It seemed a great way to gauge network usage, until I installed about 200GB of Steam games in one go and noticed that it hadn't registered in the app at all. If such a huge chunk of data didn't regist... See more

There is no way to remove your payment information

Their website stores your payment information and there is no way to remove it, this is already a red flag. Be aware before subscribing, if you read their terms, they are allowed to bill your credit card any time they want.

Hi Ahmed,

Your payment details are not stored on our website but with Stripe which is the highly secure payment platform we use for payment processing. Your payment information can be removed at any time.

Our terms state that the card can be billed for future payments, this is necessary as the GlassWire licenses are yearly subscriptions, so this ensures users can enable or disable auto-renewal of their subscription.

I hope that helps,
Katie

Purchased a "lifetime" license a few months back on Steam.

Changed PC, cannot activate the software on new PC. That's not how Steam works, and that's not how lifetime works as it wasn't "one install only". Yes, on one machine only.

Support isn't responding. Not directly, not on Steam, not on Twitter.

I think the company is bankrupt, or if they are not yet, they soon will be with that kind of support.

I'll see when the payment was, and if I can get it back via PayPal.

Spams me with ads for a sale that has ended

It does monitor my network traffic, but it also constantly spams me with ads to upgrade my subscription. I only run windows on one PC, so the other options are pointless, but it keeps telling me there's a seasonal sale on and to "Upgrade". That's bad enough, but if you click on the link it says the sale has ended. Utter shambles, it wont get renewed.

They charged me twice for the subscription renewal!! When my first year was up they charged me twice for it. After I complained they just refunded me and cancelled my subscription. No apology for charging me twice, and no refund of the international credit card fees, and just useless customer service. I would *never* give these people permission to charge my credit card again, so be warned if you think about subscribing to GlassWire. On reflection, it's not such a great piece of software and expensive.

Too expensive.

Given that the paid version of the app really only adds a firewall (the rest of the features are almost fully useless) it just waaaay too expensive. Paying 40 bucks a year for a subscription to a firewall that doesn't even block most of the ransomware.
There are companies that sell similar features (even more) for the same price.

Glasswire Firewall Software

Whilst I see others concern on Privacy and Glasswire/SecureMix LLC Server, I have found the software and simple notifications very good. As for the subscription, it was clear this was annually paid and whilst an unsubscribe may not be present, a call to Customer Service would no doubt result in you being able to cancel. Try the free download, you may be very happy, I was.

I use this software at work and at home.At work we use it to keep track of network usage along with scanning for badware. Highly recommend this. Also like how they support the EFF and other privacy orgs.

Stops apps from calling bad servers

If you do not like apps phoning home without permission then you will like Glassware.

I used it to find an app calling home that had no business to do so.

I just use the free version. Paid is expensive but the free one is good enough for my computer.

Useless risky app with fine print subscription model

The capacity of this tools is very limited from the practical perspective. The UI looks beautiful and the information is somehow comprehensive but does not provide you with the power to execute practical control on your system.
However, it does add privacy concerns (you cannot block GlassWire tool from sending who knows what data to them) and in other hand their subscription model has fine print conditions: when you buy it they put it on a way that seems to be a one time subscription payment, but it is a yearly recurrent payment. Worst aspect: there is NO WAY to unsubscribe, so they'll keep charging your credit card forever.
Stay away from this useless tool, it is a waste of money, a privacy risk and a problem in your credit card.

Great network monitor and Firewall

I was looking for a good network monitoring software and something to upgrade the windows firewall, GlassWire was exactly what I wanted. It looks great and is easy to use, contains a list of great features (with more coming in the future), so overall I'm satisfied with how it works.
I'm waiting for more of the promised features, keep up the great work!
