After spending over £1000 pounds on a van that I paid 4000 for, they have now blocked me on everything!
Got a letter from warranty company telling me that my warranty was never paid for or purchased and my fuse box that I was supposed to get was never bought, when contacting Davie about my problems was told to fcuk off and that I didn’t have a leg to stand on (although I have it all in writing)
I’ve contacted trading standards and I’m not the first that are telling me and also been to my lawyer about taking them to court for get back the extra it’s cost me.
And loss of earnings

Selling cars/vans that are apparently just freshly MOT’d and serviced… in reality they’re falling apart.

Nearly £1000 down on repairs and things still going wrong, they blocked my number straight after sale and the warranty company sent a letter saying they didn’t pay the warranty.

Absolute SCAM!!

NEVER EVER go near these cowboys if you value your hard earned cash, recently bought a Kia Carens and it's as bad as the car I just scrapped. Handbrake non existent despite being assured it was fixed. Brakes and ABS have completely failed twice while driving. Hole in the exhaust. Play in track rod ends and ball joints. Clutch not got much life left in it. How the hell this car got an MOT is beyond me. Must have something to do with being friendly with the little garage right next door. I have tried many times to call, left emails and messages but no one replies, I wonder why.
This has now been reported to trading standards and VOSA who are very interested in Glasgow trade sales now also with the dodgy garage next door issuing dodgy mot certificates. Salesman's name was Dan and he is a typical car salesman, full of crap.

I was recommended about glasgow motors on Facebook randomly after having enquired about a car that seemed to be priced unbelievably cheap but 'apparently' it was sold after just a short few hours, anyways so I clicked on to the site given and it brought me to glasgow motors website. I browsed through a bunch of cars at prices that seemed again far too good to be true but I really liked a Mercedes I saw. I already own several cars and currently drive a 64 plate bmw 335, so I keep abreast with prices of cars so I was feeling a bit sceptical about the website.

I rang the number on their website and it was some weird automated system with no answer or a real call back that it so kindly says so I emailed and finally after a few days I got an answer. The response seemed sophisticated and genuine which is an art for fraud. I asked for a call back to purchase a car and this is what I am told, there is a £100 fee for documentation, a fee for delivery, to be added to the "price" of the car but only after I sign an agreement and send it back and make the payment. I said that it is all fine but I would like to view the vehicle before purchasing can I arrange an appointment as I do not need it delivering I would like to make the payment in person. Now this is when I realise it is bogus and bizarrely wrong to even consider trusting because every other car sales business on our planet lets you view the vehicle you want to purchase physically with your own two eyes as that is the purpose of a car sale. They tell me, sorry but we are an online business only, we do not have the cars but the banks do so we cannot show you anything, we need the agreement back and full payment first. So i thought eh.. only after I pay them a small fortune, not even asking for a deposit but a full payment via the bank, as stated on the phone, so no cash we only take bank transfers. My wife works for a bank so I know very well that no bank in the UK can truly do anything to recover your money when you give permission EVEN if it was an easy fraudulent act such as this.

They were NOT going to magically provide me with a brand new hpi clear suprisingly low mileage Mercedes from some bank at the price of an old fiesta at my door. That is what I would define as daydreaming.

I live a bit too far to go check the address but I would presume it is fake or abandoned.

MOST DEFINITELY A SCAM!!!

Stay clear of this 2nd hand car sales, we have spent best part of £1000 to make the car we bought road worthy, to the point we have now gone to Arnold Clark who have told us the car we bought was written off so we will get £200 for the car. How the car got thru an MOT is beyond belief a complete rust bucket and we have been completely ripped off and don’t want anyone to make the same mistake.. stay clear of this company

Back in March I bought a Ford Fiesta from Glasgow Trade Sales and traded in my Corsa. I tried to contact the dealership within 30 days of purchase as I had it checked out by a local garage who found multiply issues adding up to roughly £1000 to fix and a total DEATH TRAP to drive but the dealership wouldn’t answer my calls, texts or emails.
I contacted consumer Scotland who sent me 2 letters over the space of a month to send to Glasgow trade sales as I was well within my rights to get a full refund or my repair costs paid for but yet again i had no answer.
It has been passed on to trading standards who have recently contacted me and enlightened me about this car dealership. It turns out they have had many many cases involving Glasgow Trade Sales which are exactly the same as mine, no contact after sale what so ever and the sale of faulty cars. Trading standards also told me that it appears that they don’t have a second hand dealers license so this means they also sell cars illegally.

