We had a Great Family vacation destination Germany and Switzerlandi!!!! Irene and Joel did all the planning and organized a trip full of adventures, Great Hotels, restaurants, etc etc.

Irene did a great job on our trip to the Basque country. The hotels were amazing and the personal winery tours met our every expectation.

Amazing Gastronómica and wine adventure perfectly organized by Irene Trincado of Galangal Travel. Irene made all our hotel reservations in Madrid, Bilbao, La Rioja, and San Sebastián. She scheduled amazing Bodega winery tours, gastronomic lunches and dinners where locals dine including some with Michelin ratings. We had a party of 10 (2 from Chicago and 8 from Albuquerque New Mexico) and we had the dream trip of a lifetime and were appropriately referred to as the Dream Team. She organized a behind the scenes tour of the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao, made recommendations for pintxo tours, met us for tapas in Madrid, organized amazing wine tours in La Rioja, including a fabulous biking wine tour, also made arrangements to have designated drivers. Irene was so informative of our needs she made arrangements to have lunch at a private Gastronómica society in San Sebastián where the chef met us at the market to select fresh fish and vegetables. An experience the Dream Team will cherish as we were treated like familia. We will definitely contact Irene and Galangal for our future travels.

Irene from Galangal planned a fabulous trip for us in Andalucia, driver, hotels , guides, restaurants etc. Everything went as planned and we are grateful to Irene as we made a lot of changes along the way and she was able to accommodate us. Irene organized the most wonderful trip to Spain for me and my family. Not only did we visit off-the-beaten path, fascinating places, but she took the trouble to follow up on our itinerary every night. Everything was well taken care of: the car, the guides, the hotels and the restaurants. She is very savvy and her recommendations never disappointed. I will be using Galangal for all my travel needs in the future.

Joel did a great job organizing our group trip to Patagonia. He was extremely responsive and adaptive as we made the itinerary to suit our budget needs and activity interests. Joel and his team were accesible 24/7 and remedied any questions or issues that we had professionally and quickly. We not only got a great trip organied for us but also incredible customer service.

Joel arranged a fabulous trip for a group of my friends. We had lots of complicated requests— moving to many different locations, people joining and leaving the group at different times, schedules changing—and he accommodated them all. It was such a relief to know he had everything handled so we could just relax and focus on enjoying ourselves. Great trip!

They arranged an outstanding trip for 15 people. We felt helped and supported before and especially during the trip, which is the most important thing we were looking for.

Joel was great. He was super flexible when we asked to add an additional person to our already complicated trip. He was also available to chat during the trip whenever we had questions. We had an incredible time in Patagonia thanks to Joel!

I was working with Joel for over a year to plan this amazing trip. Everything from the food, to the one of a kind experiences, to the amazing places we stayed in were enchanting.

He organized everything and we have a detailed plan ahead of time. He also accommodated a lot of changes that we needed and was there 24/7 to trouble shoot during the trip incase anything happened.

I truly enjoyed this trip, so did the 16 other people that joined... We know we couldn't have done it the same without Joel or his team.

We had the most wonderful experience with Galangal Travels and especially with Irene for our tour of Spain. Galangal (Irene) ensured we did not have to worry about anything from the time we landed in Barcelona until our departure from Madrid. Galangal booked everything; our hotels, trains, chauffeured van transport, car rental, city tours and even restaurants. It was a wonderful trip. One of the highlights was Irene arranged for a horse-riding expedition where we got to see a working Spanish horse ranch and farm/hacienda. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and family and given several demonstrations of Spanish horsemanship. Additionally, one of the gentlemen, Mr. Angel Peralta (an excellent equestrian), took us on tour via horse carriage of the hills around Cordoba ending at a premier equestrian facility. The cherry on top was that, he let our daughter (a budding equestrian) ride and jump one of his champion horses. It is a memoir we will always cherish, especially our daughter.
Irene continually worked with us to ensure we had a wonderful trip of Spain. She was given our travel plans with very short notice, but was able to accommodate us despite us making many changes in travel plans. In fact, there were several times where we Skyped after midnight (Spain time) which helped instill a sense of confidence that Galangal, and Irene especially, are really putting well over 100% effort into our trip. One example was an unpredicted taxi strike had started in Spain a bit before our arrival in Barcelona. Initially we had plan to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel and then to the train station to start our trip of Southern Spain. With this option unavailable, Irene quickly booked a private van for the ride to the hotel and to the train station. Not an easy feat considering that demand for private vans skyrocketed, and the taxi drivers not taking kindly to competitors disrespecting their strike. Irene continually stayed in touch during our tour, checking to see if we enjoyed the day’s excursion and recommending places to eat at the various locations. She even took the time to meet us at the end of our trip in Madrid, where she gifted us a memorable framed photograph of us with Mr. Peralta, horse carriage, on some Roman ruin overlooking Cordoba. She is a lovely young lady full of energy and enthusiastic about her work.
We highly and heavily recommend Galangal Travel and Irene for a tour of Spain, and will certainly consider using their services for our future travels.

Irene and Galangal could not have done a better job! Aside from their incredibly thoughtful and custom itinerary, they managed to sprinkle in their well traveled and knowledgeable taste of Spain into every moment. It was amazing. I organized with Galangal Roots a trip to Salamanca, where I asked my girlfriend to marry me. They were helpful, efficient and profesional. Wine, cheese and jamón ibérico tastings, spa, menú, it was a great foodie experience.
I’m very glad I chose them to organize this trip, and I will for sure travel with them again.

An amazing trip. We ate in some incredible places and stayed in the most perfect hotels. I recommend Galangal with all my heart. It would be impossible to explore Spain in such a way without them.

Fantastic tour in Barcelona. First day Joel took us to the wine country of Priorat for a wonderful tour and tasting at Clos Mogador followed by a traditional Catalonian lunch. It was a fantastic day. The next day we did a walking tapas tour of Barcelona stopping at the most unique and interesting spots that one would not find on a tour map. He took us to very special, small tapas bars where the food, stories, and people were unmatched. We will use Galangal for our next trip to Spain. Excellent.

Irene did an amazing job planning every detail of our trip and took all of the stress out of planning a vacation. There were fun surprises she planned for us at every turn of our trip.
