GANNETT PRICING IS TOO HIGH AND LACKS CUSTOMER SERVICE SATISFACTION

I DO NOT RECOMMEND GANNETT NEWS PAPER FOR ANYONE IN WHATEVER CITY THEY SERVE. THE PRICING IS TOO HIGH FOR THE DIGITAL SUBSCRIPTION AND I WAS ALSO CHARGED MORE THAT THE PRICING THEY AGREED TO. I HAVE CANCELLED MY SUBSCRIPTION AND I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT OF THIS COMPANY. NO WONDER THE REVIEWS ARE SO LOW. THE SERVICE AGENT AND SUPERVISOR THAT I SPOKE TO WERE DISHONEST AND LACKED COMMUNICATION SKILLS TO RESOLVE A SIMPLE MATTER. WHEN YOU GET OVER CHARGED AND HAVE ZERO SUPPORT FROM THIS COMPANY IT'S TIME TO EXPOSE THE PRICING AND LACK OF SUPPORT AND LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR NEWS. Scam Subscriptions! Blatant Fraud! Investigate these Thieves!

This company has been charging $14.99 on my bank account for 10 months - for a newspaper I have never heard of, and never subscribed to - I never even received a single issue. I called Gannett Media and they refused to refund, even though the account they claimed I had has never even been acccessed.

This is a scam company and they need to be investigated for fraudulent business practices! If you have been scammed by Gannett Media I highly recommend writing to the BBB, the FTC and writing to the Attorney General of Virginia to stop this company from shackling unknowing people with fees they never agreed to.

Deceptive at best

Got a subscription online and found it wasn’t worth reading. I cancelled it via apple or so I believed from my app information. A year later a charge shows up on my new credit card card (how they did that I don’t know). Called them and their response was “you had to cancel directly with us”. I’m disputing charge with capital one since gannet would not give me a refund.

Sales and marketing fail

Last year I inquired to run a New Year’s promo for my business. I was off to a late start, but inquired professional assistance on how to go about delivering a New Year’s promo. The company sales and marketing rep recommended to run it through an email campaign against my initial desires, but agreeing to their professional advice. The campaign was run over a week with extremely poor results. After inquiring about the results, they told me that I ran the ad too late. I would expect someone to tell me this prior to running an ad for $1500 and advising to run a different type of ad. The professionalism and transparency was absolutely terrible. I would never recommend this company. Instead, use somebody local to your community that cares about the reputation and how they conduct their business.

I subscribed to Gannett and in two week…

I subscribed to Gannett and in two week did not have the time to read,i canceled. Looking over my visa card they charged me as if i never cancelld so i called them and he said i should have called. They tell you in there add you can cancel on line! These people are in it to rip you off if you cancel!!! How many times does this go ON!! they got me for two extra month's! they don't credit your card, wonder why!!!!

Cancelling Subscription & Billing - NIGHTMARE

This media company's unbelievable. Speaking of jsonline.com DIGITAL news or Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel newspaper. Firstly, their unwillingness to adjust subscription prices. i.e. A current discounted $69 rate was honored instead of a $99.99, but for the 2026 year?! Makes no sense. In their policies, it says that they can make an exception. For whatever reason though they won't. I'm done with them. All of the news from them is so biasedly tilted anyways.

BUYER BEWARE!!

BUYER BEWARE!!! These guys are selling FAKE Nike Jordans. I paid $170.00 USD and they took 4 weeks to show up. First: No tag on the tongue like all Nike Jordans have. The only tag is actually stitched and the side of the inside of the shoe and the QR code scans to a pair of Nike Air Max. Second: the laces are no correct to model of shoe. Third: The Nike Swoosh is located too close to the actual sole of the shoe and NOT in the proper position on the upper. Forth: The box is just trash, its just a generic Nike box with a counterfeit label. I would love a refund but when the PayPal account charged me a second time for an international money transfer to china, my hopes disappeared. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY NAME BRANDS FROM THIS SITE.

Pure scum.

Pure scum.
There IS NO CANCEL METHOD ONLINE, IVE BEEN LOOKING(when I could still access the account, that is, which is now not even possible), though they claim there is yet go dead silent when asked where.
I've been UNABLE to cancel for 3 months now (heading into the 4th), and despite filing charge backs these pos continue to bill rather than cancel an OBVIOUSLY unwanted "service".

I have NO ACCESS to my sign-up phone or email so it looks like CANCELLING MY DEBIT CARD is the length I'll have to go to stop being raped by these swine.

I've *TRIED* explaining the situation to their "customer service" via email but they flat out REFUSE to cooperate, opting instead to keep billing, knowing damn well that I've reached out MULTIPLE TIMES AT MULTIPLE LOCATIONS, TO CANCEL. ITS BEEN MADE EXCEEDINGLY CLEAR THAT I CANNOT ACCESS MY ACCOUNT, DO NOT USE IT, AND DON'T WANT IT, YET *STILL* THE CHARGES COME THROUGH.

ALL THE WHILE THAT THEYRE BILLING/RAPING, I WAS SIMULTANEOUSLY RECEIVING NOTICE FROM THEM THAT THE PAYMENT METHOD IS DECLINED (BEFORE LOSING EMAIL ACCESS) EVEN THOUGH I CAN SEE THE FUNDS WERE ***SUCCESSFULLY DEDUCTED***.

THIS HAS HAPPENED ON ***MULTIPLE UNWELCOME BILLING OCCASIONS***.

APPARENTLY, REVOKING AUTHORIZATION MEANS ***NOTHING TO THESE DISGUSTING PIGS***.

When emailing them screenshots of the charges, their LAME EXCUSE was "we don't have the manpower to view screenshots" and apparently that was supposed to be an acceptable resolution. 🙄

Unfortunately, I see that there's not enough people here standing up for themselves to warrant a reply from these sows so a fair and satisfactory resolution seems Highly Unlikely.

bad business practices

Gannett manages print subscriptions including for many local papers. I signed up to my local paper Athens Banner Herald with a promo offer. Despite disabling auto-renew it renewed anyway, and Gannett makes it very difficult to cancel. I have called several times without resolving due to wait times. I have left messages in comment/support section online and no one responds. while you can manage your subscription online but you cannot cancel -which of course is shady practice when combined with the level of difficulty to cancel.
