Buying a replacement for a hand-held in a small church, I chose one that would just turn on and work, no pairing, no recharging, no alternate channels, range at least 40 feet (they claim 50m), as the receiver had to go at the back. In spite of being pretty simple, it did exactly what I wanted, just plugged-in (XLR to a desk) and worked. I haven't any idea on battery life yet, there is just one button, press-on, hold-off and being fixed frequency, it takes only a second to connect. Maybe the microphone turns itself off after a while, I just made sure that people knew to turn it off, as 5 hours' life isn't long if someone leaves it on for a whole church service every week. Note, it doesn't turn "power-off", just goes to standby.

Insane value for money at £50, sounds just like our SM58 that is £400+.
