Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE

I ride a Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE, and I recently ordered crash bars from Givi.

I started on their website by selecting my exact bike using their fitment tool (V-Strom 1050DE). I intentionally used the selector so I wouldn’t accidentally order the wrong part.

While browsing through the filtered results, I added a set of crash bars to my cart and placed the order.

When they arrived, they did not fit my bike at all. After looking into it further, it turns out the bars that were shipped are actually designed for a Honda model, which makes no sense considering I started my shopping session under Suzuki → V-Strom 1050DE.

I contacted customer service expecting them to stand behind their fitment system. Instead, I was told I would need to pay for return shipping.

Mistakes happen, but if a customer relies on a company’s own compatibility tool and it leads them to the wrong part, that shouldn’t fall back on the customer to fix.

I’m hoping Givi will reconsider and stand behind their fitment system. I’d much rather update this post with a positive resolution and good customer service.

Hope this helps other when choosing…

Hope this helps other when choosing their motorcycle luggage. Bought Givi Trekker outback black full set luggage and Racks for my BMW GS in April 2024 from online official distributor Native Viking or MC-1 as know in the North East ( 2 year warranty) had an issue with one pannier being loose sent back to Native Viking as advised by Givi. Since then each company has blamed the other for dealing with my warranty claim. Totally ignore your emails and calls I even went on the Givi stand at MCL 25 nothing from them. They have had my pannier longer than I have. AVOID Givi and Native Viking complete shower take your money not interested after that. They still have my pannier after nearly 10 months

The reply provided is total fabrication I purchased these from an approved supplier MC-1 I requested a full refund as you have not responded to any email or phone call I've made in 10 months when approached on your stand at MCL Birmingham your team member knew all about my issue and simply blamed the supplier and promised he would get it sorted out on his return to the office, so now everything is in context and accurate would you like to explain your complete lack of customer support and failure to communicate as this is the first actual response I've had from Givi UK since April 2025 or should I bring taking this up with your Italian directors, hopefully it won't take them 10 months and a trustpilot review to respond

Can you explain why you have not responded to the emails and phone calls I made to your office in the last 10 months, I finally received the pannier and rack back from MC1 on Monday they were sent back in the original packaging when sent to them in April 2025 not even inspected, so there has been zero support from either yourselves or them since this was brought to your attention. To add insult to injury since in their possession or during return carriage the items are now damaged as well as being faulty. You are publicly being given the opportunity to do the right thing, contact me to resolve this don't fob me off with an email address you don't respond too.

The panniers and racks in question were purchased second-hand from a private individual. As required by current regulations, all our products are covered by a 2‑year warranty from the date of the original purchase, a condition that in this case does not apply.
From the outset, we made ourselves available to carry out a complete technical inspection of the products in order to assess their condition and the possible origin of the reported issues. However, your request has consistently been exclusively for a full refund of the panniers and mounts at list price, without accepting any inspection on our part that could verify the validity of the statements made.

Despite not having been involved in the sale and not being obligated to intervene (as this concerned the purchase of used goods from a private individual), we nevertheless attempted to support all parties involved, including liaising with the retailer, with the aim of providing fair and collaborative service.

We reiterate that we remain available to carry out a technical inspection of the products, as we always do with professionalism and transparency, even in cases where the warranty period has expired.

GIVI Customer Service - WHERE IS IT?

I purchased a rear splash guard from M&P in the UK. The guard broke but is within the Givi warranty period so I contacted M&P - who I found out had ceased trading.
2 months, 5 emails to two different official Givi email boxes and NOT ONE RESPONSE from GIVI.
Customer Service appears to be non-existent; BEWARE.

GIVI Support were in contact after this review was posted. They have replaced the broken part and as such I have changed the review to 4*. I would have given 5*, but I should not have had to go to such levels to obtain customer support/service attention to this matter in the first place.

When you think it's better to buy the 'Proper' GIVI stop light for your GIVI 370 box..

After suffering simultaneously failure of both the rear tail and stop light bulb on my Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, I decided to fit an additional stop light. These were available online from £8, however I was dubious of the quality, ease of fitting and brightness. I decided that if I spent £38 on the correct GIVI 108 stop lamp, designed to fit my GIVI 370 box it would be easy.🤣🤣
5 hours later, it is finally fitted, but fitting is not for the faint hearted and is certainly not straightforward.
1. The instructions are of poor quality, unclear what they refer to, with a poor parts list and rubbish photos.
2. The new lamp couldn't be assembled as the LEDs were to big for the reflector, which had to be drilled, then the circuit board didn't line up with the back and had to be filed.
3. The finally assembled unit wouldn't fit in the existing red reflector, which needed a slot filed in it.
4. The picture of where to drill a hole in the lid was rubbish, so careful positioning and measurements required.
After all this the light actually works well and i like the contact system as the lid opens, and the base pins mean the box can still be removed.

Am still waiting for my package to be…

Am still waiting for my package to be sent after 6 weeks. I have tried repeatedly to get in contact through email, phone and messenger but no response. I contacted afterpay and have asked for a refund but they have not been successful in contacting them either. Avoid purchasing from them.

Givi's Cutomer Support

I have been using Givi products for over twenty years, and I believe they are worth every penny. Recently, I encountered a minor issue with the last product I purchased and contacted Givi's customer service. They responded promptly and did everything they could to resolve the issue. It’s normal for issues to arise with any product, and this is completely understandable. What truly matters is how the company stands behind its product and genuinely makes an effort to address its customers' concerns. I am deeply grateful to Givi customer service for their excellent support.

