Service

Don't update shipping online, phone hold always 30 minutes or more, limited time to call.
Trying to shop local but Gardner's Supply doesn't seem to care. Nice bit about employee=owned but totally useless.

To add context to other reviews...it's been a while since I ordered from them. I placed a large order for netting & stakes on 2/29/24. Been attempting to get a shipping update. Emailed. No reply. I was able to reach a rep by phone this am (18 minutes hold time). Megan updated me that they are now shipping orders placed 2/27, 28. Advised that my order should ship by end of next week. Will update this review as it unfolds.

Absolutely disappointed!!!

I have been a gardeners.com customer for a LONG time..back when they were known as Gardeners Supply Co. That being said, I placed an order on 2/25/24 for shade cloth. Many days went by without any information regarding shipping etc. So I called yesterday, was told that the hold time was 36 minutes(approx.) I waited for a bit then hung up. Checked my emails today still nothing from them. So I called again. Finally got to speak to someone who was not helpful at all. Something about a problem with the "packaging"..not even sure what that means! I told the person that I could not see my order on the website. They responded by saying that if I created an account on or after that order it won't show up on the website.( I've had the same account for the last 13 years and I ordered from them late last year. Oh and that order is not on the website either!!) That makes zero sense to me. I was told I'll have a tracking number by tomorrow morning. I won't hold my breath. And I'm not really sure I'll be ordering from them again.

10 days after placing order nothing

Placed an order on 2/24/24 and 10 days later nothing from them. When I called I was told it takes 2 - 6 days to ship. Website doesn't even show my order, so I cannot check on status, & don't even bother to attempt to contact them on your customer page. I was told they are having problems with website and it is in work, but looking at other reviews I see that has been their excuse for months.

Very disappointing. I do not think I’ll visit again.

I recently visited the Williston location.the location is very impressive. The greenhouse was very full with plants; some of which were unusual. Aside from plants steeply priced, my biggest disappointment was with the lack of identification on 90%of their plants. If one would like to purchase seemingly unusual plant costing $ 50-70 they would love to know the exact species and variety of the particular genus.
I hope this comment will influence proper identification of plants.

I used to like this company

I used to like this company, but this last order placed comfirmed that I need to shop elsewhere. I purchased the Titan Eggplant/Pepper cages as they were touted as "designed by GSC." When they arrived, they were so poorly packaged that the boxes were banged up, holes, and tons of strapping tape to keep them together, fortunately the product was not damaged. Upon opening the damaged boxes on a big white label strapped to the "cages" was: MADE IN CHINA. Had it stated this on the website I would not have bought them. They would not take them back because I "changed my mind." I kept them and assembly is not easy and basically the product consists of: steel-core stakes with life-extending poly coated
adjustable UV-resistant polyethylene rings (I paid a lot of money for plastic manufactured in China). I'll use them because I paid for them, but I would not recommend this item.

I feel like I got ripped off

I feel like I got ripped off. The quality of the blanket i purchased from wise gardeners was of low quslity and stamped. The front side of the blanket is a micro shagg. They stamped graphix on one side of shagg. So if you run your hand across the blanket it virtually erases the grsphix. Super crsppy China quality. I found the same one on Amazon that was twice the size and much better quality for half the price. Also, wise gardeners ships out of Shanghai. So when you get it is a guess. Maybe 2 weeks possibly a month or more.
Also, not a very transparent company to deal with. After I ordered blanket I realized there was no size chart. Even though the picture showed a queen size blanket i wanted to make sure I was getting correct size. So I emailed 4 times over a period of a week. The responses I received were of someone who either was not reading my email and just responding like a robot or it was someone who could not read English and just sending a reassuring note that everything will be OK. Super strange. Turns out the blanket is no bigger than a bath towel. You can get anything wise gardeners Sella on Amazon for about half the price. I will never deal with them again.

Good luck receiving getting delivery

Placed an order on a Wednesday, their website says it will ship within 5 business days. When I followed up because there was no tracking I was told that my order would be delivered the following Thursday (which makes sense since we are local). On Friday over a week later my tracking said fedex still had not received my package and there is no estimated delivery date. Customer service said they have until the end of the ship window before it’s an issue which is 6 days max. They don’t count the order date because it’s after business hours, and they don’t count the day after that, so day 1 starts 2 days after the order is placed. One item is also on back order which is written in fine print, without any notifications through the check out process. Expect to get get orders in 1-2 months. Customer service also had a real attitude and didn’t seem to think there was anything wrong with the fact I was told my order would have arrived yesterday when it hasn’t even shipped. Proceed with caution.

Worst customer service and delivery

As many have said on this site, Gardeners Supply has horrible customer service and bad delivery experiences. I do like their stuff but I continually have trouble with their site and their service. The latest involves a trellis I purchased. When I called to inquire about it (website order status has been “in process” for several days and I can’t log into my account) they rudely condescended to me about how I “pushed buttons without looking”. Just don’t buy from them.

