I would strongly advise to avoid

I would strongly advise buyers to exercise caution when dealing with this dealership.

I purchased a BMW 330e (reg WH17 HYN) through Gerry Hill back in December 2025. Which developed significant issues within 10 days of collection. An independent inspection identified multiple faults, including drivetrain / hybrid-related faults, as well as damage to the underneath of the car that the dealership must have been aware of before the point of sale, given that they had conducted a ‘comprehensive’ PDI. I called the Gerry Hill and spoke to Geraint (the owner) the day I became aware of the issues and the tone I was met with was very hostile and I was simply told ‘we’re not paying for that and you’re not getting a refund’.

I wrote to the dealership, sharing the independent report and asking for a refund or repair by BMW, they told me that they would not send the car to BMW and that they have their own process that they follow, when asked they couldn’t share what the process was with me, as I was told the person who wrote it wasn’t in that day. The dealership then wrote me a legal letter in response claiming that they had several rights under law that were untrue, I snipped the sections of the law they had quoted and showed them that it did not state what they said it did. From that point forward they never responded to me again.

Before sale I was verbally told on the phone that several items would be addressed, including advisories on the MOT which stated I ever wear on inner edges of all tyres. When I picked the car up they told me this had been done, and a fresh MOT was put on the car with no advisories. Later I found out that they had only swapped the front tyres and stated the rear ones were within legal thread depths and somehow dropped the previous advisories without taking any action (dodgy MOT). I told them this was not as we had agreed and requested a copy of the phone recordings that we agreed them on, they refused to provide them or a copy of their PDI. And instead stated that they had no written proof of agreeement.

The situation was ultimately escalated to the finance company, who chose to unwind the finance agreement entirely rather than defend the dealership’s position. Gerry Hill repeatedly delayed collection and demanded that the finance company pay to collect the car, even though they are legally required to do so themselves, they then were asking the finance company for £4000 to inspect the car. The outcome speaks for itself.

What concerns me most is not that the car developed faults — these things can happen — but the lies, lack of transparency, poor communication, and unwillingness to take responsibility once problems arose speaks volumes to me.

If you value clear communication, honesty and being treated fairly when something goes wrong, I would recommend considering alternative dealers. These issues were definitely known before the point of sale and honestly there is nothing positive I can say about these folks.

Not much parking at the site

Not much parking at the site. I blocked one of the service bays to just go and book in, called into the bay and told the service guy why I was there. Went in to book in for service, no directions or signs which desk is which. Told by a guy standing there to move the car onto the side road outside, I explained why it was there but was told to move it. Went back in and had to ask which desk was service. Greeted properly and left the keys. Car did not move for over an hour after this. Came back later to check out. My wife had to go to work so she left in the service car and I dealt with the bill. When I seen the car later I was very disappointed to see that the car had not been vacuumed or washed, seems trivial but part of the Toyota service are those two items, if the visual is not bothered with how do I know for certain the oil and brake fluid has been changed. Will not ever use this service again, £430 each time for the Toyota service, and I had to ask for the hybrid battery certificate to take away. Big NO from me.

Highly Recommended

Just bought a car from Gerry Hill, found the car on Autotrader, gave them a ring and spoke to Ryan and arranged to view the car a couple of days later.

The car was immaculately presented, Ryan was knowledgeable and had a comfortable no pressure approach. Took the car out for good 30 to 40 minute test drive.

Arranged to buy the car and to pick it up a couple of days later, the handover was smooth and effortless.

There's clearly a reason why this has been a successfully run family business for approaching 50 years.

I'll update this review further once I've experienced their aftercare.
