Giftnix SCAMMED me. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. THEY RUN A SCAM THROUGH A PAYPAL LOOPHOLE.

I bought a $50 League of Legends gift card on March 25, 2019. I went through their full phone verification process, and the gift card was in fact delivered to me within minutes. However, when I tried to redeem it, it said the card was already redeemed!

I thought this must have been a mistake, so I contacted Riot Games customer support for help – the support agent told me the card had actually been redeemed SEVERAL WEEKS AGO, despite the gift code having just been delivered to me. I angrily forwarded my FULL CHAT TRANSCRIPT to Giftnix customer support, who after responding once asking for a screenshot of the error message, IGNORED ALL FUTURE EMAILS. They NEVER got back to me, despite me constantly emailing their customer support. I asked them to contact Riot Games themselves to verify this, but they simply ignored me.

As a last ditch effort, I went to PayPal and filed for a chargeback since I'd been scammed. After another week of correspondence, PayPal informed me that they'd be unable to help me because there was a loophole in PayPal's buyer protection policy which DOES NOT PROTECT DIGITAL GOODS. They knew I'd been scammed and an agent told me to write negative reviews, report them to the FTC, and file a complaint to BBB, but that there was nothing I can do to get my money back.

I'll never get my $50 back. DON'T BE ME AND FALL FOR THIS SCAM.

EDIT: Because I can't reply to Giftnix's response below directly, I will put my response here. Giftnix is LYING. I have the FULL CHAT TRANSCRIPT with Riot Games customer support showing that the agent clearly saying the gift code was redeemed "AT THE BEGINNING OF MARCH, SEVERAL WEEKS AGO". However, I purchased the gift card on March 25, 2019, and got this response from the agent on March 26, 2019. POST YOUR EVIDENCE, GIFTNIX, IN THE RESPONSE BELOW. SHOW US YOU'RE NOT LYING. I'LL UPLOAD PROOF TOO, JUST AS I DID TO PAYPAL AND MY BANK AND TRUSTPILOT.

It seems everything is ok when you place the order. BUT they will ask you many times to verify your identity and the most important thing is you never pass the verification. And you are unable to cancel the order.

I bought a Steam Card for my grandson, whose 17th birthday is later this week. We both live in Florida USA now, but I have been buying this card for him every birthday since he was old enough to play video games on a PC, back when he was living around the world with his Dad who was in the Air Force! (So that’s probably 8 or 9 years now.) I gave him a choice this year: Dinner out? Big birthday cake? Movie? Gasoline card for his car? Steam card? Or cash? And he STILL chose the STEAM CARD!!! I think that is testament enough to the staying power and attraction of the ever-popular Steam card!

It was my first time to order so I was prepared to wait a bit for verification before getting my orders. It was super quick though and my payment went through right away. I’m in Vietnam and I have problems using a non-US credit card linked to my PayPal on some sites but not a problem for this one. Prices for bundles are pretty good. I will definitely buy again!

I actually really liked using Giftnix for getting gift cards, for about two years I've been getting a giftcards from them every few months with no issues, a few of the times even getting $1 off my next order if I rated their service.

But my last order is where I have a problem personally, but to someone else this wouldn't be much of an issue.

A few days ago I ended up getting a few $10 giftcards, and the next day I ended up getting another one.
I got the first few just fine but on the last giftcard I get an e-mail saying I won't be able to get the card unless I use photo of myself with my order # written on paper.

Personally I feel like photo identification should be totally optional and only if you want that as extra security. For me it seems supicious to be REQUIRED to do it. I've had more transactions on other sites compared to giftnix and this has never been something those services require as a sort of 'saftey precaution'.

I was able to get my giftcard with a partial face shot + order number, but also got an e-mail saying not enough of my face was in the photo, but I got my giftcard so it's all good, would've asked for a refund otherwise. No way a business based on selling giftcards should need your photo in my opinion.

So if that's something that will be required from now on, I'm not sure I'll be back.
