Game in Straiton, dont waste your time

Game in Straiton, have very little games in store. Its all board games and lego and plush toys. Where are the console games?!
I pick up 2 games, 1 has no price other has a half ripped off price label. Young boy, told me price of them and they were double price than Argos, Currys even Asda. Waste of time. Plus neither were in stock, even though they were out on stock shelves!

Game is dead

Game is dead, its just no one has told it.
Went in to the Game upstairs in Sports Direct this morning, picked up about £150 worth of games and went to the till.
There was a sign.
"Till closed. Please pay for items at till downstairs"
So, I go downstairs, as I'm making my way to the till point I'm stopped by the only staff member I've seen so far.
"Oh," he says, "you'll need to pay for those upstairs"...
I tell him about the sign. He looks genuinely puzzled and a bit ticked off,
"What sign?" he asks, then picks up his walkie and calls a name, at this point I really can't be bothered with the chaotic structure, no one answers him and again he says I need to go back upstairs, so I ask him what I'm expected to do, run the stuff through the till myself, he says that someone should be up there, clearly getting irritated,
"Well if they are up there, they're hiding really really well." He just shrugs.
I hand him the games and tell him it's not worth the hassle and start to walk away, as I do I hear him start to talk to someone on his walkie, he asks whoever he's talking to what the expletive he's been doing as a customer is walking out.
I didn't wait to hear the rest of it.
There wasn't much in stock in the concession, more toys than games and the toys looked like remnant stock from a warehouse.
A sad end to a once great brand....but I'm not surprised as this particular store (Edinburgh Straiton) has been really poor for a couple of years now.

Down the Toilet

GAME used to be decent.
It's completely down the toilet now.

In-store stock is pathetic, barely any new games and virtually no pre-owned games. Total lack of useful gaming accessories too - it's now all Funko Pop or kids cuddly toys...

You cant use vouchers or Rewards Points in-store either now as most of them are in Sports Direct and have a different till system. Couldn't even check my points balance - the guy on the till said he'd have to call up another store, give them my reward number and ask them what my balance was...

Now they're closing the rewards programme too with very little notice. Have to use up your points only, you can't use them because none of the stores can accept them!

If you order online and choose Click and Collect, there's a delivery fee... Absolute smash and grab merchants.

Feel bad for the staff who have to front up this nonsense - they're getting shafted just as much as their customers.

GAME is dead, shop elsewhere.

*SHOPPERS BEWARE*

Ordered PS5 bundle from their black Friday sale. Was due to be in store to collect in 1-2 days. Still zero updates on where my items are. It is impossible to speak to anyone from the company. I got one reply from "Nathan" asking if it was an online order. I have been left in the dark since. They are still selling these items on their Web page, I would recommend shopping elsewhere to avoid disappointment or losing money so close to Christmas. If paying outright do so with PayPal so you can easily dispute it. I will give them another few days before cancelling my order and finance agreement. Poor show, have a look at Facebook to see the amount of customers is has effected. Also I have been charged £9.99 for click and collect when their website states £4.99. I will be rectifying this aswell once the items "arrive"

Another bad review.

Another bad review.
What a surprise.
I bought two Switch games I the Edinburgh Straiton store.... Well, I thought I had, I'm not particularly tech savvy with the switch...
Turns out I bought two empty boxes with a digital code inside. The boxes I took home were factory sealed, the boxes that I took from the shelf were display boxes and neither of those stated it was just a digital code. The 'manager' John Michael, didn't draw my attention to it prior to finalising the sale so I was a little irritated when I got home to see both boxes would be empty if I opened them.
In addition, neither box states you need a membership to download the games, as the 'redeem code' option only becomes available AFTER acquiring membership.
John Michael, initially tried to blame my switch as being 'wrong', the switch that was bought from game less than six months ago , then proceeded to spend minute after minute of 'searching' on his phone to see if I was right. I found the information in less than a minute.
Anyway, as it had been less than an hour and the games were presented with a receipt AND still sealed I mistakenly thought I'd get a refund.
Oh noooooooooooooooo....
It's an exchange or a credit note. Obviously game has fallen so far that every penny is a prisoner and the days of engendering customer loyalty are faaaaar behind us.
Ao now I have a credit note valid for 2 years, will game still be around in 2 years? Doubtful.
I rarely venture into game, my continuing absence will not matter, but after this I'll only return to waste my credit note on something before abandoning what was once a giant and is now a fading memory.
