Lovely staff but food quality not great

Lovely staff and everyone tries really hard to please, but the quality of the cuts of meat / taste of seafood just really isn’t very good - especially for what the restaurant is trying to be. Had to send back two plates of duck for being raw. Chicken quality was not great. Something didn’t taste good about the moules mariniere either. Had to leave lots.

Bad service

South Ken. Food was fine but the service was atrocious. The staff made us feel like we were a burden. We were the only customers in there hoping to eat. There were four waiters sitting around, making absolutely zero effort to acknowledge us. It felt like we were not worthy of their attention. We waited ages to be served as one of them slowly made coffees for a large group that was standing near the bar, but several other members of staff had seen us and ignored us. When we did finally order, our wine was forgotten. It’s not a cheap place so I won’t be coming back.

Gazette Battersea stands out…

Gazette Battersea stands out effortlessly, a place where great atmosphere and exceptional food come together every time. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the menu never disappoints. I always recommend the snails, the chateaubriand, the onion soup, and the mussels — a few of my absolute favourites.
A special thank you goes to Jamie, who makes the best margaritas in town. Once you try his, you genuinely won’t want them anywhere else. And Françoise, with his charm and wonderful sense of humour, always makes us feel right at home and is a big part of why we return week after week.
Now that Hervé is back, we’re even happier — especially when we’re greeted with his signature “ug” (a hug with that wonderful French pronunciation). Every visit feels special. The young student doctor, along with every single member of the team, is absolutely fantastic.
Thank you all for making every visit truly wonderful.

Promo not honoured

I booked a table at Gazette Clerkenwell on Saturday through The Fork, the waiter confirmed on arrival that my 50% discount would be applied to all food ordered. The food was really tasty. However, the experience quickly soured when the final bill arrived, and the General Manager decided to apply the discount to only half of the bill, despite the earlier confirmation by the waiter.

When I raised this, the General Nanager launched into a long, condescending explanation rather than resolving the issue. This uncomfortable exchange happened in front of other diners and left me feeling humiliated.

To make matters worse, I later discovered my booking had been cancelled on The Fork, seemingly to block me from leaving a review. Only after contacting customer service was my ability to leave feedback reinstated. This raises serious concerns about transparency and freedom of speech.

While the food was nice, the way this issue was handled overshadowed everything.

I should have received at 50% discount on all food purchased, the General Manager in charge initially wanted me to pay 50% for half of the order and full price for the other half.

Eventually it became so embarrassing trying to explain why this was unfair (to not honour the offer that I had booked) I settled for half of the food bill 50% off and the other half of the food bill 30% off.
Very disappointing - I have no intention of visiting this restaurant again.

Be warned diners, I do not want other customers to face similar treatment. it is inappropriate that restaurants mislead you through their doors and General Managers is charge think it acceptable to change parameters of promotions when it is time to settle the bill.

Terrible service

Terrible service, we were treated like we were dummies.
The staff is rude and unprofessionnal. We basically had a very stressful experience.
Food was good though.

Best food ever

I've only had food delivered from here but it is absolutely mouth wateringly delicious. Real French Brasserie food that arrives at my doorstep lovingly prepared. Thank you!
