Packing and unpacking crews were great. The damage sustained to a.piece of my furniture was not. Let alone the reimbursement for that damage being significantly less than the value. $84 for destroying $2,000 furniture. Unacceptable

If less than one star was possible, I would choose it. Do not hire this company. It was a horrible experience. After filling out the information about what I needed moved and speaking with them on the phone and being assured that they would move my upright piano the movers refused saying it was against their policy. The did not bring a big enough truck so they could not move my outdoor furniture. The movers were unable to take apart a bed frame. Please note: All they had to move was furniture and a few totes. I moved all the boxes and items that were on the walls myself. They left a rug and other items in the house, scraped paint and trampled plants. This was a move across town of a three bedroom house. It took them almost 8 hours. To top it off they charged me an additional $800. dollars for "extra hours". So in addition to not moving what they had agreed to I am being penalized for their incompetence by being charged almost double the original quote and having to hire additional movers. A move that was supposed to cost $1000 is now costing close to $3000. I am a 70 year old single woman and feel that I have been scammed and takes advantage of. Beware. Find a professional moving company.

They called me repeatedly to "help" yet every time someone called me they had the wrong information. They couldn't help transfer my services and were no help with coordinating the movers. The drivers and I had to wait 3 hours for the unload crew to show up. I called customer service 4 times and all they ever told me is they had no way to contact the crew. All in all not an awesome experience

Update: Bellhop's claims team did finally get back to me and we reached a resolution with compensation in an amount that was in line with my expectations. I have updated the original review that follows to reflect this.
Several of our belongings were damaged in the move and we were directed to file a claim online. After filing the claim, we only received automated responses, and no communication from an actual human or proper resolution until several weeks later, despite the automated messages telling us to expect responses within days.
The loading crew that showed up on our move-out date was not uniformed and not all of them were there on time. They also did not present any paperwork, refused to scan the code Bellhop told us they would need, and complained about their own interactions with Bellhop when pressed about it. They did not pack our items securely or use adequate furniture pads either, which we believe resulted in some of the damage that occurred. They also partly tore off the mattress bag our Bellhop agent told us we would have to provide, and the mattress arrived filthy and damaged as well.
The trucking service seemed fine, with a timely arrival at both loading and unloading locations.
The unloading crew were also fine, at least in comparison to the loading crew. They did their best to tape the mattress cover back together before any further damage occurred, though they did add some minor damage to another piece of furniture by allowing part of it to fall off the truck deck when trying to handle too many pieces at once.
The majority of our belongings did arrive on time and undamaged, so this wasn't an absolutely horrible experience, but Bellhop was not the cheapest of our options, and we chose them because we thought we were getting superior service for the added expense. I'm left wishing we had saved the money and gone with a cheaper competitor.

Loved how fast and efficient and careful they were with my furniture!
Even though they are professional and had everything under control they let me have say what I wanted to say and didn’t cut me off and displayed true customer service!

The team was great. Ontime, professional, careful with our belongings. I'd request these same people again in my next move.

The concept of bellhop is genius! I was really intrigued by how innovative it was and I love the dashboard feature where you can see your team, rate them individual and tip. So smart! I do feel there is a small disconnect between the sale part of the move and the move itself. The teams did not seem very informed on the logistics of the move and after having done a thorough walk through with my sales person, I felt the information (ie: that I have a very large cabinet that may require straps, a small elevator, etc) could have been given to them prior so they could’ve been more prepared. I offered to send photos and measurements of a lot of items and my stairways and was told this was not necessary, however this could have alleviated points of tension during the move in which one of the team leads was convinced I had a cabinet over 300lbs (which they cannot move) and did not want to unload it. The team also wrapped a lot of my furniture in stretch-wrap rather than with blankets and my expectation was that all of my furniture pieces were going to be wrapped in blankets (I think they may not have had enough). This led to a lot of wet furniture as well as a lot of dirty items (hand prints and shoe prints on a lot). All of these factors lead to a lack of communication between the sale and the move that could have better set my teams up for success. I work in the industry of furniture and furniture delivery and I also feel there were some methods/practices that weren’t the most safe for the teams and maybe some further proper training on moving-safety could have been beneficial. Overall my experience was great, but I think if the teams had been set up with better tools, better education and support then the whole experience could have been more seamless. Also, I do hope in future that mask-wearing is told to be an expectation and if the team needs to catch their breath to do so outside the home in a safe distance from the furniture/others.

The movers were great. They were corteous, on time and capable. I just think that the company should have them better equipped. They showed up with no dolly, or lifting ropes or lifting equipment that could help them avoid injury and help them be quicker; the company should provide those for them. Bellhop's website is great and has the looks of a startup a la UBER. I really hope this is not another 'disrupter' company that kills an entire industry and then creates a new one forcing lower wages and no benefits for unskilled workers via a subcontracting model. If that is the case, I will stick with the traditional, local companies the next time.
