I am absolutely appalled by my recent experience at the Game store located in Trinity Walk, Wakefield, which shares the same premises as Sports Direct. This store has blatantly disregarded its own gift card terms and conditions, which are clearly written on the back of the card. my son was heartbroken for not being able to use his birthday present,the gift card from Game.
Here is a detailed account of the unacceptable situation:
1. Unfair Exchange for Gift Card:
I returned an item at this store and was given a gift card instead of a cash refund, without any prior notice or option. This practice is already dubious and certainly not customer-friendly.
2. Refusal to Accept Gift Card:
When I attempted to use the gift card today, it was refused due to "till changes." This is a flimsy excuse, and it is outrageous that a gift card issued by the same store cannot be used there.
3. Misleading Information and Lack of Responsibility:
Sports Direct advertises Game products on their website, yet when issues arise, they take no responsibility. This is misleading and unprofessional, leaving customers in a frustrating position.
4. Inconvenience and Violation of Consumer Rights:
I was told to travel to Freeport to resolve this issue. This is not only highly inconvenient but also a clear violation of consumer rights. According to the terms and conditions stated on the gift card, it should be accepted at any Game store, including the one in Wakefield where it was issued.
This kind of service is unacceptable and goes against basic consumer rights. I urge Game and Sports Direct to address this issue immediately and honor the terms and conditions of their gift cards. Customers deserve better treatment and respect for their time and money. There customer service are poor in store or online just copying and pasting without reading the complaint properly. Avoid at all cost.

Confirm it was available for collection or that it would only be held for 48 hours after release. Went to collect on Saturday and advised that my pre order had been sold and no more stock due to high demand, staff were very apologetic and no complaint with them at all

Very helpful member of staff. Good selection of stock and a nice new store.
The assistants are very polite.But the goods I have bought 6 times within a year I am not happy with.
Staff were helpful and gave good advice but it's disappointing to see Game relegated to the back corner of a Sports Direct with hardly any useful gaming accessories or equipment available to buy above a battery pack. But I think I saw a stuffed Pokémon.
