should have paid etc! I let him and the other guests know that I am in fact Arab and could speak and understand fluently! Everyone was livid and I sent them all links to all the evidence I had found.

Do not trust this company whatsoever! It’s all a money grab!

Worst experience!! DONT BOOK!!

I had booked 3 daytrips from Sharm. Discussing from February, booking in May&June for doing them in Aug (early booking)

Before booking:
-answering after days to whatsapp msg, need to follow up from me in order to get answers
-dont answer at all at emails..
As if they dont want customers, or they dont care

After booking:
-mess up with daytrips // Imagine, if i wasnt cautious i would have lost an entire daytrip and gone to another. Although, I had cancelled another from getyourguide, they send me details for the cancelled one. They seem totally not organized as a travel agency!
-cancel due to weather (???), but i really doubt it (as we were informed later there wasn’t such daytrip. Instead of informing us from the very beginning, they prefered to lie!)
-the office in Cairo and Sharm dont inform each other correctly, so i end up misinformed
-ask for different/earlier pickup time but didnt inform us that a monument would be closed that time, so not to book (!) Thats how much they value their customers!!
-inform last minute about next day’s activity/really stressful, not having a program and not be able to schedule your day!! Frustrating and tiring!

Luckily, they have a good guide, Abanob Hana! 👏🏻 Thanks to him, we rescheduled the city tour in the proper time for seeing the monuments and not find them closed. Plus, he is explainatory and full of information! Always assisting! And always in good vibes

Scammers of the highest order

Appalling. Do not use this company.
All of our tour declined the boat tour... Despite doing this we were taken on it anyway. And charged around £15 a person for a additional tour that we didn't want.

Also paid £60 for a 30 minutes horse drawn carriage tour that lasted 4 minutes and was quicker to walk.
When I questioned this, the tour guide said we agreed to it

Was then demanded , to leave a 5 star review for a very small discount. The guide Ibrahim hamed wouldn't let me leave until I did this, and he took a photo of my review...

The drivers do this tour every day , so spend 18 hours a day driving.

Was informed that the shopping wouldn't be the papyrus factory or the so called perfume factory... And it was, was made to leave the bus to attend both of these places, which again no body wanted to attend.

Shocking and abysmal service, boarding on being conned

Very bad experience.

Very bad experience.
They try to scam you every second of your day. We were in Cairo 12 hours: 4 hours in the airport, 2 hours in shops with extremely high prices ( we didn’t know that they were a part of our program), 1,5 hours lunch (very bad, we were eating 15 min and waiting 1 hour), 1.5 hour road and less than 2 hours Piramids ( we have not been seen Sphinx at all.

I rarely leave negative reviews

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing from start to finish. Our bus showed up 30 minutes late, leaving us standing outside the hotel in blistering heat for nearly 40 minutes before we were finally collected. Not a great start.

When we arrived, we were told we had to pay extra for a two-person side-by-side quad, even though I had booked a two-person vehicle in advance and had phoned the hotline to explain that my elderly mother couldn’t mount a standard quad bike. Instead of honoring the booking, we were upsold on the spot.

That set the tone for the rest of the evening: constant pressure to hand over more money for everything — photos, upgrades, “extras” that weren’t clearly explained. The vibe was less “adventure in the desert” and more “let’s see how much we can extract from each guest.”

The much-touted “fire show” was one performer with poi and a stick, lasting maybe five minutes. Underwhelming doesn’t begin to cover it.

Overall, the evening felt unorganized and chaotic. There was a lot of standing around with no clear instructions, and staff didn’t seem to know what was happening next. The host/rep only engaged with one side of the tent, ignoring the other two sections — which made no sense given there was a stage in the middle that was never properly used.

Another odd disconnect: we were told about the traditional Bedouin lifestyle, yet everything revolved around card readers and digital payment prompts. It stripped away any sense of authenticity and reinforced the feeling that the entire event was built around selling, not sharing culture.

