Laptop bag with that barely deserves the name

The brand GT is an absolute specialist item, nobody knows or recognises. So far so good. I just ordered a Laptop bag from their Metropolis series (this leather series is Italian made, not UK) and will return it. It‘s function is so much reduced, that it‘s barely functionable at all: No padding, no space for power supply, no feet, to protect the leather when put on the floor (even my 300 EUR BREE laptop bag has that), just 2 zipper „pockets“ in the inner lining (the purpose of these 2 bags are the designer‘s secret - eventually to put in your credit card). The touch of the leather is nice, yes, and the design is kind‘a unique with the riveted corner. But that‘s about it. It‘s kind‘a beautiful, un-practical and heavily overpriced. I think this product is no understatement, it’s an example for how people are ripped off with so called „luxury lables“, which is in fact pseudo-luxury and a real waste of money!

They will not stand behind their product

Although they make very nice bags in form they do not stand behind the bag when repair is needed. I purchased a medium, four-roller case, 18 months ago and have used it only a few times because I was afraid of damaging it. On my last trip a wheel broke while I was moving through the airport. The wheels are proprietary and I had to return the bag to England for repair. Upon arrival it was determined that it was not a manufacture problem so they wanted $500 to fix the wheel. Their customer service is non-responsive. If you want a nice looking bag it certainly fulfills that desire but do not expect the company to stand behind their product. I own several Tumi bags and have never had a warranty issue with Tumi. I will not purchase from them again.

Poor Customer Service and Missing Items…

Poor Customer Service and Missing Items - Buyer Beware

I recently ordered two passport covers from Globe-Trotter and only received one. What followed was a frustrating experience that has completely changed my perception of this luxury brand.

The issues:
• Ordered two passport covers, only one delivered
• Multiple customer service representatives gave contradicting information
• One rep (Monik) promised a replacement would be shipped, while another (Darleen) contradicted this
• Promised a 48-hour investigation that never materialized
• No proper investigation with their courier (FedEx) despite their legal obligation to do so
• Multiple follow-up emails ignored or met with vague responses
• Over a month of back and forth with no resolution

Despite their reputation as a luxury brand, their customer service falls well below basic standards. They failed to honor their legal obligations under UK consumer protection laws and showed little interest in resolving the issue.

I had to resort to filing a credit card dispute after weeks of getting nowhere with their customer service team. A premium brand should provide premium service - Globe-Trotter failed on both the product delivery and customer service fronts.

For anyone considering purchasing from Globe-Trotter, I would strongly advise caution. The quality of their products may be good, but their after-sales service is severely lacking, and they don't seem to take their legal obligations seriously.

My Globe-Trotter Experience: A Disappointing Purchase and Broken Promises

I am writing this review to share my extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with Globe-Trotter. I purchased a suitcase from their London store for £2,795, expecting a premium product with exceptional quality and service. Unfortunately, I received neither.

The suitcase was damaged on its very first trip. Despite the high price tag and the brand's reputation, the quality was so poor that it broke after a single use. This left me questioning whether the product I received was a one-off defect or a serious lapse in quality control.

The customer service experience was even worse. Over several months, I was met with a complete lack of support and constant miscommunication. My attempts to get a refund or a proper resolution were ignored. I was told to drop off my luggage at a store in my country for a replacement, only to arrive and find that no one there had any idea about the arrangement. This back-and-forth was exhausting and incredibly disrespectful.

After a long period of silence, the brand finally returned my suitcase. To my shock and disappointment, it was not a new one but a poorly repaired bag. The patch job was ugly, the original scratches were still there, and my luggage tag was missing. This repair was unacceptable for a product of this value.

The most frustrating part is that it has been 5 months since I bought this bag in April, and I still have not received a proper resolution. The lack of communication is unacceptable. I have since had to travel on multiple trips and ended up buying a much cheaper suitcase that has worked perfectly—highlighting the stark difference in quality and value.

This entire ordeal has been about more than just a damaged product; it's about a complete disregard for the customer. A brand that sells a suitcase at this price point should provide impeccable quality and service. Instead, I was met with empty promises, silence, and disrespect.

I am sharing my story so others can be aware. If you are considering buying a Globe-Trotter product, please think twice. For a brand that claims to be a symbol of luxury and durability, their actions and quality have proven otherwise.

Well I'd like to give more stars but…

Well I'd like to give more stars but ZERO customer service = 1 star. The craftsman ship is very nice, but their return/exchange policy is worthless if no one will respond to your requests. It has been 2 weeks since I received my watch case and contacted the company and zero response. This was an expensive piece and if I'm not happy with it, I should be entitled to return it. I guess they are waiting until the return period ends.

Exceptional Service

I have owned my Globe Trotter suitcase since I was a child but lost the key. I approached Globe Trotter and within hours they had identified the lock and key but unfortunately no longer used that type. However, they searched online and found the exact match on eBay and sent me the link. This kind of service goes above and beyond and typical of this iconic and brilliant English company.
