Our Croatia Sailing Tour with Funky Tours was pure magic from start to finish. Skipper Mislav and Host Abi made every day feel like we were sailing with old friends — warm, fun, and incredibly genuine. Their easygoing hospitality and local knowledge made the experience unforgettable.

The itinerary was perfectly balanced, visiting beautiful harbors, charming coastal towns, and breathtaking National Parks. Every meal was a highlight — from delicious onboard meals to amazing dinners in local restaurants along the coast.

We made new friends, laughed constantly, and experienced one of the most beautiful places on Earth. The only downside was that it ended far too soon!

We did four tours with Funky Tours in Bosnia in September. Private transfers from Dubrovnik to Mostar and from Srajevo to Zagreb via Banja Luka over two days, and two small group day tours from Sarajevo to Srebrenica and Eastern Bosnia/Western Serbia. All the tours took us to beautiful and fascinating places well off the normal tourist itinerary and excellent local drivers and guides provided knowledgeable and empathetic insights into what we were seeing. From the time we started making initial enquiries to follow up after the trip I thought Funky Tours were very efficient, personable and well organised. I woud recommend them highly

We did the Funky Tours 12-Day Best of Balkans small group tour that visited Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina, and Montenegro. The organization of the trip on the part of Funky Tours was wonderful - we visited many beautiful sites while learning about both the more recent and the past history of the region. Our tour guide, Ajla, has a terrific knowledge of the region and gave us great recommendations throughout the trip. It was my first time traveling with a small group tour, and the group got along very well and enjoyed the time together. One interesting thing for us was that some of the people on our tour were on the 16-day version that's also available, so some of the people had started before us and continued on for a few days after us. In terms of timing, the end of September-beginning of October time is a perfect time to visit the Balkans. The weather is still good, but the crowds have started to die down a bit.

We had a great 4 day boat trip from Tribunz with Funky Tours which was excellent. The boat was good, the staff brilliant and I would definitely recommend.

Our tour was fantastic, lots of great variety and got to see parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina we wouldn’t have otherwise. Tour guide was very informative and helpful. Would really recommend instead of getting a regular transfer from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik.

My experience on funky Tours
I recently completed a fantastic adventure with Funky Tours, and I can't recommend it enough! We visited three stunning islands, each offering its own unique charm and beauty.

The food throughout the tour was simply fantastic, with each meal providing a delightful taste of local cuisine that exceeded my expectations.

The crew was amazing as well! Their friendliness and attentiveness made the journey even more enjoyable. They ensured that we had everything we needed and shared great insights about each destination.

Best trip ever!!! Allen was an amazing captain attentive to everyone’s needs. Abi was a chef and guide extrodinarie! The trip was a great mix of history, small villages, both water and land based activities with a few shopping options thrown in.

The 4 day trip was so much fun. The captain and crew, Abi and Alem made every moment amazing with their knowledge of the area, activities that were planned ahead and our enjoyment always seemed to be at the forefront of their mind. We visited multiple places each day and there was always chances to swim or just chill out on the deck or on the chairs. I felt like I could ask them for anything at any time and there would be no problem about it. They took us to beautiful beaches, scenery and historical places which made a good mix of things to see and do. The provided breakfast and lunch were always served on time and were delicious, we had a chance to pick what we wanted for breakfast each day which was nice. They would recommend us places to eat for dinner and reserve them ahead for us (as well as the activities) and the restaurants were great. There was plenty of space on board, we were a group of 9 + the 1 member of crew and the captain and there was always somewhere to sit or lie down in the sun whilest we were docked or travelling. The whole trip was great and I had a lot of fun.

Great experience. Great food cooked by abi and good restaurant recommendations. Smooth driving by Alem and both crew members were fun and sociable. We even saw dolphins!!