Environmental Terrorists- No spares.

Despite being ISO14001 accredited for Environemtal performance, Givi would not supply a spare part for a recent pannier rack (at any cost). These two small parts, worth about 20p are needed to make the rack usable. Instead I will have to purchase an entirely new (identical) rack according to Givi UK, meaning the old one will be scrapped. At a cost of over £200 that seems very short sighted.

Why did Intertek Italia Accreddit them with ISO1401:2015 ?

Please consider alternative suppliers who support their products through an environmentally sound lifecycle.

Hopeless Customer Service

I have to admit that I was shocked to see how many 1* reviews when I opened this page but here I am, adding my own. I recently ordered a soft luggage frame but, when it arrived, I found a small, very specific but integral part of the fitting kit to be missing. I contacted Givi for assistance who ignored the request. I contacted the seller who, to their credit, tried to resolve the matter however Givi demanded a photograph of all the parts as well as the quality control label. I had already completed part if the installation and had already disposed of packaging including quality control labels and couldn't complete this request so am left high and dry. The missing part was very specific and to lie about it missing would have been pointless. If this is the way Givi treat their customers, I will now rethink my brand loyalty.

GIVI "cause a crash bars"

I crashed my bike as a result of the engine guard coming into contact with the ground resulting in a low side, damaged bike, damaged riding gear and damaged ribs. GIVI isn't interested. I won't be purchasing anything else from this company.

I purchased my Motorcycle Helmet around…

I purchased my Motorcycle Helmet around 2014-2015 and thought it would be good to buy a replacement Clear Visor. no one stocks them all out of stock.
Model HPS X.08 so I contact GIVI UK and they say order from the UK website they give me the part number for the visor type it in but nothing comes up email them back no reply. avoid this Manufacturer they do not care.

you're just a number to Givi, buy another brand.

I have everything Givi, helmet, screen, crash bars, spot lamps, and many boxes over the years. One particular aluminium case suffered from a lot of rattling, numerous emails were exchanged, they sent some rubber bungs which made no difference, seems it's a design issue, or a faulty box. In desperation, I eventually parcelled up the box, put all the emails inside, taped the key to the top, and posted it to then. The email read 'If you're not going to help me out with this problem, you might as well throw the box in your skip !' I guess you could say I asked for it, but were Givi in touch ? no, did I ever see my box again ? no. they threw away the box I paid hundreds for, that's how much Givi cares about it's customers ! Bravo Givi !

Products don't fit, false advertising, irresponsible... a sad experience at first, which has led me to better alternatives

I've ordered a luggage rack and tank bag for my motorcycle. On every single advertised picture the rack has a nice finish and is made in 1 piece.
The actual product has gone through changes, is made of multiple pieces, and the connection points are terribly messy. At some point they descided to remove the bolts holding the parts together, but the holes and threaded inserts are still there.
The sole reason for the changes would be the production margins applied by my bike manufacturer, though both 'symmetrical' parts of the luggage rack by GIVI show clear deviatons, the bend radius of certain curvatures differed 5 degrees between both sides.
A messy product, Aliexpress literally has better solutions. They refer to the small print, noting products are subject to change. And in the meantime they find it neccesary to degenerate my bike, pointing at the manufacturer in the way a 6-year old waves away any responsibility. Great attitude...
SHAD has a better solution for fitting my bike with a luggage rack, they solved the deviations at the very core of their design/system. And their advertising is correct.
The seller was honestly ashamed of the way Givi advertised the product, they felt inclined to provide personal pictures of the actual product on their website. I was able to ship the luggage rack back, although it was assembled, the tubes were in new condition. With a new set of montage parts they would be able to sell the product again. Unbelievably, GIVI charged them for the parts, after which they charged me for the set of bolts.
The GIVI tank bag didn't fit my motorcycle, although it was the sole tank bag their website specifically suggested for my bike. Again they refer to the fine print stating they can't guarantee a fit. This is plain false advertising and smells like white collar criminality. This company has particularly low standards and is a disgrace compared with companies actually caring the least about quality and fairness.
I would look out towards SHAD. Smarter solutions, clean, neat and better price vs quality. Their tank bag locking system, for example, is on a whole other level.

Avoid this brand.

I installed a new windshield on my honda xl1000, as the original was too low. I used the model which givi site recommended for me. It turned out that the ABE (TÜV certification) for this shield does not list my motorbike model. As a result, I could not pass TÜV. When I sent a request to givi asking for help they in general refused to help, promising only to update the ABE somewhere in the future (has not happened so far).

after purchasing a pair of side cases…

after purchasing a pair of side cases and a rack at 650GBP I was very excited to fit them to my triumph t120. however the locking device that secured the case to the bike so people can't just take them off and walk away with your stuff when your away would not line up.

this part retails at 50GBP I contacted givi uk to see if they would supply me with a spare due to the item being faulty and not lining up. this should of taken 10 minutes to fit but after 2 hours of trying it would work. one of there team then lied to be and told me I had the wrong products and this would working with my model bike even though id seen it working in serval YouTube videos.

so after owning the panniers and rack for last then a week their seems to be absolutely no warranty or givi admitting they have produced a part this isn't quite fit for purpose. wouldn't recommend this product because the customer service and after sales care is the worse and rudest I've ever experinced.