We purchased the somerset metal raised…

We purchased the somerset metal raised bed. It was an absolute piece of junk. It took a while to get it delivered. The metal is so flimsy that it bows while trying to put it together. Some moron put the nuts on the steel with paint unevenly. This made it very difficult to put together. We did a review 5 days ago and it still isn’t available for others to see. I will never purchase anything from them again.

DON'T order from this website!!!

DON'T order online from this website. They supposedly messed up the credit card payment at the time of order, shipped the item anyway, then emailed me 2 months after the order had already arrived to tell me I need to give them my credit card number manually so they charge me again OR they will send my account to Collections.

EXCEPT guess what? When I check my credit card bill from 2 months ago, the full charge from gardeners.com is on the bill. When I called back to show them the bill, they said that's not what happened on their end and I still need to give them my credit card number manually so they can charge me again OR they will send my account to Collections.

DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!

Pompous, Arrogant, Abusive & I Dare Say, Liars

Absolutely one of the most repulsive, physically sickening places I've EVER, in ALL my 67 years on this Earth, encountered!
Months ago, I went to the store (60 miles and hours of driving away) to look for a wheel for a cart that only they sell. The pompous, arrogant sales thing was as condescending as could be, as if I'd disturbed a private party or rest break, told me "We don't have any." So I asked if their other store, some miles away, might have. It got on the phone and called, told me that yes, "they have one". ONE? OK... I gave it a try.
Not only did the other store not "have ONE", they had NONE! Wasted time and gas.
Just recently contacted them by e-mail, via their web-site, gave them the full description of the cart and asked if I could order a replacement wheel.
The reply? I'm going to give a "copy/paste" quote:

I have found that a local bike shop may be able to solve the wheel dilemma.

An "ORDER"? I didn't place and "order", I asked for information. "Contact information"? WHAT? Obviously they have the "contact information" because they replied to my inquiry.

How I almost wish I could post the words, adjectives and truly despicable wishes and hopes I have for EVERYONE even remotely associated with this schlock operation.

You'd have to be one low individual to find any redeemable quality about this place.

Oh, and the "wheel"? Since Gardeners makes the carts, the wheels aren't "standard size", nor is the axle, so you can't just go out and buy any old wheel to replace the defective part. (I used to wonder why I'd seen so many of them at the local dump, often missing a wheel, if not some other part. Now I know: Pay 400$ to use until... Once one part goes, your 400$ is gone as well.)

On top of everything else, looks like they can appropriately be classified as "thieves" because, well, it's all obviously intentional. (As they say in social media: hash-tag ProveMeWrong.)

Going to Consumer Affairs, Consumer Protection and the Better Business Bureau with this now. I've taken MORE than enough abuse.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

HORRIBLE, INEFFECTIVE AND INCOMPETENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
My credit card number was used for an unauthorized transaction for $10.59. I immediately called to fix it and the guy i spoke to was very helpful, or so i thought. After giving him all if the info he requested, I was told that the order was canceled and my money would go back to my card. One week later & still no refund so I call back. Now I'm being told that the man I spoke with shouldn't have told me what he did (?!?) and that my money cannot be refunded until I talk to my bank (always fun)-basically I'll have to go through the nightmare of getting a new card. I've been patiently waiting all week just to find out NOTHING IS HAPPENING! I want to scream. Now i have to choose if $10.59 is worth the headache but i really don't want them keeping it...
THEY NEED TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER AND ALL AGENTS NEED TO KNOW HOW TO DO THEIR JOB

Unbelievably poor service

Unbelievably poor service from this company. I ordered a planter box in April, which it said would be delivered in May. In May, I emailed them and they said it will ship later than expected, with a new date of 6/25.

On 6/27 I emailed them for an update, to which they replied "your order should ship on 7/2 at the latest". Of course, by now the planter wouldn't be much good for this year, but I was patient and figured I can get it in place and I'll be set up for next year. Still nothing happened. On 8/5, I e-mailed them again and they said it should "ship out by the end of the week or early next week". Guess what- still nothing. E-mail again on 8/25 and got this totally ridiculous response- "unfortunately, the planter is on back order until 12/25" "we apologize for the delay".

WOW- just WOW...

Buyer beware of what your ordering

I ordered a moon gate in June 25th - i never received an email or anything reqarding when this would be delivered. Called Gardeners Supply - they were very freindly and explained this was from a thrid party vendor. I called again asking when?? couldnt give me any info said theyd try and reach them. I finally got an email saying it would be delivered by a tractor trailer truck- finally recieved my order on 8/11/21 I would definitely recommend calling to place an order to see if its actually available and if its coming directly from them and not a 3rd party vendor.
