We enlisted the services of Gerson Relocation in The Netherlands to move our household belongings from our home in Amsterdam to USA. We contracted damage insurance through their recommended insurance coverage. During the move, we experienced damage losses worth EUR 7,000. When we filed the claim with the required forms and photos, they responded after two months that since the household products were over 7-years old they had no insurable value. They called it the "time-value" damage valuation. When we contracted the insurance through Gerson Relocation, they never explained this. We could not find references to the "time-value" valuation in the terms of insurance, so if it was in there, it was not noticeable. We believe this to be non-transparent and unfair to movers paying for services in good faith. We must have had over five telephone conversations with the Amsterdam staff at Gerson Relocation about the scope of the insurance coversage and not once did they identify "time-value" valuation. They always referred us to "replacement value". We highly recommend choosing another company to do your moving.

Efficient, professional, anticipated tricky parts, effective commhnication

The absolute worst experience! From the moment I signed the contract, things were difficult. First, they could not commit to a date of picking up my items. Then they LOST 20% of the boxes!! Not one of the boxes I received was labeled with my name, nor address. And they tried to give me a few things that belonged to other people. They never apologized, let alone compensated me. I spent over 6 months fighting this battle, first with the company and then thier useless insurance. Find someone else, make sure you watch them pack and label your boxes, and get your own insurance. On the receiving end, get your packing list first, check to make sure each box is there before they try to get to the next client, take your time, you paid for this service. But first and foremost, find another company. Please heed my advice and let me awful experience not be yours

My company arranged my relocation through Gerson Relocation and I have to say the service was amazing. We were lucky enough to have Holly look after us and she was brilliant. She made us feel so excited about the move and ensured we had all the facts. I would recommend Gerson to anyone.

We recently moved from our home in London to New York and after reviewing tens of shipping companies, the only one we could find which didn't have negative reviews was Gerson Relocation, so we made contact and a very helpful surveyor came to visit us in order to produce a quote. He was very helpful and professional and within a short time we had what we thought was a reasonable quote
A date was booked at short notice and at the appointed day, a crew of 4 men came to greet the 40ft container booked to take our belongings
It was a large amount - in the region of 240 items - but the men got busy packing the items and in spite of heavy rain, didn't stop until they had finished the job some hours after the allotted time
They worked extremely professionally, were very patient and courteous
We saw later, when we unpacked the boxes in NY, that they had done an incredible job in packing the many articles - a lot of them made of glass - with tremendous care evidenced by the fact that there was no breakage whatsoever - hard to believe
This was all coupled with the fact that their counterpart in NY who would bring the shipment to our door were equally helpful well trained and professional and helped us unpack all the boxes and distribute the articles to the various places in our new apartment without pressure of time
If you are looking for a painless moving experience at a reasonable price, I would highly recommend Gerson Relocation

Terrible experience. We left Rotterdam end of May. It's mid September and I still haven't received my things in Brazil. Four months and counting. I have relocated many times and have never waited for over 4 months (and counting) to have my things sent to me. Frustrating.

We received our things on October 16th. The condition of our furniture was surprisingly poor. The shelf unit and the tv rack were so badly damaged that we decided to give them away and get new ones. My wooden office table was also damaged. The furniture was clearly not wrapped accordingly to endure the log period of storage and the long trip after.
Just don't bother to hire this company!

Gerson relocations has been great in their overall service. Nicolas, especially has been fabulous, super prompt in his responses.

We have used Gerson before which made it an easy decision to use again now.
As ever, an excellent service made easy by Emma in London & her colleagues in the US.
Everything went smoothly & seamlessly from getting a quote, to furniture being packed & collected to delivery to 2 different places in the US.

Gerson Relocation, and Thomas in particular, were very helpful in getting me an emergency moving truck and price quote at the last possible moment. The price was also very reasonable and fair.

Reliance and facilitating the customer requirement.

The biggest issue was the "tyranny of distance". Liaising with a company on the other side of the world and in a very different time zone meant for delayed correspondence. Email lag and inconvenient timing for any phone calls. My previous relocation experiences have been dealing directly with the companies involved and there was no need for a 3rd party convenor. That being said the companies that Gerson's employed were terrific. Nuss in Sydney, Yamantane in Yokohama/Tokyo offered amazing, diligent service of the highest standard and Tokyo Orientations also were excellent. I would especially like to mention Makiko san (from T.O) who was an absolute godsend. Her communications were prompt and super-efficient and her choice of suppliers too were first rate. She made the Tokyo end experience as painless as it could be and as a result we are now as "set up" as we could possibly hope to be at this early stage. I understand we are not supposed to include names in this review but i felt it appropriate in this case as moving your entire family and belongings from one country to another can be a stressful and personally trying experience and having that very consistent human point of contact and interaction lessened the impact on my wife and myself. This is my 5th international relocation and while at times i felt i was not party to the process the logistics ended up working out smoothly and according to Gerson's laid out plan.

We had the pleasure of working with Tom Mitchell from Gerson Relocation while we were organizing our move from the Netherlands to Canada. Tom was always very responsive, kind and patient with us as we figured out our plans! Thank you for all your support.

Good professionals that helped us unpack fast and efficient. Worked well with their partners from our home country to our new destination country.

So far, my experience with this company has been really great. I selected them because they were the least expensive option for my move. The process was relatively easy and straightforward and everyone has been very professional so far. The only hang up has been the delay in my items arriving, although the people handling my case have been very responsive and informative regarding the shipping delay. I don't believe this to be a normal issue and would therefore highly recommend this company to anyone planning their future move.

I wanted to add that Pim, my moving manager, has been a huge part of this positive experience with Gerson. He has kept me well informed and made sure that everything is going smoothly with my move. Additionally, he has gone above and beyond to make sure that my items will be arriving in a timely manner.
His help has taken so much of the stress out of relocating. I would absolutely recommend his services to anyone considering using this company.

Cheap and excellent service

We moved from Switzerland to Denmark. In spite of the fact that our items traveled via the Netherlands, it only took 1 week and was cheaper than any other moving company we contacted. The movers were quick and professional and wrapped all the items carefully. Nothing got lost or damaged in shipping.

Professional and kind staff, all was executed well and unpacked here in Amsterdam. It did feel like the team was in quite a hurry towards the end, but it was no problem to schedule a follow-up appointment to take boxes and packaging material that were still left behind. Good experience overall