This was my third quad experience in Sharm, and it was by far the worst.

To top it off, we paid extra for a so-called “professional video,” which arrived with a CapCut watermark — clearly edited on a phone, not professionally produced as sold.

Food was very limited and not particularly suitable for children, so families may want to plan ahead.

Bottom Line: If you’re looking for a smooth, well-run, value-for-money desert/quad experience in Sharm, I’d look elsewhere. Late pickup, surprise charges, weak entertainment, questionable “professional” media upsells, and poor organisation ruined what could have been a fun outing

I ordered flowers for a memorial…

I ordered flowers for a memorial service and they came a day late and without the correct names on them! There was no way to change it online so I called and spoke to someone who had the hardest time adding my parents’ names to the card. Turns out he just didn’t bother after 10 minutes of yelling and being condescending/borderline sexist about my ability to spell my own parents’ names.
I would never order from them again.

Unprofessional, Disorganized, and Still No Compensation After 1.5 Years

Unprofessional, Disorganized, and Still No Compensation After 1.5 Years

In September 2023, I booked a day trip from Hurghada to Cairo with this agency, and it was, frankly, a huge disappointment. We originally chose the flight option (and paid more for it) to maximize our time at the key sites, especially the pyramids — which are only open during daylight hours.

We were first told we’d depart at 6:30 am, which sounded ideal. Then the time was suddenly pushed to 9:30 am, and even though we voiced concerns, we were reassured repeatedly that we’d still get the full experience. That turned out to be completely untrue.

By the time we arrived in Cairo, it was basically lunchtime. Our guide said he was ready for lunch. We missed the quiet morning hours and felt rushed through the main highlight of the tour — the Giza pyramids — which were the very reason we booked the trip in the first place. And to make things worse, our return flight was delayed until nearly midnight, meaning we had hours of empty time in the evening when the main attractions were closed. We ended up being encouraged to book extra activities just to pass the time — something we didn’t ask for.

The day felt badly organized, misleading, and poorly managed from start to finish.

I contacted the company right after the trip to share my experience. They acknowledged the problem and promised compensation. Yet more than a year and a half later, I’ve received nothing — just delay after delay, and eventually no response at all. Completely unprofessional.

If you value your time, your money, and an honest experience, I strongly suggest booking with a different agency.

We had a fantastic experience with FTS…

We had a fantastic experience with FTS Agency. My family and I did two tours with them, one to Luxor and another to Cairo, and both were incredible.

Luxor is a must for anyone visiting Egypt and Cairo was just as amazing, packed with history and culture. The agency gave us great prices and top service from start to finish.

Big shoutout to Nana, Smile and Hassan for looking after us so well. They made the trips even more special. Highly recommend FTS Agency for anyone visiting Egypt.

This company ALSO ruined our holiday

This company ruined our holiday. We booked a trip with them through Viator in advance of travelling to Egypt to fly to Cairo and see the pyramids however they contacted us the day before at 11pm (we were asleep as we had to meet 3am to travel to cario) and cancelled our booking, we only found out at 3am whilst waiting to be collected!. After which Viator contacted them on our request to reschedual the flight to the following day. So up again at 3am only to wait 2 hours with no pick up. Finally (and that is no easy feat to reach them) did they confirm they didnt rebook the flights ... so back to sleep we went again ! We eventually went the following day to Cario with them. Which then consisted of constant "upselling" with all the things that were not included. The organiser of the trip at the end (who in fairness was wonderful) then asked all travellers to get their phones out and type a good review, whilst he waited. In addition to this the flight time back wasnt confirmed until 11.00pm the night before so it resulted in us having to cancel another trip, as we didnt arrive back at the hotel at 20.00 as promised but 01.30 the following day ... so the stress of organising/reschedualling and trying to get refunds back ruined this holiday for us. And we are still battling the refund for the trip we had to cancel. So upsetting for us all .(within the 24 hour time frame)

As visitors from Lithuania

As visitors from Lithuania, we had the pleasure of having Nana as our guide, and she truly exceeded all expectations. She clearly explained the day’s program, prioritized our safety, and even covered the cost of toilets at the first stop to prevent any overcharging—a thoughtful gesture. Nana went above and beyond, holding our 6-year-old’s hand throughout the tour, offering small gifts to the infants, and sharing invaluable insights to help us understand and respect local customs.

