Marcella - made in China
My recent purchase of the Marcella Denim bag is a huge disappointment.
I bought it blindly via internet, having full trust in the brand based on my previous experiences (several Marcella's). It is clear that now the brand has shifted its focus from high-quality Italian craftsmanship to cost-cutting mass production.
Under the "Firenze" branding, you get 100% Made in China product. The material composition is no longer the premium canvas I used to experience; the leather details are backed with a synthetic interlining (fleece-like material) instead of being solid, natural leather. The bag is stiff and doesn't "work" or adjust to the body like my previous Marcella did. Even the protective dust bag has been downgraded from cotton to 100% polyester.
This is a mass-market item with a premium price tag. Unfortunately, the product information on the website is completely insufficient and does not allow customers to assess the current synthetic quality.
I’ve lost my trust in Gianni Chiarini brand.
