i am now fully out of fundingsecure , and not too soon, the recovery aspect of this company with regards to overdue loans turned out to be terrible.

When my wife and I finally received permission for our home extension plans, we were delighted but also facing a double dilemma. To do it properly would prove to be very costly. In addition, what do we do with my pride and joy in the meantime? The object in question is a rare 1930’s sports car that’s been in my family for fifty years. But then central to our plans was extending the garage to provide the space and facilities the grand old lady deserved. The answer (although somewhat daunting), arrange for a ‘pawn’. They supply the extra funding and also securely store the car during developments, which in itself is not cheap.

So, I starting talking with people in that market. Including those so called celebrity ones. I’m sorry to say I was repeatedly dismayed by their attitudes and arrangements. They typically wanted to take my car away to secret locations (secret even to me!) and then also ‘lock me up’ in an extortionate contract. To make matters worse, every time I displayed determination to honour the agreement and get my car back, their interest would start vaporising. It was as if they were only in it for my car and not in doing honest business with me!

Well, I was nigh to ditching the whole idea when I submitted a ‘last attempt’ query to Funding Secure one Sunday night. A Mr Nigel Hackett responded the following day and I was admittedly rather surprised/suspicious as he was being very helpful and straight talking. My feelings were compounded by his claims of a transparent custody arrangement for my car with a highly reputable firm. This was all to be wrapped into our agreement at a reasonable total cost. Perhaps it was a case of “once bitten, twice shy” disbelief on my part by then. But I do recall putting the phone down after that initial conversation and thinking to myself, “Are these guys for real?!?”

Fortunately, I followed through with it and Mr Hackett’s service turned out to be truly impeccable. He patiently listened to my circumstances and objectives. Was very helpful and encouraging in discussing my options. Open and assuring when dealing with my car’s custody. Thorough in arranging all matters to suit my requirements. Delivered each step to within my difficult schedule. And was consistently calm, friendly and professional.

By this point you may be thinking my testimony is misguided and/or naïve. Trust me, its not. I am a Financial Services Professional with 30+years experience. In that time, I have been at the sharp end of positions across most of my industry. My specialty is Legal Risk and Compliance Management. Therefore, I continually critique competence and if needed, will crucify callous conduct.

Hence, it gives me great pleasure to declare that Funding Secure receive my rare vote of approval. In particular, a special mention goes to Mr Nigel Hackett. He was exemplary in conducting his KYC diligence. Also remarkably replete with his TCF service. With it all culminating in the delivery of an arrangement that in many ways, exceeded the expectations of this seasonally hardened sceptic.

I’m a new lender on FundingSecure with only a month or so relationship to date with them. I would like to echo the positive comments made by others (mostly borrowers it would seem). I have found FS to be a small but very professional outfit, their staff are approachable, courteous, handle your requests diligently, providing information required in a helpful manner & with impressive response times.

Only downside to date is the relatively low volume of loans for lenders to supply funds to, but this would be a reflection of their young age & innovative business model which – if customer service continues at these high levels – will surely lead to increased business for them in future (& I believe already is). Potential borrowers, if you’re looking for a loan, FundingSecure are certainly worth a look.

During the course of the transaction I spoke to or dealt with each member of the team who were all very helpful and easy to deal with. They provided a higher loan at a lower rate than their competitors and even collected my assets from our house.

Being new to this process I wish to understand how best to proceed. I had three questions, one of which was very important to me and which Susan sorted out immediately. I am reassurred and confident that I now understand the process and how to proceed when I am ready to do so. Thank you Susan!

I used rare memorabilia items for a loan through Funding Secure and they were very helpful every step of the way. The process was simple, quick and quite fun! I would definitely recommend them, stay away from the other providers as I have found they are not professional and unless you have a big ticket item they won't contact you promptly. However, I'm sure Funding Secure will deal with every query big or small in a professional way, as they did with me. From the beginning our dealings with Funding Secure were a pleasure. We were initially nervous at the thought of dealing with a start-up but our minds were quickly put to rest. We needed money quickly and a company director called personally at our home, which was 600 miles away! At all times we found them friendly and professional which is a rare combination. We think the service they are offering is probably unique and a much needed alternative to traditional forms of asset backed financing. The rates they offer are also relatively low and it is good to know that the interest paid is going to ordinary people rather than an anonymous corporation. When the time came to repay our loan it was again an entirely hassle free experience. We wish them every success and would recommend them to anyone who needs to raise short term finance without going through a bank.
