As a small business we thought a fuel card would work really well and would help with paperwork (eg reducing receipts) not realising that billing was weekly.
This would not be as bad if invoices arrived on the same day every week and payment came out on same day every week but it doesn’t :(
Our last transaction was on 12th January (for current invoice) and the DD on this one won’t come out till 23rd January so as the payment has not been taken earlier it results in no available credit so then have to pay for fuel - which is not what we wanted to do hence why getting the fuel card.
We have made early payments to try and resolve this but then they deduct from next invoice so it all happens again. We have applied for a credit increase as this would solve this issue and told we had to wait a month which we did then we was told we had to email customer care to explain and apply for an increase which despite 2 emails to date have not received a reply.
None of the invoices tally with the amounts taken from the bank making book keeping a nightmare which was our main reason for switching to a fuel card.
Poor service, communication, inconsistent information and nightmare invoicing & payment system.
On Monday when they are open we will be ringing to cancel this account.
UPDATE: Following response from Fuel Genie on 23rd January I sent all information asked for and still not received any response at all

After a bad experience with another fuelcard provider, we signed up with Fuel genie and so far their customer service and support is much much better. Emails and phone calls always responded to quickly and efficiently.

I have had a fuel card for two years. 3 months ago they said they would be suspending my account because of a ccj. I sent them the court letter, proving that this had been settled, in our favour, and they reinstated the account.
Then, in the last week, they suspended the account, because the ccj was still on my file. I did not know this, and paid the court to have this removed.
Fuel Genie have not reinstated my account. This has caused us some very embarrassing moments, we have NEVER missed a payment, we have even paid extra when exceeding our credit limit.
DONT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY

Only thing that is slightly annoying is that since COVID they started taking weekly payments, which is fine, but it's random as to when they want it, no fixed day a week, not even every 7 days !!
Great card and lots of petrol stations to choose from, easy to use app