What an amazing time! I don’t know where to begin…
First off, a huge thank you to Edna & Abdullah and Captain Tony (I think that was his name!)
Edna and Abdul were the most gracious hosts for our 4-day sojourn. They prepared fresh and delicious meals on board and always made sure that I had plenty of ICE for my drinks, as I had requested this pre-sail. This was so nice for me!! Just being on the Catamaran with full sails was exhilarating and sheer joy.
But let me tell you about the stops! Each one, a magical seaside hamlet, some with 1 or 2 restaurants. The side excursion to Krka Falls was breathtaking and not to be missed. I wish I could remember all the names of the little towns… They were so quaint with hardly any tourists. I thought late May was a PERFECT time to go because of the low tourism and the temps being only slightly cool. But in the sun?? You were plenty warm enough and I did get a stellar tan!! The sea water temps at this time were VERY BRISK, but it was also refreshing. If you’re on a paddle board or the massive inflatable Pink Flamingo, then you don’t get wet!
The Cat comfortably sleeps 8 ppl, 2 to a cabin. On our sail, we had myself and my friend each in our own cabin, and then a husband and wife with their 5-year old daughter in another cabin (3 bodies in one cabin!), the crew, and that’s it! At first, we were a little bummed-out about a child being on board (we like to drink wine and relax!), but thankfully, she was the SWEETEST, most well-behaved kid that I have ever met, so it actually made the sail more fun. She was seriously an angel, so we lucked out on that!
I would say that this type of adventure is very casual and low key. If you prefer fancy, bougie yacht-type stuff, or shopping and fine dining, then this wouldn’t be for you. (I might have worn the same coverup for 3 days straight! LOL) I never worried about my hair and I was completely makeup-free the whole time. The “fanciest” thing was when we pulled up alongside the oyster fisherman and he served them to us right out of the water! The “amenities” that you are paying for are: small passenger count, epic views, Adriatic winds, pristine waters, local culture and flavors, and great hospitality by the crew.
My personal highlights: Some of the stops with brilliant turquoise waters, the hike up the mountain at sunset, (Edna helped me reach the top; I didn’t think I could make it but I did!!) and just basically chilling on the Cat listening to tunes and making new lifelong friendships.
I honestly have nothing negative to review, only that we did the 4-day sail and not a 1 week sail… We were just starting to enjoy the routine and then it was over way too soon….
BUT! We have vowed to return to sail with Edna again!

I found Funky Tours by accident when I conducted a Google search for Balkan vacations. I was looking for a travel group that offered a tour of the former Yugoslavia, and they were the closest one I could find in a single trip. My husband and I selected the 16 day from Slovenia to Albania (with Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro included). Our guide and driver were excellent--extremely flexible and accessible and ensured all our desires were met. The accommodations for the entire trip were top notch, and the selected sites were a good combination of "off the beaten path" adventures and typical must-see or "tourist trap" sites. The prices were reasonable, the staff was knowledgeable (including the city guide tours in various locations) and a good balance of guided trips with free time. Highly recommend.

Our family spent a few days sailing around Croatia's many islands with Alem and Mislav from Funky Tours and it was the highlight of the trip for everyone. Not only did we feel incredibly well hosted (and fed) but we truly enjoyed our time getting to know them and hanging out. They were professional, knowledgeable about what they were doing, and extremely friendly. And wow, we are so well too! If we went back to Croatia and could only do one thing then we would do this again in a heartbeat. Thank you friends for taking such good care of us!

I went on the half day Tunnel of Hope tour and it was fantastic. I learnt so much about Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Enes was a brilliant guide. Thoroughly recommend!

I traveled alone to Sarajevo and read a recommendation about the "Sarajevo Total Siege Tour (War Tunnel Included)" in a blog. And they were true, it was AMAZING!
The guide had experienced everything we saw, which made it incredibly moving. It was emotional but also inspiring and beautiful. Learning more about the history of this remarkable city, along with the guide's personal story, was one of the most meaningful highlights of my stay in Sarajevo.