Her deep knowledge of ancient Egypt was remarkable, and she used pictures and engaging stories to bring the rich history to life. The Valley of the Kings, the tombs, and the temples were absolutely awe-inspiring—true masterpieces that are unmatched for their time. Unfortunately, the visible rubbish in such a historically significant area was disappointing and could use more attention.

A few tips for fellow travelers: the trip lasts over 5 hours with only one toilet stop, so it’s a good idea to bring loose change, toilet paper, and prepare for long travel. Despite the long day, Nana’s exceptional care and the breathtaking sights made this an experience we’ll never forget.

thanks fts

Luxor and Cairo trips

The Luxor day started with a 30-minute delay because the transport was late. The travel agency’s messages state that the driver will only wait 5 minutes for passengers before leaving, but at the first pickup location, people were still asleep, and the driver waited 30 minutes for them, causing our tour to be delayed. As a result, we arrived late to Luxor, and our guide had to rush through all five stops.

Our guide, Dua, was very friendly and knowledgeable, which made the experience more enjoyable despite the rushed schedule. Due to the delay, we had to take a boat across the Nile River to save time and get to lunch more quickly, which was not part of the original plan and came at an additional cost. Although we felt it was unfair to pay extra because of the delay, we decided to go along with it to avoid any hassle. The boat trip turned out to be a pleasant experience.

The lunch was okay—edible but could have been better. For such a long journey, I wish they had provided a more comfortable van.

We also booked a trip to Cairo to see the museum and pyramids, which was supposed to include return flights. However, at around 5:00 PM two days before our travel, we received a message that our departure flight from Hurghada had been canceled. As an alternative, FTS offered us a van ride to Cairo with a return flight.

We immediately replied, asking about compensation for the change and whether there were return flights available one or two days after our originally scheduled date. Despite our calls and messages that day, we received no response. The next day, we continued to follow up, sending multiple messages and trying to call, but again, no reply until around 1:00 PM. At that point, FTS informed us we could either receive partial compensation or book a round-trip flight on January 7th.

We quickly replied that January 7th wouldn’t work because we were returning to the UK that day, and we sought more clarification on the compensation offered, as we felt it was inadequate. Unfortunately, the company stopped responding entirely. That day was extremely stressful - we sent around 10 messages and made several calls, both from our phones and through the hotel reception, but still received no answers.

Out of frustration, I mentioned that I would leave feedback online, and suddenly, FTS replied, claiming they had experienced technical issues with WhatsApp. This was clearly untrue, as they also ignored a previous email we had sent. What upset us most was that they continued suggesting the January 7th option despite our repeated reminders that it wasn’t possible for us. They also promised someone would contact us within 60 minutes, but no one ever did, despite our many follow-ups.

We eventually contacted GetYourGuide, who advised us to wait at reception at 1:50 AM in case we were picked up. Around 2:00 AM, we texted FTS to confirm, and they replied saying there was no availability for us and repeated the January 7th option. It was incredibly frustrating. Finally, they agreed to pick us up by van the next day, with a return flight to Hurghada, so we went to bed feeling utterly drained.

The next day, we were ready at reception by 1:40 AM, but the driver arrived 30 minutes late. The drivers were friendly, and the guide in Cairo was very knowledgeable. The day itself in Cairo went well, although they once again tried to charge us extra for a boat ride, which we refused. The lunch was better compared to our first trip. However, we were late to see the Sphinx, and as expected, we were taken to overpriced Egyptian oil and papyrus shops, which felt like a tourist trap.

