Heavy handed tactics

We had a knock on the door from a man from the GBC re: electoral registration with a final warning and a threat of £ 1000 fine if we don’t comply. His concern was that they had no knowledge of all the people who live at this address. To make matters worse one of us has already registered to vote a week earlier.

We have only lived in the property for 2 weeks and haven’t had any reminders to register for the electoral roll. The house had been empty and up for sale for months so the council tax dept would’ve held that information. Equally a search of this property online would’ve shown this house as recently sold.

I became annoyed with this as it seems more like harassment. I made no personal insults or swearing or threatening behaviour but the man said he “will make a note of my rudeness”. Rather heavy handed tactics from GBC at what has been a stressful time.

I can't give no stars

I can't give no stars
The way the sport and leisure dept at this council treats the unfortunate sports clubs in their area is an absolute disgrace. Fields rarely cut and when they are they look like they've been cut with scissors .
People in authority give no help and don't know what they're doing yet no doubt are paid a nice fat salary and for what ?
I saw something asking for volunteers at their local club . I'd tell anyone not to volunteer unless the club is private . Gbc are a bunch of imbeciles . Asking them for a service and being fobbed off by bs

This council are awful

This council are awful, they ignore you and don’t do anything about any concerns you raise with them. Many of them speak to you as though they are above you.
One of the highest council tax rate areas in the country and this is how we are treated. Nobody where we live appears to have a good word to say about them.