James Doyle is the name of the guy who owns the company. This man is a total con artist/fraudster and has been in jail before for it. If you type into google “James Doyle from Glasgow” you will learn all about him. It is a family business of Son, brother and cousin who all are in on it too.

I should also mention before I traded in my corsa i had many issues with the car and traded it in for £450, 2 days after I traded it in it was polished off, fresh set of trims and out for sale for £1495 and I KNOW that that car needed a lot of work done to it so there is no way that it should of been out for sale especially at £1495. I also got a letter through the door saying that the corsa was left abandoned along the M8 J15.🤯

This company is just stealing your money when you buy a car. I am totally devastated it happened to me and I would hate for this to happen to anyone else. I have been constantly phoning people for advice and help over the past few months but it seems that there is a very low chance that I will get my money back or car repairs paid for. I honestly have no idea HOW this place is still open with everything I have found out about James Doyle and this dealership.

Great price and service throughout the buying process, no hard sell and all queries were answered truthfully and in simple understandable terms. 100% happy and would not hesitate to recommend Derek and the team to everyone.

I bought a Vauxhall Astra from Glasgow Trade sales. I wasn’t going to bother buying a car right before Christmas as I thought it would be too much hassle but Derek made it very easy and stress free! I traded in my Renault Clio as I needed something bigger, got a great deal and I’m so happy with my new car. I would definitely recommend Glasgow trade sales to my friends and family! I went here for a nosey as I was after a focus and they had 4 in stock in my price range. On arrival I was left to have a look. Eventually I look up and "oh no the sales man" you know what I mean. I was greeted by Derek, who simply introduced himself, said if I had any questions just give him a shout and to take my time, then he left me to it. Amazing! When I did have a question Derek did not see this as his chance to now not leave me alone, he answered my questions and again left me to it. I love this. I also did not feel that he was leaving me to it because he could not be bothered. He was friendly and helpful. Thank you Derek for not being an annoying pushy salesrobot.
I bought the car and collected it on Christmas eve. I had a small issue with the car which Derek helped sort out without any fuss whatsoever. What's more amazing is rather than have me drive 2 hours back to Glasgow he was happy to let me book the car into my local garage and pay the bill. He also sent a couple of messages to make sure the car was okay and I had received the payment. If this is not 5* service then I don't know what is.
I would definitely use this garage again and hope to deal with Derek.

Just bought a car from here a week ago. Great selection of cars at very reasonable prices and great conditions. On the customer service side, couldn’t have asked for more really...every question asked was answered fully and politely. Would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone who asked.

For anyone thinking about buying a car DO NOT BUY from GLASGOW TRADE SALES

I purchased a car from GLASGOW TRADE SALES on 14/2/18 with 3 months warranty!

I have been trying to contact them since the 10/3/18 to report some problems I am experiencing. They hang up on me & don’t return any calls when I leave messages. They also refuse to acknowledge or respond to emails. I now realise they have done this a lot to other customer’s.

After a bit of investigation on my part the warranty they claim to offer with “Warranty Wise” which you can clearly see advertised on all their current cars is a complete LIE. I have personally spoken to warranty wise and GLASGOW TRADE SALES are not an approved dealer of warranty wise and haven’t been for 5/6 months now.

They are liars and cheats please do not buy a car from them it’s not worth the risk. Check out the reviews on Google and Auto Trader I wish I had before buying my car. All I can do now is warn others so they don’t fall for the same lies I did. Please help me by sharing this with family and friends in the Glasgow area!