The flight back was delayed by three hours, and although the airport pickup was quick, the driver didn’t know the hotel locations and drove in circles for an hour until passengers started giving him directions.

FTS’s communication was absolutely terrible. They wasted nearly three days of our holiday with their unresponsiveness and poor planning. The staff on WhatsApp struggled to understand basic English, making it incredibly stressful to communicate with them. I would never recommend FTS to anyone. This experience left me mentally exhausted and anxious. I sincerely hope GetYourGuide stops working with this company.

We had an absolutely fantastic day

We had an absolutely fantastic day! Everything started on the right foot with a friendly driver who picked us up on time in a clean and comfortable van/bus. The journey allowed us to catch some much-needed rest, which was a lovely bonus. Our guide, Nana, was simply amazing—she was not only funny and punctual but also incredibly knowledgeable about Egypt's history and culture. She shared great tips and tricks and brought so much joy to the experience—we absolutely adored her!

Our first stop was the stunning Karnak Temple, which left us in awe. After that, we enjoyed a relaxing boat tour on the Nile (just €10 per person), followed by a delicious lunch near the river. In the afternoon, we explored several ancient sites, including the incredible Valley of the Kings, which was an unforgettable experience. Our final stop was the impressive Temple of Hatshepsut—a perfect way to wrap up the day.

We also made a quick visit to a shop selling stone souvenirs (don’t forget to negotiate!). On the way back, Nana even treated us to some snacks, which was such a thoughtful touch.

We highly recommend FTS Travels and this tour. We also tried their snorkeling tour, and it was equally amazing!

Honest Review of FTS Tours

Honest Review of FTS Tours
I encourage you to book with FTS only if you’re prepared to handle stress during your holiday. While they ultimately delivered on the itinerary, the journey was far from smooth.

Background:
My wife and I are seasoned travelers who typically plan our trips independently. This time, since we were traveling with our aging parents, we decided to book with FTS for convenience. We opted for a comprehensive tour: 3 nights in Giza, 2 days in Luxor, and 2 nights in Hurghada. While our experience might be an outlier, it’s essential to share what you might encounter.
What FTS Does Well

Competitive pricing.
Decent hotels.
Comfortable private vehicles and friendly guides.

Areas That Need Improvement

Professionalism.
Communication.
Organization.

Our Experience

We traveled in two groups, from Germany and India, both requiring e-visas. To apply, FTS had to provide a guarantee letter outlining the tour details. Despite multiple follow-ups, the letter arrived only hours before our departure.

Cairo:
The first two nights went smoothly. The airport pickup was timely, and the hotel met expectations.

Luxor:
This is where things unraveled. We repeatedly asked for flight details to Luxor but received no response. At 10 PM, we were informed of a 6:30 AM flight, with a 3:00 AM pickup. Scrambling to pack, we were ready by 2:55 AM, only for the driver to arrive an hour late.

After landing, we were taken directly to the Valley of the Kings and other sites without breakfast, eventually reaching the hotel listed in the guarantee letter. However, the hotel had no record of our booking. FTS didn’t respond to calls, leaving us stranded in the lobby. An hour later, we were moved to a different hotel, which had substandard rooms with faulty locks. After arguing with the staff, we were given better rooms and promised complimentary dinner.

The next morning, mid-tour, we were told we had to pay for the dinner. Despite offering to settle the bill during checkout, the hotel staff insisted it was unnecessary. This pattern of miscommunication and last-minute changes continued throughout the trip.

Hurghada:
Again, we were not booked in the hotel mentioned in the guarantee letter. By this point, we were bracing for uncertainty at every step.
Conclusion

While FTS ensured we completed the itinerary and didn’t abandon us, the lack of professionalism and organization made this one of the most stressful trips we’ve had. If you’re considering booking with FTS, be prepared for unpredictability.
